When ya got a rock n roll soul, this good rock stays with you forever. IM 63 and I love this band. I been groovin' with Grand funk since I was 10 years old!😊❤😊
Me too. Closer To Home was the second album that I got as a kid. The first one I got was America's first album. In fact, I'm going to see America this coming weekend. I hope Mark will do a tour sometime soon. Never got to see the original GFR.
I was hooked the first time I heard "Time Machine". I was on my paper route in the fall of 1969 and in the 7th grade. From one of the a houses on my route I heard this garage band cranking it out. I immediately went out and bought "On Time". The rest is history. I first saw them when Freddie King opened for them on December 10, 1972 at the Baltimore Civic Center and then again the next summer at the Omni in Atlanta when then sang of the this tour in the song "American Band". Mark Farner was the hero for me and my two best buds, Bones and Herford. GREAT MEMORIES!
First I’ve seen this and I am in tears. I identify with the old man a little too much. God bless Mark and all that was the early 70s. If only I could do it again. Peace.
This is my shootout to Mark Farner. My :15 second American Band post has gotten me 25% of my subs. It's great that I know that I'm getting the right kind of people to my channel. Keep Rockin Brother.
I love this video I am 65 years old I saw Grand funk railroad in 1974 the album was that caught in the act I too have a Camaro in my garage plus a lot of mountain bikes and BMX bikes also a 61 pickup truck hot rod
Think of all the other singers his same age that Mark's pipes have outlasted--Robert Plant, Rod Stewart, Roger Daltrey, Ian Gillan, Steve Perry, Steve Walsh, Mickey Thomas. All them can barely croak now...On the female side, Ann Wilson is still going strong!
This video made me cry, and I do not cry.. I am 60 now; grew up with GFR.. He's passing the torch. Missing my youth, yet embracing the grandkids. This video is AWESOME!
The thing I dug about GFR was how R&B rooted their sound was... like my (UK) compatriots Humble Pie around Smokin' and Eat It era. It's immortal. Long live all who have a R&R soul.
Mark Farner proves that new car smell will never be overrated. He caught that scent and took us all with him back to our youth for a brief rock N roll experience
Mark, in 1973 as a boy of 13 in Denver I fell hard for GFR and got all my friends to love you guys. And that cool armband! Still listen to it today, man the way you three weaved it all together into something so gripping and big and powerful. Thanks for the music, grandpa!
Indeed I bought all their albums. then later on Mark told the story of how the other band members ripped him out of his rights of the contract by a lie... I still rock to Footstomping Music, Love the drive, energy and Marks lead !!! Farner was the band. ua-cam.com/video/kUqS4O9nxv0/v-deo.html
I had a Camaro much like that. Looks like maybe a 74 model. Mine was Forest green with saddle tan interior. Vinyl roof. Listened to a lot of Grand Funk in that car. Awesome video
Leave it to Marky to get my eyes to tear up… thank you Mark and God Bless You.. I was there in 69, 70 and 98… with the real boys.. I wish they’d get it together for one more run at it.. we only get one life.. the money has to stop mattering at some point.

@@Mff48 😊👍✌ will do! Mark just recently booked a show at our local casino. It sold out in under thirty minutes. Wife couldn't get out to the garage fast enough to tell me. Hoping he might book a second show maybe this winter. I would keep his mailbox shoveled out if he does. 😄
Mark Farner has a fantistic voice, rode around in the country in a place called Harris's Lake lisenening to GFR, great memories, I'm 67 now, will never forget. Great times
My first car was a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro just like the one in this video with a blackened out front grille and the fuzzy dice and I had it for 10 YEARS (how many people can say they had their first car that long?) and guess what? I listened to lot of GFR in that machine cranked up on my Pioneer speakers, including the song you hear now. So do you think this video also takes me back to my youth, and the good ol' days of the 70s and 80s before things got complicated? HECK, YES!
Wow, thanks! Beautiful video. Close my eyes and I’m back there again, and I’m with my Love in his hot red Charger flying down the highway listening to this song on the radio cranked up to high volume! Mark Farmer’s talent was endless....guitar,singing,harmonica,keyboards,etc. He deserves to be happy after all he has been through.
Was???? You mean IS?!
And drummer!
Definitely IS. I have just watched him on stage performing in great shape in Rio de Janeiro.
Mark Farner is one of the few singers from his era along with the likes of Paul Rodgers and Glenn Hughes whose vocals are still strong and powerful.
I saw Glenn Hughes 2 weeks ago in Nashville. He is absolutely amazing. A true Rock Star!

Just think about those big boobs. That will put the smile back in your face.
From the Red Album to the Live Album to the Survival Album they brought some of the best Rock & Roll. Seeing them Live was an Experience.
