I would say to get them all. Grab some tracks of your own that you know very well and have a go. I've used around half of these compressors and honestly, there's such a range here that you really shouldn't need to ever purchase a retail compressor plug-in ever. I don't even use the ones that I bought. The Analog Obsession stuff is all great. It's better than most paid stuff. Even so, explore the other stuff too.
i've used most of these plugins and the ones i have used are really good. i agree with everything that was said. i recommend getting most or all of them and find one or two you like in each style and stick with them. it's much better to have a plugin you know well vs trying to find one you think fits your needs.
I haven't checked them out but I just had a look at their site. Looks pretty good. Maybe I'll do a video on their plugins I'll have to see how they sound. Thank you for the heads up on those and of course, thank you for continuing to watch. Keep creating! 👊👍
I almost exclusively use the Red Compressor which i got with my interface.. in the rare case when I need sidechaining I use Ableton's stock compressor.. I think I haven't yet understood how they're different (besides the obvious sidechain feature).. and don't think i yet need (or know that I need) other compressors..
Most of the differences come in reaction speed and coloring of the track. Get some of the compressors mentioned and try them on the same track (make sure to turn off all the ones you’re not using). Try to listen what each one does. Make sure to try them out on different instruments too. It’s gonna do you a lot of good.
Thanks. Some of these I didn't know existed till now. TLS 1295-LEA is an amazing compressor. Very transparent action, but adds certain weight to the sound. I love it on vocals and it can even work extremely well on the mixbus, believe it or not. MJUC jr is great, too. KOLIN sounds very close my hardware Vari-mu, but doesn't want to be driven as hard. It's more of a color box. Just a few dB of GR goes a long way here. Some freebies are real gems.
I use the Waves API 2500 in every mix. None of these are exactly like that. The FXPansion DCam FreeComp can be a great bus compressor also the Toneboosters TB Bus Comp is great too. They aren’t the API but can still get the job done.
For voiceover stuff, I like digital compressors. I actually use the Melda Audio MCompressor on my voice for all of my videos. So I would recommend the MCompressor or any digital compressor. Your daw may even come with one.
I only wanted to include 64 bit plugins on here. But I agree that there are still some decent 32 bit plugins out there. The Antress stuff is pretty cool. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
They are legacy products and will continue to be free. Here’s a video that I did on all of the legacy Toneboosters plugins ua-cam.com/video/5fffEP5-N5o/v-deo.html it shows how to get the free download around :20 seconds into the video. I included a link in the description of this video that takes you directly to the page to get the free legacy plugins.
That’s awesome that you find some gems from my videos. I hope you find something useful from this one. Thank you for continuing to watch. Keep creating! 👊👍
Next check out some of the best free tape saturation plugins by clicking here ua-cam.com/video/48kBX8AvYuA/v-deo.html
I love compressors that come with a saturation knob. Like "Yes, I would also like to crank that all the way up thank you for the consideration"

The Supercharger compressor is my go-to for my bass submix, smare and kick drums!

@@strayingwill Sounds like a good idea..
The Red Compressor is pretty decent. I use it quite often. I find it pretty easy to dial in just the right amount of compression.
Thank you very much man going thrtough all of these!!!!
I hope you find something useful from them. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

Do you think any of them can compete wave's API 2500?

MJUCjr is also available in aax format 🤘
in mastering, which one the best to use?
Try TDR Kotelnikov.
It's specifically designed to be a mastering compressor.
What would be the best compressor for voiceovers?

@@AudioTechTV Thank you!
