    I had 4 kiddos and 3 were back to back. It made them much closer. 2 young ones is hard but well worth it .

    I’m a mother of 4. Saying I have my hands full is an understatement but I love them to pieces. I just stumbled upon your videos on UA-cam. I have to say, I absolutely love your beautiful family, your love, kindness and honesty. Thank you for sharing a Moms real life, whether happy or struggling with being a Mom can get overwhelming at times. Keep up you being you, you’re fantastic. It is always you and your husbands opinion
    (obviously lol). I think yes to having a second baby while Carter’s this young. My older two are just under 2 years apart. We wanted to wait a few months more thinking let’s get through the 3 months of summer at the time. It happened before we were “planning” but having them grow up closer to their age worked. With my younger two I couldn’t decided to have our 4th and waited a little time longer. They are 3 years apart, that worked great as well. Don’t feel pressured you’ll know when your ready. Seeing how amazing with Carter you guys are, your second one will be happy and blessed to be in your family. Please keep your videos going, you always make me smile. 😊

    I would love to see a video on how you teach Carter new words and such.. my son will be two July 11th and he doesn’t say near as many words as your son.. so I would love some tips and tricks 😊 Love your videos btw ❤️

      I almost did this video last week but decided not to at the last minute because I thought it was too specific of a topic on my channel. But I definitely can if people want to see it! The biggest thing I do is talk to him constantly, all day long. It's really tiring haha

    • @haleyhamilton2175
      @haleyhamilton2175 6 років тому +21

      VasseurBeauty maybe try doing a poll or ask on insta or snap to see if people would want to see a video on it, I sure would love to 😊 i talk to my son a lot and he picks up words very fast, I think he is a hands on learner more than anything though lol.. I actually bought some flash cards for him from watching you and when you had some for Carter 😊

    Can't get enough of the cuteness! - those dimples, that smile, the curls in his hair, and now hearing him say words, and "performing"! River dance! TOO Adorable! I'm not a mom, but I love watching how Carter interacts - he's so smart! You're still enjoying little Carter, so I think it's great that you're taking your time with figuring out when you want to have a second child!

    Ahh Brittany. My first son was exactly Carter’s age- 17 months- when my second son was born!!! Lol. Having such a small age gap was definitely hard work just because my first one was still so totally dependent on me and my attention. However if you got pregnant, like, today - you would have a 2 year and 2 month gap between your two kids- you will find this much much easier. My older one is now 2 years and 2 months and so much more independent and able to play alone etc for a good chunk of time, giving me one on one time with my younger one who is now 9 months and started crawling today! You will LOVE having two though. Everyone worries about being able to love two kids because you think all your love is spent on your first- believe me, when you have two kids you don’t have to divide your heart in two- your heart actually expands. Seriously. You won’t believe how much love you have to go around. And if you have another boy carter will have a best friend for life and they will grow up together. But if you have a girl can you imagine how much of a stunner she will be !!! Gorgeous! Xx

    I think going from 1 to 2, you just have to go into knowing everything won’t be perfect right away. Those early weeks are hard, exhausted, mom guilt etc., but remember that you will find a new rhythm that works for your family just like you did with your first. Then you can’t imagine life without them 💕

    I have a 18 month old and a 3 week old. The transition has been an adjustment but so far so good. Having them close together was something I feared but now I think I wouldn’t change it. It’s not as bad as I anticipated. My first was colic ... for SEVEN months ... so my partner and I have developed this mentality that we can now handle anything that comes our way! You can totally do it ! Been watching you since before Carter was born and you got this !!!! Much love from Canada !!!

    It was an adjustment going from one kid to two but it’s gotten easier with each day. The newborn phase was hard, adjusting to new baby’s sleep schedule and night feedings. But now seeing the bond my son and daughter have, it’s amazing. My son is 3 and my daughter just turned 1. My son loves his sister and he loves playing with her, my daughter absolutely adores her brother. It’s so sweet!

    It was easier for me to go from 1 to 2 kids. It was hard for me to go from none to 1. It was easy for me because I already had a schedule set up and was used to mom life. So after baby 2 I tried really hard to just stick with our routine and it seemed less overwhelming.

    • @chrissyb6817
      @chrissyb6817 6 років тому +3

      Ashley Lehmann Agreed. Especially if they are closer in age and you can get them on the same schedule. There's 5 yrs between my oldest and middle and only 1 yr between her and the baby. My oldest is very self sufficient but I still feel guilty sometimes because I have to tell her to play quietly or whatever because the babies are sleeping or she has to wait because I'm feeding, changing diapers, etc. It's obviously not like that with the babies because they can do everything at the same time... Although I do feel like I'm working on an assembly line sometimes.

  • @kristinaharper7496

    Biggest thing I noticed from 1 to 2 babies is the lack of “ME” time. With 1 baby I got to enjoy her nap time or after bed time to relax or get cleaning done. Now that’s few and far between! (19 month difference. Daughter is 22 months, son is 2 months)
    Definitely take help if available to you. Having someone come to watch my daughter just a few days a week for 3 hours honestly reduced my anxiety levels and made the process so much more doable and gave me time to focus on the newborn baby!
    All the best! 💕💕💕💕💕

    How was it going from 1 to 2? Chaos. Total beautiful chaos. Mine are almost 4 years apart. Now that the baby is talking and able to do more, they play together and it’s amazing. The biggest difference that I had a hard time adjusting to is that it’s more difficult to have a schedule. I had our oldest on a great schedule, but once there’s two schedules to keep it gets tougher. It’s worth it though!

