Any interest in doing an 8l90 valve body for me? There is not a single local trans shop that will do it. I don’t understand how they offer reman transmission’s.
Very nice repair process. Would it be best to use a drill press so the reamer is 90 degrees and steady to the bore? Just a thought, maybe the jig controls that enough... I wonder how many "builders" actually go through this much detail in confirming valve body operation.
Where can I buy a replacement solenoid for the 8l90. The part 24272278 is discontinued and I'm not able to find it anywhere. Appreciate your help very much!
Hiram, I've watched all of your AW5550/51SN videos and am convinced that you would do a great job on one I have sitting on a pallet right now. It's from a 2004 Volvo XC70. How does one go about getting in touch with you for such work?
Each of those accumulators is for one solenoid. Whether your upshifting or downshifting those accumulators are very busy since the solenoids are pulse width modulating controlling the rate of pressure for every single shift. The only one that I've seen not to be worn is the line pressure accumulator.. I have a video in my Spanish channel doing the same procedure and you can see that the line pressure accumulator has very little wear. If you want to watch that video the channel is called Transmisión Automática.
@@AutomaticTransmission I've had older chevy trucks with over 200,000 and never had that problem. Makes me believe it's a newer truck problem. If it is I now know how to fix the problem.
Quick question. My 8l90 was recently rebuilt but I'm having issues with engagement. So my vehicle only gets engagement when I step on the gas. 17 express w/ 2.8 diesel. No engagement when put in reverse or drive. But when I hit the gas and hit maybe over 1600 rpm the wheels start to turn.
I would take it back to where you got it built. They need to check it out. Valve bodies are a big issue and programming. But it is also possible that the builder miss something on assembly.
Hello Hiram from Australia :) Thanks for sharing your skills with us and I learn something every time..
You're welcome. Good morning Australia.

Thanks Hiram, you make me feel brave about building transmissions i haven't done yet. I put a estimate on a 8L90 job hope I get it!
Thanks for posting another great video. With your inspiration my son and I have rebuilt a 4l80e and 4l60e so far.
That's the ticket Hiram, Great Job!
Looks like that kit does the trick, thanks for showing us 👍

Great Video. Enough said
With the 8L90, is this something that you think can be done preemptively without any major symptoms?
Saludos, esté cuerpo de válvulas trae solenoides como los de 09g?
No, son diferentes.
I need to repair a 2008 68RFE transmission, what is the location of the workshop?
Damn if only you were from Miami
Interesting that a 2016 chevy truck transmission value body bores would have that much wear that they would need to bore oversized.

Do you turn the tcc lock up off tell 8th gear in theses with hp tuners like the 6 speeds?
No, I leave on from 6 to 8. But on some of the newest ones you have to send the TCM to HPtuners for unlock service.
@@AutomaticTransmission efi live supports the e92 ecm-tcm up to 2019. You could find a good used v2 somewhere I am sure.
