How do I know if my doors are impact rated? I have an inspection soon. There are no stickers or stamp on the doors but they are metal doors with 3 hinges. No glass. Any suggestions? Thank you
As a Wind Mitigation Inspector, do you need to inspect "electrical panel?" I do not know why one of the homeowner insurance agents required to look at the electrical panel.
Mitigation inspections are only good if you have nothing protecting your property and want the inspectors company to come in and work on your property. I had a mitigation inspector come in to review my home. My home is well fortified with 2 metal doors to get through before you can enter my home. He was in and out in 10 minutes and failed my door. These inspectors are just salesman under the guise of inspectors.
Dude what a great video. I’m planning to start doing these inspections & this was a huge help.
Great to hear. Visit www.nachi.org/florida.htm for more information about Florida-specific inspection resources.
Great Vid. Even though this is 2015, it still stands as a great Inspection procedure.
It sure is!

What would be Miami Dade's City building department website?I've I'm having a hard time finding permits. Awesome video by the way!
Hi, Samuel. I Googled and found www.miamidade.gov/building/.
I live in Florida. I guess that there are many requirements to be met in Miami Dade' city such as shutter windows (hurricane rate) and so on.

My front door's outer layer is made/covered by aluminum, it should be considered an impact rated.

The 4-point inspection will include the electrical system.

What happens if the NOA is expired on windows or shutter panels?
Not sure, Iris. Probably a local certified home inspector could help you with that. Use www.nachi.org/certified-inspectors

You don’t just inspect the doors, if windows or garage doors don’t qualify then you don’t get the credit. They will go with the weakest ingress.
