I always loved the city. Always since I was a child thought Hartford was beautiful and my favorite city. and as a child remember Constitution plaza decorated and lit up for Christmas.
Although I am from Seville, Spain. I lived in Hartford from 92 to 96, while I was attending UHART; it was not my first experience in the US as I had previously lived in NYC during my high school years. Although the main campus is located in West Hartford, especially during my freshman and sophomore years we used to hit the bar and club scene downtown, during the last years of College we used to go Boston, such a great college town to be at. I remember a bar called Sharky´s where we used to go to play pool, and a club called TRAXX I think, both were close to Union Station I reckon. Somehow I believe those places no longer exist and have been renamed or closed. I did also attend a couple of Whalers games; I remember one against the NY Rangers, and a WWF event with Hogan, Rick Flair and may other stars. Even though Hartford is a small town I have good memories, I probably spent the best four years of my life. I even got my driver’s license in Hartford; I went to Santo Driving School, great people. Four years ago I did return to visit my old school and took a walk around downtown; I got to see the new Hartford 21 tower, and the Science Center. I understand that the new UCONN campus has given the downtown area more life. Hopefully there will be more projects for Hartford in the near future.
A lot of those buildings are empty.😞. Constitution Plaza was a beautiful place back in the 60’s and 70’s. Christmas tree lighting every year. As you took a right on Prospect Street, on the right was the Hartford Times building. I worked there as an obit editor till 1976 when it closed. Great place to work. Those pillars in the front of the building came from a Presbyterian Church in NYC. Hartford is like a ghost town in some spots.

@@hitchinaride2215 Thank you so much, I so appreciate it!! Right now it's still in planning stages but your footage will reallyyyy help me give my advisors a sense of what I'm going for (and will be wonderful additions to the actual film....eventually!). Should I just credit your youtube channel or would you like me to use your name? Thank you again, so much!!!
