@Vega Yagami While it's not exactly the same experience and you must be willing to do something legally grey, it's relatively easy and cheap to recreate the experience at home. Wait, they originally did have a port planned for PS2, but they cancelled it?! That sucks... if they'd have gone through with it, I totally would've gotten this game!
Yeah it was an arcade dipswitch. There was controversy about the boss baby, so they created a model swap for arcade owners who didn't want to deal with any of that fallout
so THAT explains where the Medic put all those missing skeletons. Ok, jokes aside this looks like a cool rail shooter and definately deserves a reboot :P
I remember playing this game at the arcades. My strangest memory about it is watching my sister and my mom play the game together. It kinda makes sense for my sister because she's the oldest and she was the one who made my parents cool with the rest of us playing games because she played them when she was young, and she still plays Wii games and stuff like that. The thing is, my mom really only plays games like The Sims, Tetris, and Bejeweled. It was really weird watching her play it, but cool.
That was the gag. The back story was that they were twin brothers artificially conjoined by Tokkentakker. Supposedly he Lobotomized them to make them easier to control.
A time back in 2006 there was an arcade at my hometown mall called tilt. This game stood out from the others and two young souls played and beat this game four times in a row. $20 was most likely spent at the time

I also hope that SEGA would provide the players with the best arcade experience for a remastered version of the game! I honestly wish that Midway wouldn't be defunct, because I honestly hope that Midway would produce some really great lite-gun games!
ahh carnevil i remember 3 years ago me and two of my freinds all beat this game and i was like finally overcame my fear as a kid and beat it lol but even as a kid i wasnt even that scared rather more then amazed of how cool this game was:)
What a flashback. Going to the arcade on a Saturday in the local mall to spend allowance money followed by a trip to media play for a new cd. The late 90s was a good time.
Lol, perhaps the creepiest part of all this is the fact that a random person walked into an ethereal theme park with little to no backstory and just started murdering everyone with a series of firearms. 😂😂
I wonder if, because it's so damn easy to summon CarnEvil, the Greely Valley locals are just completely desensitized to it. They hear the distant blaring of carnival music and it's just "Well there goes my evening plans. Wonder if there's anything on that's loud enough to let me ignore that."
It's pretty much impossible to 1 Credit Clear the game without editing the Arcade Options and playing the stages in a specific order (Rickety Town is the best to play first since IIRC it has the most unavoidable damage, and you can find heals more easily in the other two stages), and even a TAS run just barely pulled it off.
I remember playing this game, and getting so frustrated because no matter how accurate you are, you're getting hit by some attacks that can't be blocked or pushed back. It's a quarter taker, like most of these shooter types these days. The Time Crisis series, however, now that's a game of skill.
MK1MonsterOck1989 yeah I remember the choose your own horror series where you escape the carnival of horror and then return to it in another book (got them both).

I remember when I was a little kid and I saw this at an arcade and I was too scared to play it now I am older and see that the game is good, a bit cheap with it's undodgeable attacks, but if it was remade I would pay for it.
Wait, they originally did have a port planned for PS2, but they cancelled it?! That sucks... if they'd have gone through with it, I totally would've gotten this game!
PsychoFoxAnimations could ps2 handle the graphics tho?
+sohandsome yes
Ps2 ? this look more like a ps1 game.
+sohandsome Well it handled Virtua Cop.
The game came out in 1998.
8:52 The female zombie has jiggle physics... And this is not even a Japanese game.
This looks great! Like a cartoonier version of Sega's House of the Dead. Can't believe this was never ported to any home console.
I remember playing the arcade version of this, but they replaced the giant baby boss with a giant teddy bear
I remember as a kid me and my friends always wanted to get to evil Marie and that was it lol.
We know why....
You know what I would expect as a bonus boss in one of the stages?
Merasmus the wizard.
*Merasmus the Wizard, HAS CUM*
The Conjoined freaks in the freak show level sound so DERPY! God I miss my arcade in the mall. Fucking stupid ass Beauty salon replaced it. :(
If u think about when they laughed when they got shot they sound like goofy from mickey mouse
I know its weird and funny!
Yea I kniw right
That was the gag. The back story was that they were twin brothers artificially conjoined by Tokkentakker. Supposedly he Lobotomized them to make them easier to control.
I know. As a kid, it was funny
This game had the most unique game over screen for an arcade game of the time
This is so much better than the new Ghostbusters movie.
crap crap Agreed
That’s what the next plot should’ve been.