      TheMasterSciFi I can’t even wrap my head around how amazing that is. I was still in the hospital when my husband went back to work. Luckily all our family is very close to us and I have a wonderful support, but I can’t even imagine how beneficial and amazing it would have been to have him home longer.

    Routine is an absolute must with young children. You clearly have a very good routine in place already, so having another child will be a bit challenging at first, but you will soon regain your routine to include a newborn. Carter is such a well balanced & adorable child. You are doing a magnificent job. x

    Oh and to answer your question, I had two daughters (grown now). Mine were ten years apart so I admit that the oldest helped a lot. It was still exhausting. I'm glad you got some help. I remember you discussing that.

      Carolyn Sellito mine are 10 years apart too! Was not super excited to start over, but oldest gets to experience and really appreciate the youngest and helps out so much.

    I'm so happy for you. You are such a a sweet family and you seem so much happier now that you have some help with Carter! Ps my mom has 3 kids. When we where small she relied on these things to make it work: 1. babysitters and good daycare places. 2. Family and friends for hand me down clothes, playmates and help. Having a really detailed sorting system for laundry so it was easier to keep up with: baskets in the laundryroom designated to each family member. 3. Keeping dinner super simple and sometimes relying on frozen food (home made)and sometimes partially prepare foods from the shop. Dinner on a weekday would never take more than 30 minutes to prepare. 4. Being firm/strict and drilling us early on the importance of letting her know where we where when we went out to friends and who we hung out with. The freedoms given us where based on mutual trust and this way both her and us kids would have a lot more freedom and free time. As long as she knew where we where and did not do anything bad we got to hang out by ourselves and stuff. It was great.good luck!

    Hi Brittany, I love seeing Carter on your channel, I started watching your channel when I had my first baby daughter(she’s2 now. I now have a son as well (who’s almost 7 months old), so the difference between them is 1.5 years. It does get much harder, there are more stuff to tackle, first of all being the jealousy, so at the very beginning I would advise for you to give most of your attention to Carter, since the little baby only needs from you to eat, to sleep and to be changed in his/her first months (as harsh as it may sound). Second, if the toddler is not potty trained, it means twice as many nappy changes, way more clothes to wash and way less time for yourself. Even with all that, you will be overwhelmed with love and it does get easier as they grow, or you get into a whole new routine and this becomes the “new normal” for you. It did for me, and I’m loving being a mother of 2 now. I’m sorry for the loong message, just trying to be helpful :) Keep it up, I enjoy watching all your videos, no matter the topic :)

    Carter is such a cutie!! I have a 19 month old daughter that loves watching your videos with him- they would make great friends!😉 As far as having another baby (I have 5) I would say you have set yourself up well with a consistent routine with Carter that will ease transition. A lot of adding another baby is trusting your and your hubby's inner voice telling you this is what you want for your family.

    Cleaning is a lot more challenging with two. My second is just very attached and doesn't nap at all unless held.

    I just love your videos, especially when you include adorable Carter!! Going from 1 to 2 was definitely an adjustment at first but then it got so much easier -- especially as Carter grows and becomes more independent. It's having an amazing child like Carter that makes you want to have more! The adorable-ness is addictive -- and don't forget, you're a pro now! xo

    Thumbs up for carter's river Dance from Ireland!Don't worry about having another child like even having one child it's an adjustment you get into a rhythm after the hard first 3 month stage and then it's a breeze although I have heard from friends with 3 children that going from 2 children to 3 was a nightmare Glad i stuck to just 2 I had my two a girl and a boy 2 yrs apart and the second child was born premature so had to be fed every two hours so had no sleep for a couple of mths but glad I had two because they will always they have each other!

    Carter is adorable and so smart! Isn’t it fun! Having a second isn’t as big of a change as the first one. You already know what your doing and it allows you to be much more relaxed. You’ll be great! And Carter is so bright I really thing he won’t be terrible about having a baby in the house!

    There is just under 2yrs between my little boy and girl. It is constant and you dont really get a minute but its so fun watching them grow a little relationship together. You seem to have a very supportive husband like me and you are already a great tag team, so it will be great! Its not as hard as you expect it to be in your head. I found myself to be so much more relaxed about everything 2nd time round and the breastfeeding is very convenient..you can be feeding the baby and the toddler beside you reading a book or sittg feeding himself in high chair. Love your videos xx

    Hi! If you want a second baby you don't need to think to much because you might change your mind 😂😂 you just do it 😉 How will you manage everything ...well you will cross that bridge when you get there 😂😂 and I'm sure you will be just fine. It's a lot easier because you already have experience and it's definitely worth it. If you are afraid of the bad things you might loose some great ones. Just keep doing what you're doing 😉 Hugs!
