That old Ford is still good for something. You can build a flat bed on it and make it a oiler for the rest of your toys and keep it on the farm to service the rest of your machines. Just a thought!
Howdyyawl from the land down under. The tip tray is a good fit. You did a great job on it. You'll be able to earn a good coin with the truck now. Well done. I saw your bike. I think it's yours ,Nice. I run a 2002 VN Kawasaki Clasic 1500. Enjoy your ride.😊
I love watching your vids. My uncle owns a shop, but i didn't get interested in this kind of thing until maybe a few years ago. My dad learned to use a stick welder by welding together my foolish 'flintstone mobile' purchases. Wish I kept the pictures of me standing up inside an old Honda. Floor pans were gone. Learn a lot from your vids, including when not to act on deals that i might find in the future. Thanks for all the vids. Great work.
Thats crazy only takes 5 bolts on each side to hold that bed onto the frame i thought there would of been more then thst especially when the bed is fully loaded 🤔 interesting Matt 11:46 @Diesel Creek
Good Day Matt . I am a new subscriber ,just watched all 3 parts of your dump truck .There is nothing better for me than see a young man work as hard as you did getting everything finished .Take Care ,Stay Safe .Hope to see you on an other video
Stuart Roland thanks for subbing! And I try to put out a new one every Saturday morning (although I’m thinking of changing that) but once a week still , and as for hard work, I’m flattered but it’s more hobby than work to me! See you soon!
for A Touch of Class you ought to paint the wheels red and then put a black pinstripe around the outer wheel just saying I think that would really set that truck off PS Keep up the good work
Nice project series. Enjoyed it. I didn’t “suffer” the audio complaints others had. Always room for improvement, but you do nice work here. Thanks again for the education & entertainment! 👍
I use nozzle dip but I also run 100% Co2 because I’m Too cheap to run argon, the side affect of straight Co2 is lots of spatter but still produces a good weld
Nice, wish mine was air brake. I scoop out of the bed a lot and have to chalk my wheels everywhere I go. My next will be a 12 foot bed air brake with a single tire drop axle
No problem bro good looking setup you have I like your excavator a lot I’m looking at mini to mid size machines thinking about buying a cat 305.5. My truck is a 00 model 4700 with the 7.3 and auto and 10 foot dump bed and my trailer is a deck over pentle, tandem, single tires. I think I could get a lot of work done with my skid steer and a smaller excavator. I’ve used a bobcat 35 long stick and I’m trying to figure out which small machine I can reach to load my truck with and stay around 12k lbs.? Any ideas?
@@DieselCreek, of course they don’t think you’re funny at the moment, they live with you! BUT, let THEM tell it later on with the ladies in their group meetings. Been there, done that. Awesome build really enjoy your channel cant wait to get a truck with air brakes. Run the dumptruck a straight pipe in front of the rear axle and put some train horns on her well done sir
Music is a tad bit loud at times but I just turn it down I have learned a few things thru these videos. ! Plasma Cutters are simply great. And Mig Welders work very well. And I just love the dogs especially Meatball those sad eyes just kill me.
@@DieselCreek Matt just pan the music to the left and right if you want to put a v/o or sync sound with it . They will come through in the middle and the music will sit comfortably just behind . Listening to it now the level isn’t bad at all . It’s just the two sections after when you started to bolt it back together and the sync was fighting the music . I love the blues riffs your three friends or maybe you’re hiding a musical talent there from us it’s just right . From one little old sound engineer/ musician ..... I enjoy watching your videos as I think I would have loved to have been a spanner woman . I’m quite feminine and although I have long blonde hair I ain’t dumb ! Even after all these years I’m a bit of a novelty in film and tv but I’ve earned the respect of the guys without having to give up my handbag shall we say . I think they quite like telling new guys that come in that their boss is a woman 😂 I have learned so much from your videos and love the humour but you did sound a bit low , not your usual self over these last three. Chin up mate !
Awesome build! I have a similar truck, 2002 4300 DT466 Eaton 10 speed. All you need to do now is put an air actuator on your tailgate trip. It’s so nice not to have to tie a rope to your handle.
Shoot I'd love to move to a newer truck but the 1983 s1900 with a 6.9 isn't giving me any major problems I'll keep using it bought it out of a tree row for 1,500 had to put in a radiator the one i put in it is out of a 1978 f250 with the 460 a few pieces of exhaust pipe to change the hose size down and 4 new bolt holes we've been on the road since truck was sitting 4.5 years before I saved her from being scrap metal couldn't beat it for 1,500 with a clean title some of the truck I looked at in similar condition were running 6k to 8k at the time
i like to put heat on those cast d ring saddles when i weld them on. i have been considering upgrading my welder to the miller 252....big investment for me. i bought the milwaukee m18 mag drill. i absolutely love it. i have many videos of drilling truck frames with it. i move axles forward on trucks and the drilling only takes 20-30 minutes now. looks like the international is missing a bolt on the front leaf spring hanger on each side. i like how the subframe is spaced up a little bit from the truck frame.....less rust jacking that way. very nice build...look forward to more.
Hello Matt, nice to see you really bolting up the lorry back well. And both the Dogs are paying attention to the work you are doing 👍👍. The Bulldog likes to be close to you Matt. This is a early episode, later ones you have been hauling lots of stone. Good music Matt 👍👍. Good Video. Best wishes. Geoff Lewis, Wales UK, 🏴🏴🏴
great job of course don't for get the inspectors during the job -- the dogs they were there just to see the job was done right. good luck in all things you do.
@@DieselCreek I LOVE DOGS AND THAT BULLDOG OF YOURS IS A SWEET ONE,HE FOLLOWED YOU ARROUND AN WAS WATCHING EVERY MOVE YOU MADE THUS THE INSPECTOR I HAVE WATCHED YOUR CHANNEL AND WILL DO SO IN THE FUTURE IT IS GOOD STUFF.
sounds like you have your settings about right wire speed and voltage settinhgs , quick tip if you have them set right you willget a clean crisp crackle as you weld
I like the look of that year body-style for Ford rigs, I may have kept the dump bed on it. You know more about your machines though, so if you think the newer rig is a wiser choice, I'll go with your judgement :-)
You might want to think about a suction filter on the hydraulic system, keeps the cruddies from circulating and causing wear in the pump and elsewhere.
That's one die hard truck......drove a few of these in my life, as flatbed car haulers...one I put about 400,000 on myself...made me a IHC fan, of course im as well a MACK fan, and you gotta a astro van to boot!
ALL #9510 I’m a big mack fan too, as well as autocar I’ve got a 57 autocar if you check out my other videos you’ll see it. As far as the Astro van my neighbor gave it to me and I can’t bring myself to get rid of it because it runs and drives so well but I have absolutely no use for it lol
You need to see those Pakistani truck building videos, they take new trucks completely apart, modify them and then screw them back together. Those guys didn’t have mag drills either but used a chain around the frame as pushing aid, while turning the loop they created pressure. Crazy and cool idea. Found the link!: ua-cam.com/video/S1ZWqLRhhbM/v-deo.html
If you want an easier way to drill and finish frame holes, use a bridge reamer. Find center, 3/8 first then 1/2 or 5/8 reamer. Lots easier on the hands and arms.
Hi Matt. Love the vids keep em coming. Only welding I ever did was shop class in high school which in the late 1980s consisted of oxy acetylene and arc. Do all welders avoid arc welding now days because it weakens the metal due to too high heat?
Good truck
Just watched all three videos on your new truck!

