I followed her instructions and I haven't washed in 3 wks, I use castor oil on my scalp only. I oil my scalp every 4-5 days. My hair hasn't been dry or crunchy since I began this regimen. I was shocked! I used to wash every other wk and spray my hair twice a day(morning & night) with water & my hair was still so dry. Living in a city with harsh hard water was drying out my locs. I know her advise works, give it a try! Thanks Yannie!
Thank you IndigenousWombman, your Locs sound like mine, I have been using the castor oil on my scalp 4-5 days, Rose water and Vitamin E for two months now and I have noticed a huge difference, sides of hair line growing back. Yes, Yannie's advise does work!
you never lied I came from having a perm thinking I was spending too much money on perms and and weaves then I get locks I get trapped is spending more money on garbage love you Yanni preach
Thank you Yannie! I've been mentally struggling with my frizzy locs (you know -the image in my mind versus reality). Learning to embrace them as they are, accepting the frizz as normal and lovely (and of course, disrespectful!) is a part of my growth on this journey!
Yannie PLEEEEEEASE do a video on oils and how they work with one another! I'm only one week into my loc journey and learning more than I ever have in the 6 years of my loose natural hair journey.
Yannie, I have been following you for a year now, I have followed all your instructions for caring for my Locs and the results are great. It's been four months since my last wash, how do I keep the Locs twisted when I retwist them?
You see, I'm from Brazil (the northeast, specifically). I can't stand not washing my hair every week or so, because the heat drives me crazy and I just sweat so much!
Hi yanni I have being watching your video and I love it I have learned a lot thank I use to go get my lock twisted but now I do my self. I think I'm doing a few Job but I wish you was in my area Connecticut.
Glynis from Virginia, I love all your advice, everything is true, "I am awaken", my hair is so damaged from the loctician putting dye in my hair, cutting my fuzz, and using knots to loc my hair for over ten years. My hair is dry, stiff, brittle, thinning out, Locs break off. After watching many of your videos I learned much, now I want to embrace my hair, do I cut the damaged Locs off or do I begin with the new growth (I don't even call what I have Locs, I say this is a bunch of straw)? I have been eating clean for over a year (no salt, sugar, pork, processed foods, sodas, and I drink a gallon of water a day). What do I do? Glynis Robertson from Virginia. Thank you. You are great!!!
Glynis Robertson, I've started taking diatomaceous earth and Chlorophyll. It will do wonders for your locs...also black seed oil. Research them and see if they will work for you.
one month after following Yannie's instruction of cleansing, using rose water and vitamin E, and castor oil (every 4-5 days), my locs are fuzzy with new growth.
I'm sure you wont see this but you are amazing and your RASTA rudeness is awesome. i'm 18 months into my loc journey and I will follow your regiment to the TEA for ME of courseand let you know how it goes in a few weeks. thanks for the advice
Bless l have long dreadlocks l your to ttwist my dreadlocks l do not twist no more l free from locks my locks are thin and l leave it l have some dreads that fall off long time l lift the ones that fall off in a bag l late damage looks to grown it has grown a bit on the side
@8:50 I just realized from her perspective its irresponsible to give 1 size fits all hair advice. What works for some wont work for other, may even cause damage.
ok, I'm going to try this. Gonna buy some rosewater, and mist daily, weekly? I get the "no shampooing" thing, but no rinsing in the shower or nothing? I feel like my scalp is going to sooooo itchy!! Can't go cold feet buy will cut down the drenching of my locs to once a week....or twice lol.....this is coming from water only technique which I followed prior to loc'n
skorpyanj....Remember, water actually leaves your locs feeling dry after it evaporates, if you have soft water then you'll probably be ok, but if you have hard water, try rinsing with distilled... I also don't use just any rosewater. I use rose distillate or rose hydrosol...so read the ingredients before you buy. I purchase mine from a website that sells products for soapmaking....because I'm cheap, lol and I like buying the 1 litre size because I have to spritz a couple times a week...I also add a capful of MSM....I noticed that using less products keeps your locs and scalp very clean smelling....go figure, lol
Oooh, good idea about the soapmaking supplies. I know rosewater can get expensive, I bought a bottle.....once. There is a soapmaking store in my area, but who got time to actually go into a store?
please help me 😊 i just started my locs with two strand twist on waist length natural hair about 3 months ago. what exactly should i be doing epically since i started with so much hair? also im experiencing a ton of fly away strands wrapping around other twist, is it ok to pull the apart...for a better look at my hair i have my starter video in my channel "from natural to locs". thanks
Hi. I noticed from this video I have been washing too often. I started my locs with two strand twists 4 months ago. I have bad dandruff now and plan on taking your advice but I want to know how to detox my scalp and get it clean and shiny like you did for hers in the video? Also will you ever be in Indiana?
Greetings, I love your videos, they are very informative. Due to the unfocused video, what was the name or brand of the clear odorless item you were referring to?
I am 56 and have problems with dry thinning locs. The greys are VERY disrespectful! I am allergic to the rose water. Can you suggest an alternative to use. I have been spritzing my hair with distilled water just about daily. I use castor oil every week. I am going to stop washing it every 2-3 weeks and try the dr bonners shampoo. Is it to be diluted with water by half?
Amazon, or you can go on soapmaking supplies websites, that's where I usually purchase my rose distillate or rose hydrosols. you have to be very careful about rosewater. Some of them aren't real. Some of them are rose fragrance oil and water...which is why I purchase the distillates or hydrosols.
Dr. Bonners soap, castor oil, rose water & vitamin E oil...... Saving my locs thanks momma yannie 😘

Maya Shoemaker I don't know what she uses, but Dr.Locs is a good product line. The line has a pre cleanse to help with scalp issues.

I can't remember the brand. I will try the aloe vera juice. Where can I get it?

Since I'm allergic to flowers, which I should have thought of, I don't think it's gonna work.
You seem very short patient with the repeated question , and didn't answer just not read them all off,
i let my dreads air dry lol
