I managed to pick out the differences between the wired and wireless clips. I could hear a little additional hiss and rolling off of some of the highs as well but the Lekato sounded much better than I was expecting. I was also listening to these examples in my studio on Neumann monitors. I can buy these in the UK for around £69!
Yup, “does it sound good/useable” is the best way to do a tone analysis. Even if it DOES have a tiny bit of tone loss (I don’t think it does), will it matter in the grand scheme of things? No one is listening to a concert listening to A/B a cable to a wireless. As long as it’s useable... that’s my philosophy. And this wireless absolutely does pass the test and I’ve used it multiple times 👍
For the money, pretty good investment. I had to turn up the gain on the mic when using these. I can hear the powered up hum from the monitors as opposed to when I have the mic cable in. That’s plugging these in directly to the monitors. Coming from a mixer I was able to adjust the gain so it didn’t sound like the monitors were about to explode when the vocals came in.
this is a fantastic product , i have used it in 4 different venues with 4 different sized rooms , and the result was absolutley no probs whatsoever, i put it through my dynacord cm 600, and beleieve me it was just excellent, this was for vocals.
I use these in conjunction with an ART HP-1 as my in ear system. The only problem with it is, the transmitter's sensitivity is for use with a microphone. The output of a mixer is much higher and will easily overdrive the transmitter's input. So I turn down the monitor channel output lower than if it was plugged into a floor monitor. Works just fine as an affordable IEM system.
Just got this a couple of days ago as a fourth microphone for this lecture panel coming up with 10 inputs with 4 wireless and the rest wired. Been testing it at home to see set up and range, also charge life. So far it sounds and works really good. $102 is an amazing price vs $600 for a decent Shure or Sennheiser wireless. But the proof will be in the pudding coming up. Thanks for the reminder to have a cable and mic backup which I will hide upstage of the panel seating and covered.
This thing has been rock solid. I would not recommend using 4 of these all at once since it only has 4 channels, so if one channel is taking that means you have no backups. But using 1-2 of these has been extremely solid over the years.
Check whatever you're using for headphones. The noise from the wireless was clear and evident. You could easily tell which samples were wireless and which were wired.
It was not apparent to me when I was doing this video. However, I would argue that when you use it live, no one listens to the live concert with headphones on listening for the exact tiny details. I’ve used this live and there is no noticeable hiss that makes it not unusable. I stand by my review and continue to use this device live quite a bit actually, but that’s why I made this review so you can make your own decision 👍
Nice review. I got the Lekato about 2 months ago and have used it at least 7 gigs. It has worked consistently without any problems. I also got an Ammoon wireless system for my instruments at the same time. Both work together well with no conflicts. They both charge quickly and I've used them for 3 to 4 hours without any issues.
Used it few nights ago for couple hours (as a guest singer ) Great idea if you don’t want to carry your own wireless mic system with you. Works very good, looks that it performs better with my10 years old Shure 58 beta A,than with a brand new EV 86 !!! I am a professional nightclub singer (40 years) and when it comes to mic’s I try almost everything here (USA) and in Europe. Great idea for certain situations!!! I honestly do not know how you had that experience unless you got a bad one. I use these CONSTANTLY. Used it 3 times over the weekend. Took it to the Bahamas for 2 weeks for my wife’s vocal mic. I’m taking it to a one off show in Dominican Republic coming up. This thing has been extremely useful for me and I still use it to this day

Nice video. Just received mine. As I was watching the part with the ability to charge the receiver while plugged in, I was wondering why they didn't take advantage of the phantom power available on most mixers to keep it charged that way. A simple transformer to match voltage would be easy to incorporate into the circuitry.
@@ScottUhlMusic I don’t mean phantom power to power a condenser microphone, I meant using the phantom power from the mixer to power the receiving unit you plug into the mixer. It would eliminate the need to plug it on the side, which is limiting in certain situations.
Actually I bought it, tried it and sent it back. It really worked pretty easy and had no dropouts. BUT I tried several microphones while several gigs and with every microphone I had clipping when singing a bit louder, not shouting or screaming, only singing a bit louder. Unfortunately, you can't adjust the sensitivity of the transmitter, which would be great in order to eliminate clipping.

Your guitar amp has an xlr input? I’ve never heard of that. But this wireless replaces any xlr cable for a microphone or pa speaker or anything with xlr

I do have a condenser mic (headset, AKG)...before I put it in my zoom fx pedal (as a vocal pedal) it runs through a Xvive phantom power booster (12 and 48v). Hi, Will it be working with a Senheiser e945 to connect to a Bluetooth mixer for playing karaoke tracks from my mobile while singing wirelessly using this adapter with my mic?

