Thanks for watching as always everyone! This one was certainly an adventure and, as always, started out seemingly simple before realizing some of the nuances this many games and segments can introduce. 🤣 All that said, I really hope it was as enjoyable as the others! I try to keep everyone updated in my community posts about future videos and long term plans. Basically: lots more pokemon, but I will try to throw in some other challenges once in a while like this one. I am also working on one big video for one of my fave series that we have yet to take a look at. That one has developed into it’s own set of videos before the eventual big one, the first of which I might be releasing next, but we will see. 😉 Anyways, hope you enjoyed and can’t wait to finish the next one! ☺💙
Not gonna lie, when i saw this challenge i was like "ohh, i know the answer to this one." But then i remember how the 3d games changed things up and was like "ohh, now i know."
Add me to the "thought it'd be Beam" category, because I thought "Oh, Sword! Wait, no, that's a fairly recent thing, and this is covering the WHOLE series..." ...but those recent games really did it!
I love how you actually speedran it, unlike every other video on this topic i've seen where they see how fast they can get [Insert Here] While playing casually
Thanks so much! I personally love content that goes deep into a topic in general so I feel like it partly comes from my interests there. Taking this kind of approach always seems to lead me down crazy research trails that I hope helps build an engaging story within the challenge. :D
Both are useful as tutorials as either midrange or fast attacks with simple usage. If I had to guess it's because of the multifaceted functionality that they went with after Super Star Deluxe, which sword showcases better than beam.
I also watched your last video, and I like having multiple things to keep track of, like which eeveelution or which copy ability, it adds and extra layer to this genre of "Speedrunning the first few minutes of a bunch of games"
While everyone was admiring Kirby as a cute fluff ball, they were secretly learning the way of the blade The KSP also reminded me of Vanquish and how stupid it looked when sliding through sections of the level lol
5:40 the dyna blade sub-game is available from the start of the snes game kirby super star. and there is a sir kibble in the first room of the first stage of that sub-game
I popped into this video to make fun and point out that it's physically impossible to get any copy ability in _Kirby's Dream Land._ But then, I saw you made a funny skit about that very fact. Well played, sir. Well played. 👍
I guessed sword and I was right! I wish there was some way to gamble on UA-cam channels' growth, because I think you're going to be one of those rising stars! Your videos have all been insanely fun to watch and I'm looking forward to what challenges are next (maybe how quickly you can evolve a Pokemon? How fast you can get an item in each Mario Kart (that'd be a challenge to research!))
Great call on sword! ;) And that is extremely kind, thank you for all the support! I really love making these and always hope to give it my all. :) Those are great ones as well! Mario kart had also crossed my mind when brainstorming before, I could totally see something like that. :D
I don't know if this is too complex or lenghy for a challenge, but I'd like to see you do a challenge whete you see how long it takes you to: 1. Catch or trade in a group of smeargle and 2. Teach them one move of every type In terms of a story, you could think og it as "a trainer wants to paint an amazing piece to celebrate their regional journey through to the top, but needs an attack of each type to have the right amount of paint."
I was almost certain that Beam or Cutter would be the most quickly accessible, but given how iconic the Sword ability is it's no surprise that newer games have made it more readily available.
I did guess Sword and Beam for the top two, at least. Sword because it's often a "tutorial" thing and Beam because it's the very first ability presented in the series.
My bet was on sword, since is my favourite ability and i tought it will win since it's one of the first ability you get in kirby games, but when the BEAM ATTACK started dominating the competition i was losing hope, but in the end my loved sword won destroying everyone with the combo of Star Allies and Forgotten Land and in that moment I was really happy
going into this video, I assumed sword would be the most common as I've played very few Kirby games and remember seeing a lot of sword as the first ability. I was honestly surprised to see so many beams lol
These are always very interesting runs! I would personally love to see a run of the Pokemon games, as kinda a continuation of your pikachu run, how fast you can get and EVOLVE a Pikachu in every game. Raichu deserves some love too.
Thanks so much for the support, really glad you enjoyed the non pokemon video as well! I will certainly keep this in mind when planning future pokemon videos. :D
fun fact: the remake of kirby's return to dream land has 3 abilities that weren't in return to dream land, 2 of which are brand new, and 1 of which comes from star allies (however, the first copy ability in the game is still sword and the game is still possible to beat without jumping)
I can't believe I was right about swords being the most common first copy ability. The only Kirby I've played is forgotten Land and I've only played a couple worlds in that game.
yo i actually guessed mostly correctly on this one!! i first guess sword then remembered waddle doos are common so changed my guess to beam! one off from being perfect :]
obviously the first copy ability in dreamland 1 is when kirby first gets a superspicy curry or a mike (preferably mike since the anime specifically states superspicy curry to not be a copy ability) honestly, even not including yarn kirby as its own copy ability in a way, you could do the remake for that since it'd still only be doing one of the games (due to original epic yarn being non-applicable in that case) no argument for mass attack lol great vid
in the very first kirby game, kirby can eat bombs, mics, spicy curries, and mint leafs/sweat potatos that give him abilities but I'm not sure if they count as copy abilities
apologies if people havw already said this but-forgotten land is absolutely a main series game right? it mixes things up a lot but it still has copy abilities and platforming front and center. it feels exactly like a standard kirby game just with one extra axis to work with. (and for what its worth, WiKirby (the kirby wiki) agrees with me on that)
Going into this I'm expecting an entire playthrough of dreamland and 6 seconds of every other Kirby game. Maybe an entire playthrough of mass attack or epic yarn if spin off games are included.
I've seen enough of Kirby being a ravenous glutton. Why not highlight his other standout trait: being a friend? *How fast can you meet or make a friend in every Kirby game?* Here are my takes. I haven't played, and can't play, all of them, so they're not all listed. Dream Land 1: After beating the Extra Mode (which means essentially just a category speedrun), Dedede starts crying in despair and sulks off, but Kirby, concerned for his well-being I guess, follows him. Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land: Another game where you basically have to beat it, because Dedede's being kind of a jerk so he and Kirby aren't friendly to each other until they beat Nightmare. Meta Knight mysteriously alternates between helping Kirby by dropping Invincibility Candy in his path and siccing the Meta-Knights on him, so it's safe to say this is more about honor than friendship. Dream Land 2: Find your first animal buddy. Super Star: Create a Helper from your first obtainable Copy Ability. Dream Land 3: Once again, find an animal buddy! OR, spawn in Gooey! 64: Easiest one yet, just watch the intro cutscene up until Kirby meets Ribbon! Amazing Mirror: I wouldn't count the intro this time. While Dark Meta Knight splits Kirby into four, that doesn't mean they're "friends". They're like siblings, or clones, or a hive mind. The first distinct entity we can call a friend would be either Shadow Kirby, a misguided good guy fighting to protect his home dimension, or Meta Knight when he shows up in the second Dark Meta Knight fight to out the imposter. Air Ride: Again, counting the other Kirby colors as extensions or family, NOT friends! Basically get into a race with Kirby and any character other than himself as quickly as possible. Squeak Squad: Kirby is distrustful of Dedede again, so just meeting him doesn't count. You have to beat him and see the cutscene where the Squeaks reveal themselves as the true thieves, then Dedede helps Kirby chase after them-by throwing him at them. Mass Attack: Daroach goes straight from foe in the previous game to friend in this outing, so play up until you meet him. Epic Yarn: Play until Kirby meets Prince Fluff. Return to Dream Land: Sit through the opening cutscene again. Magolor might not REALLY be a friend, at least not yet, but Kirby also meets up with what are now officially his three main co-stars: Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee! Triple Deluxe: You could count the intro cutscene again where Kirby breaks into Castle Dedede just in time to see the king being kidnapped, but I wouldn't really call that "meeting", more like "witnessing". Instead, play up until the first time Bandana Waddle Dee appears in the background to give you a stock item. Rainbow Curse: Watch the intro cutscene where Kirby is hanging out with Bandana Waddle Dee. Planet Robobot: Same deal as Triple Deluxe. Battle Royale: Kirby starts the game traveling alongside Bandana Waddle Dee. Another intro-only victory. Star Allies: Throw a Friend Heart at the first enemy the game will allow you to turn into a Friend. Forgotten Land: I don't remember if Bandana Waddle Dee is hanging out with Kirby in the intro cutscene before everything goes nuts, but if he doesn't, just get to the point where you can spawn him in as Player 2 ASAP. Super Smash Bros. series: Get into a team battle with Kirby and any character other than himself on the same team as quickly as possible. They are considered "met" as soon as the entrance animations finish.
how fast can you obtain all copy abilities that aren't last battle abilities, super abilities, or hypernova in every kirby game? (and what is the final copy ability that isn't one of those to be seen in the game?
"the first of 2 3ds games" actually, technically, if counting spin-offs, there are 5 kirby 3ds games with copy abilities, but in 3 of those games, copy abilities work differently from in platformers as you just select them at the start of the game (those 3 are kirby fighters deluxe, team kirby clash deluxe, and kirby battle royale)
Thanks for watching as always everyone! This one was certainly an adventure and, as always, started out seemingly simple before realizing some of the nuances this many games and segments can introduce. 🤣
All that said, I really hope it was as enjoyable as the others! I try to keep everyone updated in my community posts about future videos and long term plans. Not gonna lie, when i saw this challenge i was like "ohh, i know the answer to this one." But then i remember how the 3d games changed things up and was like "ohh, now i know."
I knew sword was going to be up there simply because of the newer games. Using it as a tutorial for the copy abilities and their directional inputs
Yeah same. I thought it as number 1 solely because I forgot beam was more common in old games, which paid off with the difference in game count.
I like how in all the other games took less than 2 minutes to get an ability but in block ball it took more than 13 minutes
This was one of my fave things about the runs as it is just so silly 🤣
Add me to the "thought it'd be Beam" category, because I thought "Oh, Sword! Wait, no, that's a fairly recent thing, and this is covering the WHOLE series..."
...but those recent games really did it!

