J Utah I enjoyed that video. I'm from Germany and have never been to Amerika and I like the just driving around and showing us this city, thank you very much!
Takes me back to the times I got to visit that city whenever I would tour the campus. Most beautiful school I’ve ever seen! It got real crowded at the graduation ceremony, because you and all the other families are clogging up the streets. Nice ride, Thank you!
This was my uncle's bus route in the 1960's and early 70's. I used to get on for free and spend hours seeing this with my cousins. My uncle wanted to keep an eye on us and riding around with him was a lot of fun. Thanks for the memories.
Yeah l always saw it as a mini New York..l used to like to hang out and eat by crown street then go to the clubs that were close to one another b4 they closed down..Was so fun at the time :)
@@MrRezillo I still have digitized versions of old cassettes of WPLR "specials" from the mid '70s. Forty-five minutes straight music, then a commercial break to flip or reverse the cassette, then forty-five more. Wonder whatever became of Stoneman...

Church & Chaple the fountain on the corner was for horses to water at. About midway of the Green is where Court St was. If you were able to take a left on Grove about a block+ was the old New Haven Arena. The Hotel Taft had a pool room $1.50 per hr per person.
+J Utah I am from Indonesia. I like your video. By watching your video I know cities in USA although I never there. By the way What is your car? It seems a good car. The cabin is very silent.
It s true!! nothing special about it! people ( of course not all) are very cold. I coould see many homeless around in the green. It s kind of a depressing place. Yale University is the only spot that keep the city alive.
Thanks jose! Would love to go back to New Haven again soon and do another video! I haven't been to East Rock. Ive got a decent memory for the comments so Ill file that away and try to visit next time i'm in the area. Thanks for commenting :)
J Utah during your next visit try coming in early June, the free concerts start then on the first weekend of June, there are also plenty of free walking tours throughout the Yale campus and sites of interest throughout the city. All this is sponsored by New Haven Arts and ideas which I am not affiliated with I’m just a resident of New Haven and I love my city. Take care, enjoy your next visit!
ReturnoftheBrotha > New Haven would probably be a fun place to visit if the state itself wasn't broke. For example, Hartford used to be one of the wealthiest cities in the country, but now it's one of the poorest cities in the country. I don't think that's a coincidence.
New Haven regardless of the reputation isn't a bad place to be. Whalley Ave is a mixed bag but Wooster Street is worth while and around Yale. I'd take New Haven over Hartford, Bridgeport, or Waterbury.
Question, I’ll be visiting in a few weeks will it be safe for me to walk from Frank Pepe’s back to Yale Campus or should I just take Cabs/Uber while visiting?
A piece of home I was born at Yale born and raised in New Haven ct can’t say I miss it I only miss Pizza house on Howard st and Gospel on the green and Popeyes on Whaley ave all the parks I left in 1997 I’m happy where I am Jesus Christ is Amazing
It's not THAT bad. There are much worse cities on that side of the country (Baltimore, Wilmington, Hartford, DC, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Trenton, NYC, Camden, Chester, etc).
I’m from Delaware and I lived in Hartford CT a few years ago. If you’re looking for friendly people with southern hospitality CT is NOT the place to go. There are much friendlier people in very clean cities in and outside of the DC, Maryland, Virginia(DMV) area. I mean people here in Delaware are nice too but it’s boring. And the only city we have in DE is kinda dangerous🤷🏾♂️😂but if you’re hooked on moving to Connecticut then you should go its an interesting state
Hi j Utah,i m RIKKi from India.i m 23 i love driving, but u know driving in India is very dangerous.so i enjoyed Ur driving.so please post another vedio of driving my dear..😘😘
Downtown New Haven is a decent-looking city, if you're looking to become a victim just leave the confines of that profitable area. If you are from out of town just visiting, stay in this area.
You don't like this town, eh? No reason, you just "don't like it". You're prepared to say that anyway But do you know what you're talking about? No. You just "don't like it" Well I live in New Haven and I do like it because of its people who're friendly and welcoming to anyone who is wiling to give the place a chance. It has great history. BTW a few New Haven notables: The Carpenters, Earnest Borgnine, Paul Newman, Paul Giamatti (saw him here recently), Eli Whitney, Charles Goodyear, George Bush
Analyst2X No. New Haven is a big city. It's bigger than Waterbury, Hartford, Stamford and probably even bigger than Bridgeport. What the hell are you saying?

I love New Haven. It's a big City with a New York style to it. And there is also plenty of help for the poor and the homeless..

Trust me I also live in fair haven
christopher joseph and you just said that new havens good
Many thanks! I grew up in the New Haven area a long time ago - lots of familiar streets. Anybody else remember the small Orange Street buses?

My uncle drove bus for Ansonia to New Haven back in the 1960's and 70's, sometimes he did this Yale run

Beautiful City
This shows mostly Yale University areas. They have amazing old buildings and they maintain them well.
I left New Haven for good in '76. It was time.
Nice video representation of New Haven, CT. Have you done one driving up East Rock?

"A small city that feels like a big city." Sometimes I wonder how isn't New Haven the biggest city in Connecticut.
ReturnoftheBrotha > New Haven would probably be a fun place to visit if the state itself wasn't broke. For example, Hartford used to be one of the wealthiest cities in the country, but now it's one of the poorest cities in the country. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Bridgeport is the largest city in Ct, 2 New haven, 3 Stamford and the nr4 Hartford
New Haven regardless of the reputation isn't a bad place to be. Whalley Ave is a mixed bag but Wooster Street is worth while and around Yale. I'd take New Haven over Hartford, Bridgeport, or Waterbury.
Justin Tee > Would you rather take New Haven over Stamford?
Spiritual Genius 1737 Stamford. There is a lot going on there and overall it's nowhere near the level of decay New Haven is in. For food, New Haven.
Nice u gave the whole description what cam do u use I have the n2 pro

Great video
New haven has changed a LOT low key spot to live
Why i read some comments saying that new haven and some cities like hartford are soooo dangerous? i think buffalo or albany, NY are more dangerous
Christopher Romero .Actually NY has a lower homicide rate than Hartford.
Homicide rate NY=3.2, CT=2.2 year' 2016
Door Dek Thats the state dumbass, we talking about cities.
New haven is dangerous it's on the list
looks like a nice calm city
Ronin Lee Yeah I heard it's pretty sketchy...
Currently one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Hard to believe Yale is there.
It's not THAT bad. There are much worse cities on that side of the country (Baltimore, Wilmington, Hartford, DC, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Trenton, NYC, Camden, Chester, etc).
My home turf
New haven has its bad areas. Still not as bad as Bridgeport.
Without Yale , new haven would be a ghost town
Yeah it is New haven and Stamford are the most Beautiful citys in Ct

Connecticut is a lot like Alabama.

Yeah right!
I am aware that this comment section is old but Connecticut is nothing like Alabama’s, both states are uniquely different in their own way.
New Haven is not a city- its a large town.
