  • Overview of the Layout. Residential buildings are to be assembled later. I use Mobile Station 2 to control the Engines and turn out points. This is a 12 foot X 4 foot board.

Often less is more ... Very nice layout, simple and practical. I like this layout. The Märklin C-Track is very good and safe.

Nice layout and scenery very good but I fiind that this track is asking for troubles.
I don't see any stopsignals and at the X changer, both locs can make a collision when you are not paying attention. Good luck and have fun ;-)

Thank you for your excellent comment that is welcomed. This is my first attempt to build a layout since the early 70's. I followed the layout plan but never thought of putting in stop signals. My last set up could not have automated stops. They did not exist. I had to reverse the power to go backwards at that time.
You are correct, I have had many collisions if I do not pay attention. I am trying to figure out if I can put in stop signals without lifting too much track.
Thank you once again for your contact. GWM

@@kendogeoff To avoid any collision I can give you the tip to make 2 separated ovals in that way that you can run 2 trains at the same time so they don't have to use a same piece of track. Maybe removing the X changer and use a left or right changer at that place. Normally it ain't a problem. That can resolve the problem at minor cost until you eventually place stopsignals. Good luck with the anti-collision workshop ;-)

I think you idea is excellent. Have a look at 'Marklin Layout in Quebec 8 x 4 not far to being completed.' and you can see my problem and why I am reluctent to remove the cross track. Haveing said that it will have to go. GWM
