    Beautiful blanket! I love how you explain the border, more specifically the sides. That is the hardest thing for me to get right and I love that you explained the math of it so I stand a better chance of getting a nice, straight (no ripples) border.

    So it seems that if I do the chain 3 and then cluster of two and end with one extra stitch at the end makes a increase! I went from 102 stitches to 106 in just a few rows! So have to pay attention at the beginning of the double crochet rows…. The first “double crochet” is the chain 3 that we did at the end so don’t make the cluster of 3 just leave at 2 total is what I think… hope that makes sense

    Thank you. Well explained and I’m a beginner. The issue with my blanket is it’s folding while I’m moving further. I tried redoing it three time. Idk if it will get fixed in the end. Now I’m gonna continue doing it anyway. Your explanation is fantastic it’s me who is going wrong somewhere.

    • @BobbieJeanM
      @BobbieJeanM 9 місяців тому

      I’m a beginner also and almost always have to redo several times. I’ve been watching several videos this morning and some show a small sample instead of doing the actual full size project. Maybe doing that would help you figure out what is going wrong? Good luck and don’t give up! 👍

      @iris25ayelen 9 місяців тому

      Maybe you were using a smaller hook than the one recommended for your type of yarn or you are crocheting to tight. You could try with a bigger hook or losing a bit of tension. Hope this would help you 😁

    Hello. Thankyou for the beautiful pattern. Could you recommend another stitch for the border rather than a scalloped edge. I'm making this blanket for a baby boy and would rather not use a scalloped edge. Also, what are the finished dimensions of the baby blanket? I look forward to hearing your reply. Thanks so much!

  • @lucyowen270

    Just curious, before i start my border. Ive done this rectangular, so if i have 130 stitches across the top and bottom. Does it matter how many are in the sides? (Providing they are both the same) i want it to be correct so i can do the scalloped edging! Love this pattern so far! X

    • @daryacrochetlife
      @daryacrochetlife  9 місяців тому

      Ideally we want the number of stitches on all sides to be the same, do it's easier to make scallops. Otherwise you'll need to improvise and change scallops pattern a little bit (like skipping 2 sts or doing 3 sl sts)

  • @JC-mp1nv
    @JC-mp1nv 10 місяців тому

    Hi I’m confused about how you figured out the stitches for the width. According to your yarn 10cm*10cm is 22 stitches.. so for 70cm wouldn’t it be 154 stitches? Thanks 😊

    • @Kat_288
      @Kat_288 4 місяці тому +4

      Look up "straight edge crochet tutorial" on UA-cam. If this doesn't help it's either uneven tension or dropping/adding stitches.

    • @daryacrochetlife
      @daryacrochetlife  4 місяці тому +3

      That's probably because you do some mistakes at the end or in the beginning of some rows.

    • @nycatlady2314
      @nycatlady2314 3 місяці тому +3

      Count your stitches on each row as you go. Use stitch markers for beginning/end of row and for each repeat in pattern. These are common mistakes but don’t give up

  • @phoenixashess
    @phoenixashess 5 місяців тому +1

    How did you come up with 132 foundation chains?

    • @daryacrochetlife
      @daryacrochetlife  4 місяці тому

      We need a total number of stitches that are divided by 2 plus 3 stitches. I took 132 plus 3 = 135 chains at the beginning. This size is perfect for newborn blanket.

  • @cowgirlup9784

    Ive made a larger blanket of 200 stitches, how many stitches should I have on the side?

    • @daryacrochetlife
      @daryacrochetlife  4 місяці тому

      That will depend how many rows you're making. For each single crochet row you make 1 stitch on a side, for double crochet row 2 stitches.

    During the border part of the video you mentioned you had 130 stitches. If you started with 135 chains and skipped the first 3 chains on the first row, shouldn't you have 132 through the whole project or did i miss something?

      @@kerryc7502I wasn't asking about the beginning, if you read my question, i was asking about the border. She says she counted her stitches and has 130, at around 17:25 in the video. I'm well aware that 132 plus 3 is what she started with, I'd like to know how it dropped to 130 when it was finished.
