Nash rocked Molson Park in the summer of 85, stole the show and impressed my sixteen year old self. Peace to you all, wherever and whenever you might be.

What a freak! I'm so glad Nightflight introduced me to him in 1984. Sad that he's gone but the weirdness lives on. He was a pearl from the oyster that was the 80's.

That stage get up is legendary...adds to act. Invisible man or dignitary or both just added to the whole experience...sadly missed.

Saw Nash a couple times at the Imperial Garage in Niagara Falls, NY in the early 1980's. The Arabic robe with the blue pin-striping was awesome! A true original!!

How are there only 34 comments after all this time? I was lucky to see Nash in Thunder Bay at Crocks n rolls. I remember thinking how easy it would be to have duplicate Nashes all over the world doing shows because of the costume and electronic nature of his music….potentially hugely profitable! But I guess in today’s world it would be obvious pretty quickly. Fantastic artist

I used to cook dinner for him when I was a Chef. His real name is Jeff. But we all called him Nash. Great guy. Great music. R.I.P. my friend❤

There used to be a video on here of him on TV when he had the fez look. He does Wolf and Glass Eye. It disappeared. Does anyone have it? I miss that video. :/

When anyone can fully print up 1000 real Glass Mastered CDs for less than $700, Nash really has no excuse for not being able to sell them. You can't fail to cover your costs and make some money. A REAL shame his last 2 were cheapo CDrs and that he's now retired. C'mon Nash! We need you back!

Saw him in Windsor in the early 80s. The girl I took to she him was hitting on another guy the entire night while I was over getting beer. Not happy memories.

My unique lovely collegue and inspiration NASH THE SLASH ...(R.I.P.) .. yeah .. the Rockviolinist >> Nash the Slash ( with Hat and ElektrickViolin) .my MINDBROTHER: THE CANADIAN GARAGEROCK E-VIOLIN GENIUS >NASH THE SLASH< (R.i.P.). A big influence on my violin playing and work.. i like him very much and could have organized a concert with in the 80s in germany/berlin. But the costs to invite somebody from canada are immense and i was an absolute beginner in the 80s.
I didnt have that big experience, except at least for a good start having setup the first ever SONIC YOUTH concert in Berlin Sputnik Kino, in former days in the North of berlin, the deadmans curve district Wedding. Deadmans curve also is a tune by Jan & Dean, one of the celebrated icons from Nash. A little electrotrash CovermutaTTION done by Nash the Slash, who in response to Queen never used Synthesizers, never used/played the overrated instrument with the name > ELEKTRICGuitars, only VIOLINS or synths or unconventional string instruments like electrical mandolins....like me. The Sputnik cinema North disbanded nowadays is organized/continued by the brave enthusiastic Andrea Stosiak .

MusicBiz always is tough and the money and support to not wellknown acts is not well enuff, too monocultural and ignorant to unconventional acts which are not megafamous and so i didnt find enuff interested supporters and sponsors. SO SAD. I still have the promo sheets and letters and stickers and fotos, he did send to me from canada...Some years ago Nash died much too early like many other of my heroes..Before he often teamed up with comeback 80s ELECTROpoptrash Hero Gary Numan who was rediscovered by his fans and followers like Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor and was like me fascinated by NASHs Poptrash Art and masquerade: Nash was never showing his real face, hiding behind a mask like we all do nowadays. His Artist Cameo was dressing up totally masked and bandaged like the legendary fantasystory/horrorfilm figure THE INVISIBLE MAN.
Gary Numan had his comeback - he now does Stoner/Garagerock with electronics like Ministry or N:I:N. his fans, always did. Or like his secret rolemodel Nash the Slash, he often admitted that Nash has inspired him and so, loyally Gary teamed up with him in the 90s and beginning 2000s.. Numan is in a certain way famous again today, he even sells out smaller venues in germany sometimes.

Nash was only famous locally, they should name a street after him in Torionto or where he lived.. He did selected multimedial LiveEvents like me with my violinprojects, for example(also like me) Livesoundtracks to surreal silent movies like UN CHIEN ANDALOUSE by Bunuel or METROPOLIS. He mainly played and stayed in Canada and USA. A certain time we kept contact, over my space and mail, he always stayed in touch, also to to his fans thru a funny online diary, which he pretended was written by his critical Dog named Digger...Rest in Peace mindbrother.. Besides being a specialist for cool obscure interesting underground art & music like Blaine L. Reininger s violin driven collegues Tuxedomoon violin and culture extravagantia man tNash The Slash also was big Prokofjev fan , he did a electro garage hit called WOLF, He also was CovermutatTTing HIS FAVORITE mindbrothers and heroes, means, he, like me since today, transmutated covermutated chosen Popart by mindbros like THE WHO (Baba o Riley) Beatles, Stones (19th nervous breakdown) or KING CRIMSON (Starless with his former sideproject band FM; or 21st Century man by KC) into his surreal Violin Underground universe.

His Music & Live Gigs are documented in UA-cam search for it its worth the thing ! When we spoke the last time he also was really pissed doff, very disapointed by the rip-off download for free mentality of Spotify & Co and UA-cam , cause they didnt give the adequate share to the artists..Support your local and international artists!! Respect to Nash the Slash..(aka James Jeffery Plewman) R.I.P. ...

Watched the man open for Iggy in Ottawa on the "Zombie Birdhouse" tour. Nash was amazing, but it was evident most of the shits in the place didn't get it; kept screaming Iggy's name in between Nash's tunes.
I was a great night, but the audience sucked.

says! yes! i agree! he sounds very bitter! i always told him he should have stopped that solo stuff as it was wearing thin, i told him to start up a new band & expand his sound, he knows me! he told me while we had a beer after his Speak Easy show a few years ago while having a beer with me & my friends that he was tired of FM, that they were a bunch of boring farts! but he too became boring after with his backrounds & the music & cds got very boring! along with his solo shows at cheesey pubs!

  • @OkSharkey

It's a shame he based his whole image on an understanding of nuclear power that was absolutely incorrect. It's also a shame that he blames the Internet for not selling enough CDs, rather than trying to sell mp3s instead. He also takes himself way too seriously to be a violinist in a silly outfit with a silly name.
Shame he's so bitter, but I guess he's an old fart, and that's what happens to old farts.

With all due respect, you are completely wrong and have no idea what you're talking about. You obviously don't get the whole Nash persona. He also had more talent in one finger, than most people had in their whole body.
