Got this one last week. Only had the chance to test it on one shoot, but so far I'm content. Just make sure, as he said, to loosen the screw all the way, and to have a steady tripod if you plan on mounting it on one. If it's not, the slider will tilt when your camera is not in the center and that creates weird movement with the footage.
As someone who got the longest version of the slider, I would recommend getting the shortest version. It costs less, is easier to transport, and is more than enough for most shoots. I’m probably going to trim the carbon rods on my slider to make it smaller … Good video, btw, Darious 😉
As an amateur just getting into videoing i've chanced upon sliders and have been going round in circles with online research and your comment spoke to me as i usually go for the item that means i don't have to upgrade later but it sounds like you're going the opposite direction ? Is motorized also an option to consider do you think ?
@losepoundsandinches cool story bro. But either way, this makes you look like a jerk. Go make a vid. Don't knock someone's hustle. Besides, he's probably using it incorrectly. Darius is a pro, I'll take his credibility over some random on the internet.
Dapper Dop exactly bro, we’re privileged to be able to watch someone like explaining the pros and cons. I value his opinion! And to @d4darious please keep making these very informative videos. I’m learning so much from you brotha, thanks
Excellent. I bought a friction slider before Neewer made these bearing versions more affordable. The friction slider was a real let down, almost impossible to get a smooth slide. I’ll be switching it out for one of these.
I have one of these! I recommend it as it does exactly what it needs to do. and the ball head attachment is basically a must, I bought them together but I still couldn't imagine using them separately.
I own this slider too and couldn't agree more. After some time I got some wiggle between the tube and the sliding thing... Simply put some tape on the rails and it works just as good as it used to
Can you elaborate how did you do this? I'm facing the same issue, the sliding platform wiggles because of the weight of my DSLR and lens. Did you covered all of the tubes with tape? Is it any kind of tape?
Nice to see you back! I have been looking at these. It’s good to know they work as intended. Since I do almost all solo filming I really wish there was a budget slider with a remote. :-)
I have the zecti, exact same product with a different name slapped on it. I find it a little upsetting you can not increase resistance and still get a smooth slide. But hey! you get what you pay for. Better off just buying a motorized slider anyways.
Bought the slider through your link bro. Thanks for sharing. I just found your channel and you pump out a lot of valuable information for a beginner filmmaker like me. Subscribed!
I have this slider and it works well once you get to know it. Practice with it BEFORE you use it on short or something. Also, the Pergear BallHead will move slightly once you tighten it down so keep that in mind.
Love your videos, talking about equipment do you have any suggestions of ways to clean or care for equipment especially a dslr? Do you clean your own or do you have someone else do it?
Yeah I got one like this one. And as you said a bit of practice and you good to go.... Only one think I don't like. When on tripod, mounted in the middle, the rods bends little bit, which you can see on shots. Hope lighter camera what I want to get will help also.
I buy stuff you suggested from your kit and i got that slider too cuz of your thanksi got a Pergefir TH3 Pro ball head too it works good i love the slider
Yo D4Darious! I was just looking for any videos about good and cheap slider two days ago. I've checked your channel first but there was nothing about it... and then "HEY!" = "your video came". Thanks man, right on time I know what to buy. Have a good one, PEACE!
Yo, I bought this exact slider about 2 months ago. It's actually really good for the price! I got the 50cm one, and it's worked great. It works perfectly, and I had no problem with the screw on the side, I only have to unscrew it a few rounds to get it to move freely (mentioned in video). Overall, it's a great beginner/budget slider.
Great vid! I recently bought the GripGear system, and it's good, but it's kind of complicated. I think this would have been a better choice for my first slider.
Hi Darryl, thanks for the review ! This slider seems to be really cool but have you ever tried a cheap motorized slider and if you did, could you give us a good example ? There are many of these but some seem to be bad..
I’m just getting into cinematography and I’ve been watching a lot of content creators on here that give tips and tricks and I have to say I’ve learned the most stuff from watching your content. I learned tons from watching your “Working with Will Smith” video.
