I started my journey a couple of years before with your courses, I love your drawings, explanations, and attitude. this video was a good reminder of those days, thank you, and keep inspiring people like me.
Thank you Brent. Because of you I really got into drawing. I am currently studying anatomy and it all started with your fundamentals and figure drawing course
I just want to thank you for all that you do. I've been trying to learn figure drawing for a while, and gesture drawing has hindered my journey so much, I've quit so many times. I'm currently taking your Gesture course, and for the first time, i actually feel like I'm learning. I've watched so many videos and even took a few courses, and i just couldn't grasp how to go about doing gestures. The way you explain things, i finally understand, and i actually look forward to studying gesture drawing now. again thank you for all you've done. Your basics course was really wonderful also 😊. Thank you.
Figure drawing newbie here. This vid is just what I needed to inspire me to try one of those timed drawing sessions that, until now, seemed a little intimidating to me. 👍
THANK YOU for stating that the initial lines and shapes aren't exactly accurate, and they need refining. I was getting stuck drawing gesture lines and then pigeon holing myself into using that as a "finished" line. I was making too many changes late in the drawing. Great tips Brent! #TeamBrent 😂
Brent's Udemy babies! It's finally happening!!! I'm really excited for this new update. I started learning drawing proper with your courses on Udemy. I had been waiting for more activity on your Instagram and UA-cam. I would love to see you do figure drawing on digital media. This has been a big question for me.
It's really an informative and instructive video! I've been drawing gestures for a few months, but currently I'm really struggling with some more static poses. I can't find a way to exaggerate or dynamize them or even capture the overall action. I think your examples are perfect for showing how to do that, but how do I apply them when it comes to a less motional pose? I'm desperate for advice!🤪
The insights from this video makes the course even more invaluable, totally appreciate it. Can I assume a similar video will be around the corner for the volumetric part of the figure drawing?
Yes, absolutely. Glad to hear that the video enhanced The Art & Science of Figure Drawing: Gesture for you! Please subscribe to be notified when new tutorials are posted.
Hello Brent! I am extremely happy to see that you got Active on your UA-cam channel again! A little bit more then a year ago I was lucky enough to basically kickstart my drawing passion with your udemy courses -drawing basics and the figure drawing courses With my current knowledge and skills required through about a dozent of classic and modern drawing books and the same amount of online courses from different sources I just wanted to tell you how i even more appreciate your teaching style and the true and the solid and honest approaches of your courses! I highly comsidere buying your drawing book as well but do you think it will add substantial information for a person how went through your basica course a couple of times? Also just wanted to let you know that a drawing out of imagination courses from you would be amazing! I am currently struggling with that and in the end that was what i was actually aiming for so if you would be able to provide a structured approach on how to gather that skill it would be amazing! All the Best! Greetings from Austria
Hi Brent, your gesture drawing is awesome.combining it with thr Forcedrawing concepts of Mike Mattesi would be even greater..how can access your nude figure reference for my practice. THANK YOU.
@@evolveyourart Can I use A3 (11.7" x 16.5") paper instead? Unfortunately, anything beyond A2 is quite inaccessible in my area. If I do find it, it's hella expensive, even the newsprint.
Sure. The materials are not as important as the practice. I make my recommendations, but there is no requirement to use any particular paper or pencil. The reason for the larger paper is because you will learn to draw from the shoulder instead of the wrist or fingers. It's much easier to learn to do this on larger paper until your skills become more refined.
People learning figure drawing do need to get comfortable with the human body, which is why all of my figure drawing courses have uncensored photos. UA-cam videos are different because it is a different audience.
@@evolveyourart I know, but it is still weird. I really admire your work and learn from it. But when I see a woman chest etc, I see only the shape and shadows when I am drawing. I think that, it supposed to be like this. So when I dont see the whole composition, then I felt to leave that comment.
Those black boxes are more distracting than what they are hiding. Better to have a woman in a swimsuit. Nevertheless I appreciate your lessons, and am a follower on skillshare.

Another lightbulb video! You make it look so easy! Always avoided doing figures, but now I will definitely get on it and see what I can do! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Remember that it's not easy, it's a lot of practice. Keep on practicing!

Seems a dumb question but, what’s the order to reproduce your videos? I mean, as a beginner?
Hello! Please start with this playlist of Drawing Fundamentals videos: ua-cam.com/play/PL3NZLLClWc6ps8TC-ogsfcDc-KDNk2Z7_.html
Sir where are you from?
Finding it hard to hear your audio. Good tutorial though.
Hello. I look the course on you’re site, and hafe one question to the basic module . How long hafe i access after buying?
Thank you for answer
I don't take lessons from anyone without looking at their portfolio. I've looked everywhere for yours and can't find it. Where is it?
