In this the second of two episodes we finish the wheelbays, build the nose, and assemble the wings to the fuselage. My Patreon pages are at www.patreon.co...
Sir! Would just like to say how much I really enjoy your channel and builds. I’ve been building models for over 50 years and I my humble opinion I think this is how you should build them. Your calm and concise narration is very engaging without any annoying music and a nice touch with the sounds of the aircraft. Loved the CR 42 build and I am totally absorbed with your Tempest build having just finished episode 3. Many thanks for sharing and keep up the excellent work. Best regards Martin.
Wow! I am watching with bated breath,i have the Revell version of this kit,i have yet to open the kit box, i had the kit for Christmas and didn’t want to scare myself knowing what type of mess you can find on looking at the same kit different company, i have been waiting for a video series just like this to give me hope that it is buildable, well done mate .
Hi Steve, the Tempest is looking fantastic, you certainly have a eye for detailing, I am looking forward to the painting episode, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
This kit seems to be fighting you every step of the way. I do agree with you about tackling a 'problem' kit every now and then, it keeps your skills sharp looking at a problem and coming up with a solution to fix it. I believe that some modelers today are becoming complacent with all the high tech kits now on the market so going back to a kit that has fit issues will help you in the future. Good work as always.
when are we going to see the Lancaster build , cant wait to see that series , i have the kit on order ( opted to pre order the new dambuster variant ) and waiting to build it alongside you
Thanks a lot Steve! Every minute of yours videos is really a great school for me, plenty of tricks and teaching of art...In your last video Tempest #3 I saw a fiberglass pencil. How you use and for what? By from Italy!
Prego Stefano. I use the fibreglass pencil to rub away excess adhesive or rough areas. It is very gentle on the plastic and doesn’t scratch the surface. You use it just like a normal pencil. I hope that helps. 👍
Hi Steve , can I say that I really enjoy your presentation approach your technically precise and descriptive, you could easily be presenting a watch making repair channel. My only criticism, what’s happened to the background pheasants and sheep noises? 😂😂😂 great video thanks very much for posting it. 👍👍👍
😂😂I don’t know - the pheasants are around but they’re being quiet for a change. The sheep are grown up now - it’s usually the lambs that make the most noise. They’ll be back making a racket in spring 👍
That was some fantastic work on the surface detail. You’re doing this kit some real justice and I’m picking up a few things that are good to know about this kit, for the build.
Hi Steve, I'm not sure if you have tried an alternative to heavy primer surfacer for seams, using thick black carbon CA. It does take a while to cure, best overnight or hot air dry, but it doesn't sink and sands out well without damaging the surounding plastic. Kind regards Dave Porter London
Hi Steve, great build series, I built this kit a couple of years ago, I encountered all the problems you have. I take on kits like this as a challenge and overall I enjoyed the build, great job on the radiator intake.👌
I can't believe a kit with that many serious flaws in fit could have ever made it into production. Fortunately, your modelling skills are beyond exemplary, and you managed to do this kit some justice. Great work Steve and Happy Modelling. 👍
Looking amazing! Looks like the modifications are really paying off. Love the build, and am really looking forward to the finish line! As always, greatly anticipating the next update!

Thanks - I expect the Revell being a Redbox will be just the same. Hope the video series helps. 🤞
A thoroughly engrossing watch, Steve. 56 minutes flew by. I am looking forward to seeing that engine being detailed and painted.
Thanks John
Always liked the Tempest since I built a smaller one as a kid - great model so far Steve 👌

Thank you but there’s a tempting looking Tamiya F16 at the end of the bench - looking forward to that falling together after this one 😃
Lovely work I've just subscribed to your channel after watching your F 35 build which I've subsequently bought because of it 👍
Thank you and enjoy the F35

Great video I’m starting my kit this week. What happened to the front lower part of the bulkhead it’s gone
It served its purpose when gluing the fuselage and wings together but it was in the way of getting the nose fit correct
@@TheModelShed ok good info I’m at the point in my build wheel bay and your video is a big help.
Brilliant work.
I love the pipework
cheers Jerry
perserverence wins the day.
Hope so Paul 👍
Great build could you tell me what tweezers you are using please?
Thanks They’re ophthalmic forceps don’t think you can buy them commercially 🤔
@@TheModelShed I screenshot you video and did a reverse image search and I managed to find some
Is the brief appearance of the Yak-1 a teaser for a new WW2 ace's build?
it is Sean - Lilia Litvyaks a/c. it’s being painted atm
I am looking forward to this one.

That’s good to know Mike
That was a real pleasure to watch. So much to learn from your build series. Cheers. Ken

The finish line feels a way off just now Raleigh - it will turn out eventually I’m sure. Stay tuned
Nice work bro
👍
Nice work Steve, I love your attention to detail.
Thank you John👍
Wonder if soaking the cowl piece in hot water would soften it up
possibly but it’s a risky thing to do 😬
great work on wheel bays, engine and engraving
Cheers Mick