I was surprised sword won instead of beam, waddle doos are everywhere lol.
That's exactly what I was thinking going through this as well. XD
Both are useful as tutorials as either midrange or fast attacks with simple usage.
If I had to guess it's because of the multifaceted functionality that they went with after Super Star Deluxe, which sword showcases better than beam.
just from the title i cant imagine how hard this would have been, awesome job!!!
MOOP!!! Thank you!!! 😍 it was weird having segments so short compared to Pokemon runs but certainly offered a unique challenge. 🤣🤣🤣
It seems everyone forgot Extra Epic Yearn which ultimately added copyable abilities to epic yarn
I’ve been playing through the older games so much that I thought it was gonna be beam! Really cool video I always love to see Kirby challenge runs
That’s awesome! Really glad you enjoyed!:)
Void termina looks like the final boss in Majora's mask
I also watched your last video, and I like having multiple things to keep track of, like which eeveelution or which copy ability, it adds and extra layer to this genre of "Speedrunning the first few minutes of a bunch of games"
Thanks so much! Glad you are enjoying the approach, I totally agree! I feel it gives these challenges a bit more mystery 😊😊😊
This was a great series shake up! I also especially liked the narrative framing for this one. Yet another banger video.
Thanks so much Bright, really glad you enjoyed the video and approach! :D
While everyone was admiring Kirby as a cute fluff ball, they were secretly learning the way of the blade
The KSP also reminded me of Vanquish and how stupid it looked when sliding through sections of the level lol
LOL so true!
Thank you Sev, I imagine Kirby will continue their silly slide forever. XD
i already knew this was a great channel but adding kirby into the mix? even better
Thank youuuuu!!!!

