I have a theory about this song
So my theory is that the song represents star and Marcos relationship so at the beginning it's fast an up beat representing how they quickly became best friends
Then when the song slows down it represents how Marco and star become more distant and Marco begins to date Jackie
Finally the song goes back to the beginning which could possibly represent how their relationship works in the future and that they might actually end up together

This show is deceptively silly most of the time. And then out of nowhere POW! SUPER INTENSE AND SIGNIFICANT MOMENT! This show is actually quite brilliant. Just wished it was a Liiiitle faster paced in delivering said intense, plot-relative plot-progression moment. Then again, when the show will one-day be over, I'll probably look back at it and wish there were more of it, so I won't complain that the show takes its time.
Really? This show is pretty fast paced, considering most shows don't let any main characters date there crushes until 5-8 season deep. And when they do it's a one off episode under weird circumstances, like Timmy and Trixie. Or Danny Phantom and Paulina.

I literally just go to into this show and I assumed from the beginning Marco would eventually be with Star. We're starting with Jarco but I'm pretty sure the end game is Starco, it just makes sense. I'll be fine with either ship really, or neither ship honestly, but Star and Marco have one of the best chemistry in any show I've seen thus far. So really, Starco just makes more sense to me at the moment.

A lot of people say Starco can't happen because Marco has had a crush on Jackie for a very long time, but I think that's invalid. It actually would make more sense that Starco could happen because of that, because he might have feelings for Star, but not be aware of them, because he is just to used to liking Jackie.

Starco is a given. Considering a boy and a girl who are pretty much a good pairing and are BOTH the main characters, everyone can't help but want them to end up together. But the events of "Sleepover" and "Naysaya," a part of me wants to root for Jackie too. Marco has been pining for her for the longest time, and she turned out to be a genuinely good person. But then there's the Bloodmoon which ensures that Starco is how things are going to go down, and I can't help but feel bad for Jackie. IMO that's what's tragic.

Like I've seen the finale and know how it all ends, but damn, the episode where they dance to this and relive the memory just to get the curse severed and then FORGET THE MOMENT THEY FELL IN LOVE literally broke my heart. I'm crying right now. Like, I'm glad that there is no doubt that their feelings are real, but it's just so sad that they don't remember this beautiful moment. And when Star told Marco that she was scared and he said that it was going to work and she said that's what she was scared of. I cried. And then she explained that she didn't want to be controlled by a curse, but that she liked this; them being together. And he agreed and they held eachother tigher. I felt my heart shatter. And then she asks the question, what if it was never the blood moon-? BUT MARCO NEVER GETS THE CHANCE TO ANSWER BECAUSE THE CRYSTAL CRACKS AND THE CURSE BREAKS AND THEY DONT REMEMBER ANY OF IT. I'm kinda reminded a bit of "Once Upon a December" from Anistasia in certain parts, I hum out the words and it fits in certain parts pretty well.
It's a really late reply, but waltzes tend to follow a 1-2-3, 1-2-3, rythym accompanied by either a slow or moderate melody, so waltzes might sound the same in some parts.

When you think about it, Marco is 30-something. He was about 14-16 at the beginning (They aren't seniors) and then spent 16 years in the Neverzone. That's a minimum of 30 years old and 32 years old. Star was the same age as Marco, (They're in the same grade,) so when Marco came out of the Neverzone he had a crush on someone that was half his age, at least. Someone that was _underage,_ even; Neither of them were 18. (They weren't seniors; They had a summer break ahead of them at the end of season 2.) So when you get to the end of the show, Marco needs to have the cops called on him. Even if he _looks_ 14-16 again, he's actually 30-32 in truth.
Starco fans, time to cry... All this time, you've supported a criminal.
Well who knows at the end, after all mostly that age and their effects other than memory's/experience stays on the Neverzone, because I mean if marco is 30, mariposa is 14, and nothing affects her and neither marco, only the memories..