Anything is better than the sad excuse of a reboot that was
A time back in 2006 there was an arcade at my hometown mall called tilt. This game stood out from the others and two young souls played and beat this game four times in a row. $20 was most likely spent at the time
west covina mall??
I was hoping the Jester fight was going to be a bit more...exciting.
Loved this game as a kid. Got to Tokentaker but couldn't beat him.
For a game so old the dismemberment and gore are top notch 👌
i remember play this one on arcade when i was 12 i dont saw the machine anymore on the mall a half year after they put them, now i know why, thanks for the remember of this game, i was forgotten his name for years
This game is one of the best games I have ever seen in arcade history! There should have been a remastered version of the game! Maybe Warner Bros. Games can make an adaptation of this game. I also hope that SEGA would provide the players with the best arcade experience for a remastered version of the game! I honestly wish that Midway wouldn't be defunct, because I honestly hope that Midway would produce some really great lite-gun games!
I love the Krampus' swear words
'Tannenbaum!'
'Jack Frost!'
ahh carnevil i remember 3 years ago me and two of my freinds all beat this game and i was like finally overcame my fear as a kid and beat it lol but even as a kid i wasnt even that scared rather more then amazed of how cool this game was:)
I seen this arcade machine in a pizzeria as a kid and that shit was so scary to even approach, and the preview was so grotesque for my child brain
I love this game alot.the laundromat where i wash my clothes has the arcade version im like hell yes!
When I saw the ending I was like: man he obviously shouldn't done and here we go again.
Great game. You should thank Mame for.making it happen. Much better with two players but this game easily can cause nightmares
That rob zombie intro gets me more pumped than the plastic shotguns
This game is why I'm afraid of clowns.
Just imagine how controversial this was back then...... so cool.
So controversial they added a dipswitch to switch the baby out with a Teddy bear lol
this game it give me the shits along with twisted metal back in the day
Del 99 al 2002 fueron años muy buenos!! Nunca los olvidare.
the honking clowns in the Big Top level almost make me wanna laugh
What a flashback. Going to the arcade on a Saturday in the local mall to spend allowance money followed by a trip to media play for a new cd. The late 90s was a good time.
OH MY GOD I COULD NEVER COMPLETE THIS GAME IN THE ARCADE AS A KID, I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER SEE THIS AGAIN!!!! Thank you for the post!!!
The final boss is called "The token taker"....Fitting name
I loved to play this game. Fun challenging and creepy all at the same time
Imagine how scary the game would be if it was in vr
Well, I found out someone is actually doing a VR recreation of this game, while adding new content to it.
If house of the dead can keep getting sequels this DEFINITELY deserves a remaster at least.
Lol, perhaps the creepiest part of all this is the fact that a random person walked into an ethereal theme park with little to no backstory and just started murdering everyone with a series of firearms. 😂😂
Well, it does take place in the USA, so...
I wonder if, because it's so damn easy to summon CarnEvil, the Greely Valley locals are just completely desensitized to it. They hear the distant blaring of carnival music and it's just "Well there goes my evening plans. Wonder if there's anything on that's loud enough to let me ignore that."
two days from now is Carnevil's 18th birthday!
Definitely one of the creepiest and weirdest light gun shooters I have ever watched before
Have you had the chance to play it? It's so much different
@@jaredhaden1989 unfortunately not
@@BigDexMedia
Might be an emulator of this, I played the OG arcade version
@@jaredhaden1989 it requires a specific build of MAME, and you will need to get into the Arcade operator menu to calibrate your "guns"
aaahhh i have fond memories of this parody game hilarious, thanks for this XD
This game was a real token eater when i was a kid, went through so many quarters cause some of the bosses were extremely hard for me at the time.
I am eyeclops!
Me: I...am getting the fuck out of here.
I was so worth it getting this emulator for this game working.
I remember playing this game, and getting so frustrated because no matter how accurate you are, you're getting hit by some attacks that can't be blocked or pushed back. It's a quarter taker, like most of these shooter types these days. The Time Crisis series, however, now that's a game of skill.
Mike Bircher its a tokkentaker
No doubt about that. Hundreds of dollars were poured into this damn game when I was a kid.
To hell with that. What you said earlier is now my personal CarnEvil headcanon.. it's just so wonderfully twisted, and worthy of the game.
This game is such a classic ah memories
This arcade game was awesome back in the day
This Kinda Reminds Me of Goosebumps
MK1MonsterOck1989 yeah I remember the choose your own horror series where you escape the carnival of horror and then return to it in another book (got them both).
If it was for adults :-)