What a fun video! Let's hope this satiates Kirby for now
At the start, I knew it was gonna be sword. But this was such a fun video
Thanks a bunch, stoked you still enjoyed!:)
I'm picky with the channels I watch you are one of the best
Thank you! That means a ton! ☺
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn:
This is so good, everything you make is its crazy
My first Kirby game was triple deluxe, and I knew it would be sword or beam
I guessed sword and I was right!
I wish there was some way to gamble on UA-cam channels' growth, because I think you're going to be one of those rising stars! Your videos have all been insanely fun to watch and I'm looking forward to what challenges are next (maybe how quickly you can evolve a Pokemon? DUDE KIRBY EXTRA EPIC YARN HAS COPY ABILETIS!
You forgot the remake of Kirby’s epic yarn on 3DS.
Awesome work, as always. I haven't played a Kirby game in quite awhile but you've made me want to dust one of my old copies off again ❤
Thanks a bunch as always! Really glad this one was still a fun time! :D
BABE WAKE UP, NEW SEMAJ VIDEO JUST DROPPED
PLEASE!!!!
How long would it take to get a ring in every Sonic game could be a fun challenge
We totally need to try a sonic run at some point! :)
@@semaJChmaybe how fast you can get a 1up (either rings or physical 1ups) since the touch ring videos have been pretty much done to saturation
Oh, this is a delight! I love your videos a lot, and this is such a fantastic topic to tackle!
My guess for most common would be sword and beam!
Thanks so much, stoked you enjoyed! 😊