Best practice is to keep it 6-10 feet away from Wi-Fi routers and anything on 5.8ghz. That is just best practice though… wireless can still work regardless
I wouldn’t do that many of these since these are cheaper and you only get 4 channels. That means all 4 channels need to be clear/available at every show. The RF environment is always different. Interesting you note that you can charge the receiver while it’s running which is great but since I used mine from mixer to powered speaker I’d like to be able to charge the transmitter as well but that doesn’t work. I don’t know why they left it out just making a note.

Eh… this is why I personally dislike doing tone tests. Everyone is so focused on “I heard a slight difference with the tone” but in reality… did they sound useable? The answer is yes. That’s what matters the most.
My receiver doesn't work as it should because it just turns on the blue light from the one who sends the signal to the receiver but the receiver doesn't want to accept it and doesn't turn on the light and nothing is heard😢😅

I really appreciate this review. This particular brand of wireless system has constantly been coming up on my Amazon page as a possible purchase. Wanted to purchase one just to try it out, but didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it if I didn't like it. I think I'll be picking up a few of them to use with my gigs. I have bought it recently. Still not sure if it is a toy or not. The latency is 7ms, not less than 5 as advertised. Not a big deal but it does not keep unity gain either. The level is 5.5dB lower comparing to a cable. Max level before AD/DA clipping is -8.5dBu The receiver XLR plug is short and keeps XLR socket lock button pressed (released) so it can't be used directly with eg. camera without a risk it would fall off.
Thanks for the info. I’ve used this live at multiple gigs when I got it and had no problems with it. But I will say… No one can hear 7ms or 5ms of latency. If the volume is less, you can always just turn up. But you are correct with using with a camera. You can get an xlr little extender or tiny cable if you planned to use it that way. I definitely think this is still worth it, especially for the price 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic Isn't that honest if one advertise a product to give a customer a honest specs? 5 looks better than 7 and 0dB looks better than -6dB. Still it is not true. :) BTW well designed 2.4GHz devices like eg Rode Wireless Go II outperforms 5.8GHz toy products.
You can get more latency based on your setup. So it could be a problem on your end, or they could have gotten it slightly wrong. Online they say 6ms or latency. I think 1ms of latency difference is within a reasonable margin of error and does not count dishonesty. And where does it say there is no loss in signal volume? I looked and I didn’t see it. Again, a slightly lower volume is very easy to fix :) The Rode wireless are great for sure. But they are completely different setup and design. If you are using them with a camera, those seem great. If you want to add one to a handheld mic, these Lekato 5.8 ones are great for that. And I’ll take 5.8ghz is far less crowded than 2.4ghz. So I personally stand by my review and I still recommend this product 👍 Cheers.
@@ScottUhlMusic Yeah almost 7 so still 6 ;) They had printed a manual with some mostly useless specs but gain is speced at 0dB. Man, what a hiss! 105dB SN ratio??? No way!!! 60-80 maybe. But, wait - wedding parties are noisy so nobody should notice, right? :) I wonder how much time the batteries holds. 3 hours vs 5 advertised? You can still plug some small power bank or charge it in between sets anyway. ;) Cheers!

I can confirm that the Battery survives longer than 4+ hours. I use it for a 4 hour set, including soundcheck, and never had it die on me. I also do not have a hiss problem with this system. Sounds like it's not for you. But I still use and recommend this system to others. 👍
Can they go from back of mixer output (not just a line out on top) to powered speakers and can they be charged same time plugged into mains to charge on reciever and sender. Also if using 2 like this left n right can you use a third for a mic and so i suppose you use a different channel for that.....any dropouts? by the way i correctly guessed so its just a bit quieter ....but hows the overall sound quality ? Does it really do 5 hours? wish there was a system that did 8 just to be on safe side cos batteries do degrade over time
Yup, and that's mostly how I use this actually... for a wireless PA. I use it sometimes for a wireless mic, but often times I use it for a wireless PA setup. It works great!

What if our sound engineer is using digital mixer with Apple Airport wifi router? It is right on the scene. And what if I am using this MW-1 very close to my mic, I mean that the receiver is connected to my xlr cable, which is lying just nearby my mic stand with the transmitter on mic? Will it help to avoid any problems?
Anyone compared these with the Xvive U3? I'm UK based playing small venues up to 150 people usually. We use two SM55 (Elvis) mics that are always in a stand. Just trying to help clear cable mess up and speed up setup/break down.

