MERCEDES W124 300E HOT AIR AT VENTS-CLIMATE CONTROL NON-OPT!

- 1992 Mercedes 300E, so the A/C and blower just quits and blasting super heat only comes out at all vents! plus a flashing red light at recirculation switch, so I try to figure out what the issue is, most late 80's and early 90's Benz's get this issue.

you actually use that ashtray. I forgot that is an ashtray. My car has the same problem with blowing hot air when AC is on.
Check mono valve for heat issue, it can be cleaned, also, it needs constant 12 volts to work right, test for 12 volts at connector while AC on, if it drops that can be a issue, weak alternator, CCU can cause heat issue also.
Cool. My car is having electrical issue now it is in a shop for extensive checkup. The new alternator was not able to charge the battery while driving, even though the alternator is working. So the AC problem is likely related to the electrical issue.@@mygermancars7264
Question....did you place that 1000 ohm resistor in that sensor??? Reason I ask I have an R129 just like yours and you are correct these puppies run HOT as hell near the red line and especially for me as I live in the Mohave desert avg summer temp 115-118. I bough a "cool harness" from a guy in San Diego and is exactly what you show on your video except it is in a enclosure that fits on the sensor and it tricks the fans in to coming on at 92 C even w/o the air on. The car runs a lot cooler about 1/2 way on the temp gauge or about 100c.
I saw that guy from San Diego 's page on the net, copied the design, and just soldered 1K resistor, I think the fans are coming on earlier now.
Most 80's 90's Benz's run hot, crazy! they must have been designed for colder climates in Europe
My R129 runs pretty cool here, I've never seen it go over the 100c mark in 100F temps, can't remember his UA-cam channel but there's a guy with a 300 or 320CE convertible red, well he was sick and tiered of putting new cooling parts and car still ran hot, so he put a cooler thermostat from a 1978 R107 SL, fan clutch from more modern Benz etc., check out his mods, I may go that route, I basically replaced every part of the W124's cooling system ,still runs hot. ua-cam.com/video/s1-I5SaaUvI/v-deo.html
Middle vents blow fresh outside air ONLY! No hot or cold.
Find vacuum block location behind glove box, USA model, test all output lines there, see if they hold vacuum, one may not.
Or maybe push button unit faulty
What does the recirculation button actually do? Does it close the flap behind the center vents? Or some other outside air inlet flap elsewhere in the system? I can't tell if mine's working or not but it lights up red.

Still not working!
AC module? is that push button unit?.
What model car? and year?
