Welcome to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, where the world's finest riders compete at races across America over a grueling months-long schedule of races for the number one spot.
There's a ton of information on the sport and the racing online, but what about the dirt? How do they maintain the track during the event? And where does all the dirt go when the checkered flag comes down?
We traveled to the latest SX event in St. Louis to find out!
Enter Dirt Wurx-the amazing company and team behind every track on the calendar. Every week, they build, maintain, and remove the track at each stadium before moving to the next.
Thanks to Feld Entertainment, we had an all-access pass to the racing and post-race activities.
If you haven't attended a Supercross event, make it happen! It's AWESOME!

I’m a supercross fan and have worked construction running heavy equipment. So the track and how it’s made and the logistics of it all have always intrigued me. I’ve pieced it all together thru the years of watching supercross on how they do it. But nothing like this video you made. So thank you for doing it!! Great job.

Something else that should be mentioned is how ridiculously hard these people work. Not only are race days usually a 20 hour work day but they don’t get to go home all season long aside from the one off weekend. They’re a truly special group of operators

Attendance is normally very good at each Supercross round. I flew out to Anaheim 1 (Angels Stadium) and it was sold out for both rounds. They will leave the dirt in the stadium at some rounds and mix in monster trucks. In Arlington, TX (cowboys stadium) I was told the stadium does a dirt month, rodeos, monster trucks, etc. Add in NBC revenue, feld entertainment does very well.

    • @busslayer4790

@@AndrewDeVries211 I didn't think of the media and sponsors revenue. Doing rough calculations in my head considering the amount of earth moving going on, ticket sales alone didn't feel like enough to break even, especially in smaller venues/markets.

The dirt is used year after year and stored offsite, so it’s the same dirt each year. They also try to follow monster jam and the dirt can be left in the stadiums (Both owned by FELD Entertainment)

Thanks to the companies for them letting you film. Maybe NBC wont be such a pain next time and let you show some of the race. This vid is interesting, I never knew how this happened, and then the stadium would have a band come in the next week. The only thing I was curious about that you didn't answer was that Im sure the entire stadium was a mess, and you don't need to show that, thank you. But if they picked up the trash and cleaned the restrooms, how much dust does the dirt cause in the stadium due to dust? I bet that after the dirt is all moved out, they have to dust all the seats or use a wet paper towel to get all the dirt out. You don't have to worry about dust and the mess it makes in most vids, but this one a lil different. just curious

I’m most day cabs there’s a back window that never has light shining through it unless your bed is up as well so I’ll never understand how guys hit stuff with their bed up constantly.