Don't care what you say about yourself but your self motivated work ethic is thr greatest I've seen In. A long time.
I think that Corn Binder always made a good truck

Memorial Day weekend 2021, eating Chili dogs and binge-watching Diesel Creek! Doesn't get any better than this.
The truck is very worthwhile and I'm sure you'll get great use out of it, well worth all your effort!!!
Thanks! She’s been getting a workout!
Good for you bud, she's a lovely truck and fit for purpose and I hope she gives you many good years of service!!
Popping in from the future- it did!
Good rainy weather stuff

Enjoyed the videos of the tip body change bro. Looked quite smart when it was done.
Go for the mag drill such a versatile tool
I wish I could find a Ford dump truck like yours.
You are the greatest! I love watching you building the world, not burning it down.
You’re a “can do” guy!! Admirable!!
Love this build and that truck the color scheme is perfect you should add some window tint
I would have way too much fun with a shorty dump truck! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Nice job Matt!!
To keep the shroud clean on the mig you can use cheap cooking oil to dip it in it stops the little particles from sticking to the shroud.
I use nozzle dip but I also run 100% Co2 because I’m Too cheap to run argon, the side affect of straight Co2 is lots of spatter but still produces a good weld
Brian Millar
Your priority is wrong if you're getting a lot of splatter
Is the international cab really that much taller then the old Ford Matt? 7:30 @Diesel Creek
Almost thought the old truck was going to a new owner
It’s a smart truck now well done Matt 👍🏻
Very cool!! Looks like a fun and rewarding build!!
I knew as soon as you struck the arc it’s a Miller ! Good work young man!

You should use heavy duty latex gloves around all those chemicals to prevent cancer.