Any mic that doesn’t require phantom power, yes this will work. A mic should not need batteries. A good one to try with it is the standard Shure sm58 🤘
I bought these because you used them from a PA to a powered speaker. I tried going from my DJ controller (+18 dBu) to a PA line in and it's peaking. If I went from my DJ controller (Denon Prime Go) to a powered speaker would it work?
I believe it should, but I honestly don’t know every setup. It works from my mixer to a speaker or a mic to my mixer. You can always try them and return them if you need to 👍

The tx is bigger than the sure logo. That means that u cant put em side by side in a mixing console.....atleast without 6 inch xlr extensions.....do they work while charging? If so hows the hum?
Is there a line of sight requirement for this unit? If the PA speaker is around an interior corner from the mixer, or if there is a crowd of people visually between the mixer and speaker, do you get dropouts?
Line of sight is important for any wireless system, not just this one. You can get away with using wireless around a corner sometimes but not always. That’s true for any wireless

Bonus: this with the Behringer P2 makes a cheap wireless in ear rig. I did that with the X-vive version before they came out with the U4. So... Lekato, make this, but in the same frequency range as the WS-70, and offer a headphone amp/receiver, and you'll sell a BUNCH of them.

Most wireless do not allow you to send to multiple transmitters and receivers at once. But if you have one transmitter, and two receivers…. You set the receivers to the same channel… and then turn on and off the receivers as you need to, that would work 👍 but they cannot receive at the same time
How well do you think you could use two of these with a Behringer PM2 and have a stereo 5.8 GHz digital iem system…? With only 4 channels to choose from you’d probably only want to do it for one person, but it’s an interesting idea.

@@ScottUhlMusic I looked at those the other day. They’re not digital right? So while the frequency response is ok… the stereo separation on them is listed as only “>40dBm”. To me that sounds like there’s a lot of bleed between the two channels. Whereas using two of these XLR type systems could hypothetically avoid that… at least if they don’t cause interference with each other. I’m using fake doubling on my guitar in my in-ears, which turns into a lot of phase issues when summing to mono qt all. So I need quality stereo separation.

I send a right and left xlr from my mixer to both inputs of an EV50 and then send that signal from the mix out to one of the input channels of an EV50 on the other side of the stage. It should be good with any dynamic mic 👍 Cheap stuff CAN sometimes not work with a mic, so I can’t always be certain. But it should work with basically any dynamic mic

I purchased the Lekato wireless XLR system and am finding I need to increase the input gain on the mixer to get similar levels as the same mic, wired. Did you experience this? I’m trying to determine if my unit is defective or if that’s just the way it is.
It’s reassuring to find this is normal. I’ve only used it twice and am happy with its performance. On my Mackie mixer I have to use a short XLR cable to allow other mic cables to plug in to the adjacent channels. Thanks for responding!
It feels like it would be too good to be true, but does it transmit a balanced signal, or just sums it up, transmits and reverses the polarity for one wire at the receiver end? What I mean is: Could this potentially be used with the Behringer P2 like you've shown at the end of your video, but for stereo monitoring? Like using an Y adapter to put two signals at the transmitter end and putting P2 into unbalanced Stereo mode.

I purchased this product, it works great with a microphone, but it doesn't work well when connecting a mixer to a speaker, as soon as you turn up the volume a bit, the sound immediately goes into distortion, quite logical, assuming it is suitable for mic mode, and not for line or aux mode. I would appreciate it if you have a solution to the matter

Do you have any information on battery life ? And if it’s possible to open the units to install new batteries ? , being able to install new batteries if needed is a big reason if I buy these or not . Good video .

Most reviews including yours don’t cover what they need to.

I have a wireless uhf microphone. Will there be an interference if I'll be getting a uhf wireless guitar system? Unfortunately, most of products here in my country are uhf products.
No, uhf can still be set to different frequencies. So one can be 500mhz, another at 520mhz, and so on. If just depends on the system on how many wireless can be used at once. But with most systems you can use at least 4 at once without dropouts 👍

The solution to that is a Low-Pass filter in the range of 8K to 10K and it’s barely noticeable.

One of the advantage of 5.8ghz is it penetrate obstacle like wall less easily... Which mean you get less interference from 5.8ghz system around you.

I honestly do not know how you had that experience unless you got a bad one. I use these CONSTANTLY. Used it 3 times over the weekend. Took it to the Bahamas for 2 weeks for my wife’s vocal mic. I’m taking it to a one off show in Dominican Republic coming up. This thing has been extremely useful for me and I still use it to this day

Cannot tell the difference. I have the Shure wireless, and the only difference is volumn. but that is easy to remedy. Nice video. I like mine a lot.