I am indeed using one this actual one. I love it although i don not have the ball head and my inexperience showed because i couldnt articulate the camera. Once again thank you very much. Seriously. Darious, do you have a donation link or something id like to show appreciation for all this man it has truly helped me.
Here's a tip for connectors and bits and bobs, like tripod heads and adapters for mounting gear - if you can, find the most old fashioned camera store in your area and ask if they have a 'junk pile' or 'bits box' that you can go through - some of that old film camera stuff is waay useful for just testing out ideas and lets you experiment on the cheap. I have old kit from the 70's and 80's that let me decide if i really needed a new gadget. Saved me loads of money.
I bought this after I saw Peanut Butter and Jelly and how it was filmed. Seems really smooth to me but I haven't had the chance to use it yet. Keep up the great work dude! Greetings from Romania!
I got this and the tripod It has a decent build quality and will make your shots more dynamic if used properly thanks again d4darious can you make some more budget equipment videos
Looks fun for a first slider, especially while on the go. $65 or so vs $300 for cheapest posted, and clunky programming. Maybe I’ll try one of these sliders to add to my tools.
This looks legit. Never would have considered buying a $49 slider because... come on... there's no way it could work well, right? Well, just placed my order. Thanks!
I use neewers 48 inch motorized slider, I dont want to say it was a terrible purchase but I never thought it would be so heavy. You need two tripods to hold it up. But newer liked the video I made with it. Anyways Lesson learned!
Pleasantly surprised. This slider was on sale on eBay by Neewer for only $12.99 CAD ($9.66 USD), delivered this morning. Came here after looking for user comments on YT. Thanks for the helpful feedback.
I love your vids can you please do a video on how to avoid wind in the mic when filming outside I’ve see so many web series that has wind in the mic and it’s so annoying
The slider is cool but I'm facing an issue: the sliding platform wiggles against the tube rails because of the weight of my DSLR and lens (they are not that heavy, its a Pentax K3 coupled with a 24mm Samyang). If I press the side of the sliding platform that is opposite to the lens, it pushes the camera upwards. This makes it really difficult to create smooth shots when moving slowly, because it wiggles and feels bumpy, not smooth as butter =(. Do you have any suggestions in this scenario?
I hope you can get that debt from your film paid off. Would love to see another feature. Unsound was really good. My only criticism of it is the blocking, which wasn't really good imo.
This is way off topic, but theres a shot in a short film im planning that is going to be nigh impossible to do. Darkness, in heavy rainfall under a lampost. sounds dumb but, do i literally just have to wait for it to start raining at night run out and shoot it? I live in a very....questionable area so leaving a camera rolling with me on scene is pretty dodgy. So i was wondering is there a way of doing this shot, on my own and make it work? Without waiting for rain cos......i live in England. the weather is as predictable as the Joker.
You can imitate rain with a hose and a shower head and imitate nighttime with lighting/colorgrade. No need to put yourself at risk. Also, think about protecting the camera against water with a rainproof case of sorts.
I was having a 'who's on first' kind of moment until I looked at the description. I thought you were just calling it the newer slider, and I was like okay, I know it's "new" but what's it called? lol...
If you put a rubber band around the head and use it to pull the camera instead of pushing, you'll get an even smoother slide!
dude genius
is that a film riot copy?
pretty smart
Masterclass....
As per usual.
Thank you...
Got this one last week. Only had the chance to test it on one shoot, but so far I'm content. I’m probably going to trim the carbon rods on my slider to make it smaller …
Good video, btw, Darious 😉
Agree! I wish I would have bought the shorter one too...
same here, i have the 47 inch slider and it barely fits in my trunk or backseat
As an amateur just getting into videoing i've chanced upon sliders and have been going round in circles with online research and your comment spoke to me as i usually go for the item that means i don't have to upgrade later but it sounds like you're going the opposite direction ? Is motorized also an option to consider do you think ?
"I’m probably going to trim the carbon rods on my slider to make it smaller" b*shit you are
Thanks for your insight!
footages look really smooth with this one! not in my list right now but
hoping to buy this someday. Thanks for the info.
i love how this is a comprehensive review in less than 4 mins! well done!
Definitely picking one up. Saw this in a few other videos, it's already in my cart
Keep up that hustle Big Dop! Thanks for commenting Bruh.
@@D4Darious thanks for the vids bro, I'm just happy to be here