what about the kirby's epic yarn remake for the 3ds?
There are the Ravel abilities there, which serve as copy abilities
Kirby after eating animals alive and harvesting their souls: 😃
LOL
I predicted Sword would be more, but I was starting to second guess when Beam starting showing up a bunch.
appreciate you referring to kirby as a they as in the original versions
damn, no epic yarn 3ds version, i mean i guess its technically right since theyre called ravel abilites
fun fact: the remake of kirby's return to dream land has 3 abilities that weren't in return to dream land, 2 of which are brand new, and 1 of which comes from star allies (however, the first copy ability in the game is still sword and the game is still possible to beat without jumping)
Nice to see you upload again
Thanks Wraith! Really happy to have the next one done as well! 😊
There are more Kirby games than I thought. Sword Kirby is my favorite!
I was torn between Sword and Beam for which would have the most. Funny thing is, they both were the two highest! XD
So excited for this one as a Kirby enthusiast
Let's goooo! I hope you enjoy!!! :)
Finally someone who used they/them for Kirby
KIRBY!?! So excited, keep it up!:)
Kirby saw 4 Swords Adventures and was like "Hold my pyoooo"
I can't believe I was right about swords being the most common first copy ability. The only Kirby I've played is forgotten Land and I've only played a couple worlds in that game.
Since your doing other game challenges try getting a non-mushroom power up in every Mario Game
That does feel like a fun time that would follow well from this one! Thank you! 😊
@@semaJCh no problem
I really like your content
I love Triple Deluxe and Robobot. I have them on my 3ds. I can't wait for whatever Kirby game I get next

The best Kirby game is 64 it’s my favorite but forgotten land

1:27 BEAM ATTACK!
Masahiro Sakurai is known for being one of the cutest characters in gaming history (also character designer of Kirby)
kirby air ride is the first and so far only kirby game where freeze shows up but burning doesn't
0:45 BEAM ATTACK
What a treat!
Agreed!!!🍰
I'm surprised Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn wasn't counted
My bets on sword.
Im count this as my win for the week.
Looks like you were number one! #1 ;)
0:49 Sword and Cutter. Both in top 5 at minimum(top 3 but im not going to let Hubris kick me)
apologies if people havw already said this but-forgotten land is absolutely a main series game right? it mixes things up a lot but it still has copy abilities and platforming front and center. it feels exactly like a standard kirby game just with one extra axis to work with.

13:15 zelda cameo 😩
GOTTA LOVE KIRBY!!!!
Going into this I'm expecting an entire playthrough of dreamland and 6 seconds of every other Kirby game. Maybe an entire playthrough of mass attack or epic yarn if spin off games are included.
Now make it bigger, with getting every ability
1 kirby game: YOU SHALL NOT PASS.
Extra epic yarn actually has copy abilities even though epic yarn doesn't
1:50 that took an embarrassing amount of time for me to understand
We love our genderless ball of eldritch horror

This was wonderful to watch! While I was correct about the most common first copy ability, I actually thought there would be more of it!
