I've been carrying mine for decades and it never lets me down. I also like 1911 pistols and bolt-action rifles. If that makes me a Fudd, then so be it.😊
That's awesome! The 110 is such a classic knife, and it's great to hear that you have a special one from your grandpa. Those sentimental pieces really do hold a special place in our hearts.
Nice knife! My pops gave me an old 112 from late 70's and I just ordered a 110 automatic last night. I want finger groove versions of the 110 & 112 as well. I dig it!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching. Finger grooves are hard to find. I've had the 112 and gave it away because the 110 just feels so much more at home and natural in my hand.
Is it just me or do you like the older ebony on the buck 110. The new ebony is so dark it’s hard to see the grain pattern. I prefer the more brown look to contrast the brass.
I bought a 110 at an estate sale for my son , I thought it would be good for a hunting knife, took it I in to have it sharpened and thought they would've cleaned it up but didn't, could you please tell me what I should do and notdo.. I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff.😢. Thanks for your help
Buck offers a couple different services. Sharpening and then a Spa treatment. Lots of people send their knives in for sharpening and want to keep all the dings and dents and scars on the rest of the knife because those trigger memories and are signs of hard work and history. As far as guiding you as to how to polish up your son's knife, I have no idea the condition or extent of repair that is needed. It usually takes proficiency with small files and varying grades of abrasive and polishing wheels. Thanks for watching.
the heavier one is actually safer, especially if you use it for it's intended purpose (skinning game). All that brass makes the handle weighty and it's nice and wide, aka the handle stays in your hand even if your fingers are cold and wet
I did a video about just this subject. It's either this one: ua-cam.com/video/0fzJDMQmwbU/v-deo.html or this one: ua-cam.com/video/CfDpi6ZZkdY/v-deo.html I can't remember. But, it is a "manufactured wood" called Dymondwood (I believe) and is no longer available. It would have all sorts of interesting grains. And, for the most part, they would match the scales pretty close. This one was perfect, so of course I had to have it.
It is heavy. And sure...a little impractical, but still a decent EDC in the sheath or back pocket. But in all honesty, a Spyderco Paramilitary clipped to your pocket is probably the best thing you could ever carry.
Mr. Duke, My father lived in Upstate New York, studied and respected the history of the Five Nations! I have never known an Oneida, but am intrigued by your reference to tribal design on a Buck 110. I looked for a pic as I'm sure would have shared one fresh but so far back in pics I can't find it, my current buck is more industrial, but has a plastic handle, but idk if you fallow my feeds but I'll try make a video or share a pic next time I customize one
They are getting overpriced, I understand that they have a good reputation but that was partly due to the fact they were a budget knife, when you start seeing them sell for two hundred bucks, you are definitely not getting value for dollar, for that price I could buy a knife that would outlive outcut out perform any buck blade,
Could not agree with you more. Yes, they have gotten over priced. I watched them go from $38.00 to $42.00 in a month and then shortly after Covid started, $66.00 at Wally World. I was stunned. I actually gasped out loud. They went from being my source for project knives to being ridiculous. Sure they is a lot of brass and Ebony wood, but $66.00? Nope. The price of some of the "Custom Shop" ones are stupid expensive. Nope there as well.
I agree. I paid $18 for mine new in 1979, and still keep it in mind condition. At that price it was a good deal. It's still an awesome knife, but I've upgraded my EDC to a custom Benchmade. Now that's a knife worth every penny.
Even the dog has good taste.
Yes indeed. Thank you!
It knows what sh smells like...
One of the best knives ever made
It's a classic and always will be
Absolutely! Classics have a timeless charm that never fades.
Passed the sniff test!
Even dogs dog the 110!👍
Absolutely!
I think it’s reasonable to put the Buck 110 into the “man’s best friend” list 😎
Absolutely! The Buck 110 is definitely a classic and has earned its spot as a reliable companion for many outdoor enthusiasts.
I love how doggo just came in for a quick snorf
Buck 110. Dog approved. ;)
Woof woof! Absolutely!
True American Classic!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🔪🔪🔪🔪🔥🔥🎯🎯

A Fudd? Nah, I prefer the term “classic enthusiast.” After all, someone has to keep the old-school vibe alive!
Well that would make me one too.
I have more 110s than any other knife. The one from the mid 70s that my grandpa gave me will always be my favorite though
That's awesome! The 110 is such a classic knife, and it's great to hear that you have a special one from your grandpa. Those sentimental pieces really do hold a special place in our hearts.
Such an iconic click
That is for sure. Love it!!!
Like the knives, but the dog stole the show :--) 👍
I should get one with finger grooves. The only Buck I own with finger grooves is a 1984 Bucklite with OD scales. Love it though..
It makes the knife a lot lighter. I think they do a great job with them. Glad you like it.
@@knifetimestory So this one with grooves is lighter than regular? By how much?
@@Sphyn0x Depends on how much your fingers weigh 🤣🤣🤣

Totally with you on that! The old ebony had a vibe that just pops with the brass. The new one’s like trying to read in a blackout!
My first knife, bought new in 1974.
That's awesome! It must hold some great memories from all those years ago.
Lazy Beaver beat me to it!! Cute dog, classic taste in lock-blade folders!!
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!
Love old style traditional full of brass Buck 110s!
Can’t beat them!
Now that's proper❤
Thank you! Glad you like it!
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌

Knife is very nice❤
I’m glad you think so! It’s definitely one of my favorites.
Love the Buck 110 but the Buck 110 slim is the bomb same blade and lock but far lighter knife and it has a pocket clip!!!👍😎
Glad you have had success with the lightweight, I can’t find one with solid lockup!!!
@@knifetimestory no problems with lockup at all mine locks up tight..lost one ina house fire and bought a replacement no issues with either

Sniffing the butt.. Yes, yes, it's a friend.
Ha ha ha. I never thought of it that way. Very good!
Very good knife. But very impractical for EDC. I like knife for EDC with liner lock and tip down clip.

j'adore beaucoup les buck knife 110 pour son les meilleurs couteau du monde selon moi.
They are great!!! Thank you for watching!!!
On mine because I'm Oneida, I usually have tribal design, and I usually take inspiration from like Mayan culture as to surviving art I look up to
Cool. On behalf of every European American, I am sorry.
Thanks

What’s up with your cuffs yo??
It’s a hooded sweatshirt that has sleeves a little longer than all my other hooded sweatshirts.
what, finger grooves? Very nice and what a score with those scales
Yes… These are very rarely seen out in the wild. I’m not even sure they still make them. I could be wrong.
What’s the deal with the scales? I just received one from my dad with the same scales as the knife on the left and it says “110 C•”

You had one word to write, and you misspelled it. Wow. That is the mark of a true idiot.
70s was first Harley Davidson and first Buck 110.
