tip for everyone setting up rails: screw them in order from one side to the other, instead of doing one screw on each end then moving your way towards the middle. it makes your rails stay in place better and keeps them from getting loose!
I have an even better tip! Start from the middle and work your way out. This is a rule as far as things like screwing down backer board before you lay floor tile and I’ve found it useful in every other aspect. Something to think about.
I’m glad you brought the woodshop/ manufacturer (BBS) into the frame towards the end of your review as they are solely responsible for the quality, pop, feel and durability. I’m a huge fan of BBS boards and highly recommend other brands that they press boards for. With the exception of artwork and shape, the experience is the same. Personally I tend to ride Heroin boards mostly for the English brand heritage which are also pressed and shaped at BBS. The woodshop is the first thing I consider when buying a new board, not the brand.
Zack, A guy named Jack working at The Point skateboard shop in Fairview, TX (Dallas) gave me a Polar skateboard when he saw how worn out mine was. I didn't realize it was such a good board until people started commented on it, & your video really confirms that now...The artwork is really cool on the bottom
I'm riding the same deck and love it. I tried my first Polar board 2 decks ago and I don't think I'll be changing for a while. Really great shape. I miss the wheel well cut-outs on the new decks tho Definitely agree on the boards being a piece of art. Poetic Collective makes beautiful designs too, but hard to get in the U.S.
Fuck yes. Their graphics are top tier, they're using an amazing woodshop (Dwindle), they TELL YOU WHAT WOODSHOP THEY'RE USING in the deck description, and they tell you the exact board dimensions. You couldn't ask for more when buying a new deck.
@@ZackDowdy you are welcome bro! I don’t EVER ask, however, Would you be willing to watch some of my skate videos on my channel? I need some constructive criticism. Thank you for your time and consideration

0:26 Damn I tried skating that spot the other day. Was gonna try to drop in but wasn't sure if it was even possible but your clip here seems like it is possible. I just tried riding up it and doing sort of a wall ride thing. Is there anywhere where I can see the full clip of you skating that spot?
Swedish board and trucks, getting closer to a full swedish skateboard. Legend has it that at that point you get sponsored by a famous Swedish swimsuit team X). Just kidding. Congrats on your new setup. I feel like a child receiving lots of presents when I set up a new.. thing (even bearings).
Love my Polars graphic and it's not bad, but I think it's teaching me I like stubby decks. I came from a Business and Company deck on Aces, and now it feels like the tail is too small, nose is way too long, and both are too steep.
Hey I got a question. I wanna get into transition. Start off by mini ramps. But I still wanna also skate street. What size board do you think I should get? And ace or indies?
Great advice from the homies above, it really depends on your shoe size though. If you're around 9-10 US, I would go with something around 8.35 to 8.5. But I highly recommend (if available) going to your local shop and checking out the different sizes to see what looks best under your feet.
Quasi has a similar shape in thier lineup sometimes. I think the most recent one was the "please go to hell" graphic haha check it out, you might like the shape
love the content but more people need to know that all boards are made from literally 3 companies as blanks then shipped to companies to print onto them. All boards are virtually the same strength and durability wise unless you getting some Powell Peralta shit
Same could said about nearly every consumer product? Alibaba is proof of that. There's a lot more wood shops than in previous years, and they have their own unique process. But yeah, you're buying into the brand a lot of time.
@@stevensepic. yeah I mean it was a pretty valid complaint. The hanger coming off your fucking truck mid trick is a pretty big fault & that actually made me want to wait until they address the issue before spending $90 on trucks
You know what i hate about polar? The shapes. Like explain me whats the difference or something, whats the difference between surfjr and the P9! I bought both and the difference is very little! Welcome skateboards actually has a page where they explain all their shapes. So i bought welcome and polar, but have not set them up, im currently using a lance mountain flip and IT SUCKS, one of the worst boards i ever had, probably made in china since it didnt have country of origin anywhere. Im just waiting for rain and cold weather to go away to set up one of these new boards.
I know what ya mean! The fact welcome tells you what’s up is killer. I just got a Madness board, same deal, I wish the explained the purpose to their shapes. Got the Jack Fardell which has a normal tail and blunt nose which is confusing as to why but just ride I guess, maybe I’ll figure it out.

Probably my local shop’s boards. They felt instantly comfy for me and they are made from generator wood.
Fa Hockey and Polar
Heroin skateboards
I like Polar, something special about how they feel.
Riding a Krooked zip zogger now and loving that.
Keen to try Madness or Heroin soon

Why not getting one of the Polar deck with wheel wells ?

what type of glue do you use on the rails?

My favorite are alien workshop and madness the have wide noses which I like
Use gorilla tape clear adhesive two sided it’s great!!
Was there a reason you set your rails spaced further and closer from the edge?
Just my preference because I can lean into one rail better vs having to balance on both.
use 8-32 5/8 wood screws for rails