As I was watching the part with the ability to charge the receiver while plugged in, I was wondering why they didn't take advantage of the phantom power available on most mixers to keep it charged that way. A simple transformer to match voltage would be easy to incorporate into the circuitry.

@@ScottUhlMusic I don’t mean phantom power to power a condenser microphone, I meant using the phantom power from the mixer to power the receiving unit you plug into the mixer. It would eliminate the need to plug it on the side, which is limiting in certain situations.

Actually I bought it, tried it and sent it back. It really worked pretty easy and had no dropouts. BUT I tried several microphones while several gigs and with every microphone I had clipping when singing a bit louder, not shouting or screaming, only singing a bit louder. Unfortunately, you can't adjust the sensitivity of the transmitter, which would be great in order to eliminate clipping.

Best practice is to keep it 6-10 feet away from Wi-Fi routers and anything on 5.8ghz. That is just best practice though… wireless can still work regardless

I wouldn’t do that many of these since these are cheaper and you only get 4 channels. That means all 4 channels need to be clear/available at every show. The RF environment is always different. Eh… this is why I personally dislike doing tone tests. Everyone is so focused on “I heard a slight difference with the tone” but in reality… did they sound useable? The answer is yes. That’s what matters the most.
My receiver doesn't work as it should because it just turns on the blue light from the one who sends the signal to the receiver but the receiver doesn't want to accept it and doesn't turn on the light and nothing is heard😢😅

I really appreciate this review. This particular brand of wireless system has constantly been coming up on my Amazon page as a possible purchase. I have bought it recently. Still not sure if it is a toy or not. The latency is 7ms, not less than 5 as advertised. Not a big deal but it does not keep unity gain either. The level is 5.5dB lower comparing to a cable.
Max level before AD/DA clipping is -8.5dBu
The receiver XLR plug is short and keeps XLR socket lock button pressed (released) so it can't be used directly with eg. camera without a risk it would fall off.
Thanks for the info. I’ve used this live at multiple gigs when I got it and had no problems with it. But I will say… No one can hear 7ms or 5ms of latency. If the volume is less, you can always just turn up. But you are correct with using with a camera. You can get an xlr little extender or tiny cable if you planned to use it that way. I definitely think this is still worth it, especially for the price 👍

5 looks better than 7 and 0dB looks better than -6dB. Still it is not true. :)
BTW well designed 2.4GHz devices like eg Rode Wireless Go II outperforms 5.8GHz toy products.
You can get more latency based on your setup. So it could be a problem on your end, or they could have gotten it slightly wrong. Online they say 6ms or latency. I think 1ms of latency difference is within a reasonable margin of error and does not count dishonesty.
And where does it say there is no loss in signal volume? I looked and I didn’t see it. Again, a slightly lower volume is very easy to fix :)
The Rode wireless are great for sure. But they are completely different setup and design. If you are using them with a camera, those seem great. If you want to add one to a handheld mic, these Lekato 5.8 ones are great for that. And I’ll take 5.8ghz is far less crowded than 2.4ghz. So I personally stand by my review and I still recommend this product 👍 Cheers.

I can confirm that the Battery survives longer than 4+ hours. I use it for a 4 hour set, including soundcheck, and never had it die on me. I also do not have a hiss problem with this system. Sounds like it's not for you. But I still use and recommend this system to others. 👍

Can they go from back of mixer output (not just a line out on top) to powered speakers and can they be charged same time plugged into mains to charge on reciever and sender. Also if using 2 like this left n right can you use a third for a mic and so i suppose you use a different channel for that.....any dropouts? by the way i correctly guessed so its just a bit quieter ....but hows the overall sound quality ? Does it really do 5 hours? wish there was a system that did 8 just to be on safe side cos batteries do degrade over time
Yup, and that's mostly how I use this actually... for a wireless PA. I use it sometimes for a wireless mic, but often times I use it for a wireless PA setup. It works great!