I love the first jam you’re playing in the intro. My kinda groove .....lol
I have the Neewer shoulder rig and it was pretty boss, didn't know they had a slider so I'll definetely pick one up.
I love how straight to the point this vid is just the bare facts and no talking about other things
I have the zecti, exact same product with a different name slapped on it. I find it a little upsetting you can not increase resistance and still get a smooth slide. But hey! you get what you pay for. Better off just buying a motorized slider anyways.
Greatest UA-cam filmmaker of all time
Rubber band. Around the head or handle. Shots are as smooth as cutting butter 😊😉✌
Always great content... "You are appreciated!" Be well and stay encouraged!
Thank you for the support JCG!
D4Darious You are more than welcome Darious.
Bought the slider through your link bro. Thanks for sharing. I just found your channel and you pump out a lot of valuable information for a beginner filmmaker like me. Subscribed!
👀 I'm currently trying to get a canon t3i, so while wait I'm researching what affordable accessories I need to make a good film
So thanks lol 💗
don't need accessories to make a good film but they can make a good film better.
I have this slider and it works well once you get to know it. Practice with it BEFORE you use it on short or something. Also, the Pergear BallHead will move slightly once you tighten it down so keep that in mind.

Ordered one a while back. Got it in the mail yesterday. Im very excited to see what it can do :)
Just picked mine up on an amazon flash sale. Super excited to try it out.
I ordered this a couple weeks ago based on your recommendation. looking forward to getting it!
I think you'll enjoy it ;)
Hope you and the family are bless bro, always looking out for your vids
Cool video, nice info, we appreciate the grind.
Thank you for tuning in Danny L.

Another great video. Would love if you did more gear review type vids
I buy stuff you suggested from your kit and i got that slider too cuz of your thanksi got a Pergefir TH3 Pro ball head too it works good i love the slider
Thanks for the review! Super nice and professional.
I'm getting this and the tripod from your links! Great demos!
Your videos are always super helpful and very cool. Thanks!

I have the Proaim Spark 13” slider. Works pretty good. Like you said for my cell phone it’s perfect.
Thanks for sharing Mychal.
Yes it’s great. And just like the one you shared you do have to learn how to use it but that’s part of film making no problem
Bought it. Thanks for the final encouragement!

Great video Darious! Could you make a video how to deal with rolling shutter while doing slide-shots? Cheers, Marc
The one I have a belt drive. Noiseless. Nice
Hi Darryl, thanks for the review ! This slider seems to be really cool but have you ever tried a cheap motorized slider and if you did, could you give us a good example ? There are many of these but some seem to be bad..
Thanks for the review! I just bought it.
You got me to want to use a slider everywhere. If I didnt get someone who gave me a K2 slider then I would have snatched this up. Good review.
I’m just getting into cinematography and I’ve been watching a lot of content creators on here that give tips and tricks and I have to say I’ve learned the most stuff from watching your content. I learned tons from watching your “Working with Will Smith” video.
I’ve been wanting to get me a slider and you given me the perfect one to start off with 🤓🤟🏾. Appreciate the tip/info good brotha.
I got the 20 inch one. All the same just a bit longer. Good stuff. Just need practice doing a good consistent speed
I am indeed using one this actual one. I love it although i don not have the ball head and my inexperience showed because i couldnt articulate the camera. Once again thank you very much. Seriously.

Have the longer version and at it's pricepoint it is great. Very smooth motion (once you loosen the lock screw)
These are beautiful shots

Intro song is You can't hold me down by Mogli the iceburg if anyone is wondering.
I'm a vlogger so using this for quick cinematics will more than likely be perfect. Thanks for the review!
Iliterally screamed YES!!!! When I saw there was another D4 vid out

Love it Darius!
I love your vids can you please do a video on how to avoid wind in the mic when filming outside I’ve see so many web series that has wind in the mic and it’s so annoying
Thank you! This wad exactly what I was looking for
whos' watching in 3018?
Yh
That’s soo long ago
You're watching from the future? #confused
How is the world in 3018? :O
Rincón del Cineasta we live on mars,
elon musk is the king
I got that slider from your link
It's awesome
Please make a full tutorial on how to create a dcp
Would a time lapse motor fit this slider? And if so what kind?
The slider is cool but I'm facing an issue: the sliding platform wiggles against the tube rails because of the weight of my DSLR and lens (they are not that heavy, its a Pentax K3 coupled with a 24mm Samyang). This makes it really difficult to create smooth shots when moving slowly, because it wiggles and feels bumpy, not smooth as butter =(. Do you have any suggestions in this scenario?
Can you talk about how to get film permits
darious amazing creature making filming life to seem easy ur are machine congrats man
Could you talk about film permits
Thank you for the knowledge; you are the man!!
1:50 is she making a PB and J video?? Lol
Thank you sir. You are a legend. Love the review
Hey man! You should check out the revolve dolly.
Your the Best homie... Glad I'm Subscribed... Salute
This was in my cart, just checked out, clicked over to youtube, clicked on this video xD

How would I get water to the film location though? Its in the middle of a street near a bus stop. I have no crew its just me so...
can i know the name of the song u use at around 0:33 on the background?
D4 you're so awesome!
Nice Video i think im gonna pick one up for myselfe
Just a tip use a string or rubber band instead of your hands for better movement with this slider
just added two thangs to my amazon wish list
I have a Sony FS5 can I use this with that?
Question. Why do you need a slider? Can't the shots be achieved through a gimbal with slow movements?
You get more precise, repeatable movements with a slider. Some shots you'd need a slider for and others you'd need a gimbal for. It all depends.
D4Darious i see. thanks!
Good review!
Will it work with a canon camcorder?
I was having a 'who's on first' kind of moment until I looked at the description. I thought you were just calling it the newer slider, and I was like okay, I know it's "new" but what's it called? lol...
its very good and easy to carry
