What's the name of that brick? Asking because I have the same bricks. Which was an interior decorative wall (not structural or load bearing), that I want to make into pizza oven. Doing research about bricks so I know they won't explode when they heat up. Cheers.
Irishman walks into a brick merchant and asks for 40,000 bricks. The merchant asks "Have you got some work on Paddy" ? "Oh, yes" replies the Irishman, "I'm building a BBQ". The brick merchant looks shocked and says "You'll never need 40,000 bricks for just a BBQ Paddy" The Irishman says "But it's on the 10th floor"...
A manual saw is too expensive and it takes forever to cut it. An angle grinder might work, but the diameter of your disc should be large enough for that. And I kinda like to do things with tools that are as primitive as possible (purely mechanical if possible).
He started cutting this brick in 1982 when he was a young man.....just finished.
Thanks for taking the time to coach up newbies!
Bricks should always be cut on a bed of sand ,to obsorbe, the impact, makes a cleaner cut

I like your nanny chisel. I’ve never seen a mason use one. But for inexperienced, it would save your holding hand.
Thanks so much

Wouldn't you need 'fire bricks' for a pizza oven?
The brick is named "dave"
Hollow bricks can be used to soundproof, so it makes sense for that type of wall.