What if our sound engineer is using digital mixer with Apple Airport wifi router? It is right on the scene. And what if I am using this MW-1 very close to my mic, I mean that the receiver is connected to my xlr cable, which is lying just nearby my mic stand with the transmitter on mic? I would avoid putting this right by a router… but I have done it and it’s been fine. It all just depends.
Anyone compared these with the Xvive U3? I'm UK based playing small venues up to 150 people usually. We use two SM55 (Elvis) mics that are always in a stand. Just trying to help clear cable mess up and speed up setup/break down.
U3 is on 2.4Ghz, so I prefer this one instead 👍

Any mic that doesn’t require phantom power, yes this will work. A mic should not need batteries. A good one to try with it is the standard Shure sm58 🤘
I bought these because you used them from a PA to a powered speaker. I tried going from my DJ controller (+18 dBu) to a PA line in and it's peaking. If I went from my DJ controller (Denon Prime Go) to a powered speaker would it work?
I believe it should, but I honestly don’t know every setup. It works from my mixer to a speaker or a mic to my mixer. You can always try them and return them if you need to 👍
To hide the hiss, use a limiter if using with a daw or soundboard.

Line of sight is important for any wireless system, not just this one. You can get away with using wireless around a corner sometimes but not always. That’s true for any wireless

Most wireless do not allow you to send to multiple transmitters and receivers at once. But if you have one transmitter, and two receivers…. You set the receivers to the same channel… and then turn on and off the receivers as you need to, that would work 👍 but they cannot receive at the same time

With only 4 channels to choose from you’d probably only want to do it for one person, but it’s an interesting idea.

@@ScottUhlMusic I looked at those the other day. They’re not digital right? So while the frequency response is ok… the stereo separation on them is listed as only “>40dBm”. To me that sounds like there’s a lot of bleed between the two channels. Whereas using two of these XLR type systems could hypothetically avoid that… at least if they don’t cause interference with each other.
I’m using fake doubling on my guitar in my in-ears, which turns into a lot of phase issues when summing to mono qt all. So I need quality stereo separation.
I would probably go with a Shure or sennheiser wireless IEM system then. But… if you do end up trying this method, let me know if it works

I send a right and left xlr from my mixer to both inputs of an EV50 and then send that signal from the mix out to one of the input channels of an EV50 on the other side of the stage. It should be good with any dynamic mic 👍 Cheap stuff CAN sometimes not work with a mic, so I can’t always be certain. But it should work with basically any dynamic mic

I purchased the Lekato wireless XLR system and am finding I need to increase the input gain on the mixer to get similar levels as the same mic, wired. Did you experience this? Yeah it’s a little quiet, but ultimately works great! Just used it today actually and it works really well!
It’s reassuring to find this is normal. I’ve only used it twice and am happy with its performance. On my Mackie mixer I have to use a short XLR cable to allow other mic cables to plug in to the adjacent channels. Thanks for responding!

It feels like it would be too good to be true, but does it transmit a balanced signal, or just sums it up, transmits and reverses the polarity for one wire at the receiver end?

I purchased this product, it works great with a microphone, but it doesn't work well when connecting a mixer to a speaker, as soon as you turn up the volume a bit, the sound immediately goes into distortion, quite logical, assuming it is suitable for mic mode, and not for line or aux mode. I would appreciate it if you have a solution to the matter

The X-vive does, but it's 2.4G. You have to buy the version with phantom. I think it's the U3-C, for condenser
I guessed correctly. There's a slightly higher noise floor on the wireless. Dealbreaker? No. But it is audible.
Do you have any information on battery life ? And if it’s possible to open the units to install new batteries ? , being able to install new batteries if needed is a big reason if I buy these or not . Good video .
The battery life survives longer than 5 hours for sure. Some people say they can install new batteries, but I do not know how to 👍

@@ScottUhlMusic A lot of gadgets are like this now , once the sealed internal battery dies , it’s throw away and buy another ! Nothing to do with cheap, this gadget will function just as good as more expensive model if not better , ive found this over the years , so , if the battery can be replaced , I will buy it , if it can’t , then I won’t . Most reviews including yours don’t cover what they need to.

How are these treating you, if youre still using them at this point? Looks like they are the same as the set from Joyo (model number and everything), really thinking of picking one up since im finally getting back on stage soon and i think going wireless will be nice. Gonna check out your wireless In ear vid too since ive been wanting to look at setting up one of those as well

You can. Just be careful because you only have 4 channels. If 2 of them are crowded/used you won’t be able to use 3. Also don’t use a bunch of cheap wireless all at once: ua-cam.com/video/Xgw96rY4TAc/v-deo.html

I have a wireless uhf microphone. Will there be an interference if I'll be getting a uhf wireless guitar system? Unfortunately, most of products here in my country are uhf products.
No, uhf can still be set to different frequencies. So one can be 500mhz, another at 520mhz, and so on. If just depends on the system on how many wireless can be used at once. But with most systems you can use at least 4 at once without dropouts 👍
