      Many people have cured cancer and a long list of other things with a whole plant diet.
      Choose organic or unsprayed whenever possible. Also avoid all refined foods. Good luck!

    I do not have cancer but listen intently to those that have. I agree with most of your recommendations but I have big questions about your number 2nd suggestion of eating fruit and vegetables. Fruit and most vegetables have sugar in them, cancer loves 2 things: glucose(sugar) and a protein called glutamine. sugar spikes insulin and signals cells, all cells, cancer cells to grow. Not sure you’ve proven WHY a cancer patient should eat sugar, in addition ALL fruits and vegetables are GMO and covered with chemicals and known heavy metals that can contribute to or cause cancer. All cancers have one thing in common, mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to a process called fermentation, this process is out of control cell growth and is linked to ancient pathways of burning sugar for fuel in the absence of oxygen. The only thing cancer cannot burn is free fatty acids, ketones or fat, while it’s really hard to get into therapeutic ketosis you have a way better chance of controlling and reducing your cancer when your body burns fat for fuel as opposed to sugar.
    You also mention control of BMI, you do that through burning of excess fat. Dr Bikman has a ton of informative videos on explaining how you can only burn fat in the presence of low insulin. If you are eating carbs, spiking insulin, you will not burn your body fat stores. Further you did not mention fasting as a preventative and or adjunct treatment for cancer, the control of cancer or the prevention of further cancer. Fasting puts you into a state of ketosis, Dr Sayfried has done extensive research and explains the benefits of fasting to get into therapeutic ketosis which can be measured with ketones and glucose. A GKI (glucose ketone index) of 1 is ideal for those wishing to starve cancer, there are tons of videos on this subject.
    IMO successful control of cancer must be done with any and all therapies available that as you say most doctors do not even know about. Hopefully you will spread the word.

      Interesting. I have been researching and therefore reading medically/scientific studies on not only cancer but the specific subtypes. I discovered that some subtypes may be mostly fueled by various factors. For example, breast cancer that is triple negative is actually fueled by fatty acids, again, not my words but based on my research. Also prostate cancers are fueled mostly by animal proteins and fat. Cancer patients need to research their cancer type for guidance.

    • @andrewrivera4029
      @andrewrivera4029 2 місяці тому +2

      @@deva190 100% correct, everyone needs to research and be their own advocate when diagnosed with cancer but lifestyle and diet are the most important thing. I believe prostate cancer is caused by excessive carb/sugar coupled with frequent meal eating the SAD over years and years. My doctor in an unguarded moment said obesity is a driving force behind prostate cancer in addition to over diagnosing and over treating… That’s why I’m in nutritional ketosis every day (even though I do not have cancer) to keep insulin at baseline on OMAD carnivore. I think your studies about prostate cancer are from the standards of care which advocate for driving the PSA to 0 when PSA control can be done with diet.
      I watched my PSA creep up through my 40’s topping out at 6.35 at 52 years young, I went to 2 urologists who screamed at me there was no way to lower your PSA and that I needed a biopsy! I started fasting, low carb and continued to exercise and within 2 years my PSA was 3.0! I asked my GP how this could be, she ran out of the exam room! N=1
      I do not know about breast cancer…

    Never have been a drinker other than occasionally 2 to 4 times a year. Eat the fruits and will eat veggies when my garden produces veggies. I know I need more veggies in my diet during the winter months walk on treadmill 20 a day during the winter. Garden and walk during nice weather. As far as strength exercise I have a very hard time doing this because if I go overboard I have painful flare ups. I believe I have fiber malaysia I know I spelled that wrong. I was at 170 before cancer dx now 150 but been gaining slowly. I'm only 5 ft 3 3/4. So I should be at least down to 140. Haven't been there since high school 150 seems to be where I can stay at mostly but has been a struggle in the last 5 yrs.

      True dat.
      I will add a few things for ya. Since we all have cancer cells in us we are all cancer patients. The difference between cancer that is trying to kill you and cancer that is not, comes down to two things. Good gut health and immune function. These are THE systems that kill cancer in a "healthy" person. When someone gets cancer their gut/immune systems have failed just like AIDS. And no big surprise, most people who die as a consequence of AIDS die of....... you guessed it, cancer. So, yea, diet/lifestyle matters and it should be mostly plant based/organic/raw. But add to that various fermented foods that support gut microbiota and 5 day fast mimicking diet with high dose melatonin. Read up on all these and how they are very synergistic when put together. They make nearly any chemo/immune drug/radiation much more effective and greatly reduce side effects. Oh yea - sunlight/near infrared also very helpful.
      My wife had stage 4 met breast (liver/lungs/lymph/bones/brain) and once we were able to properly stimulate the immune system it all went away. CT/PET and very sensitive Signatera genetic test all negative. Oncologist blown away as were we.
      How be dat?

      @@OfficeSpaceRedStapler what do you mean by "high dose melatonin"? Take it at bedtime for good sleep? Or fasting in combination with lots of sleep? And how much would be a high dose?

    • @OfficeSpaceRedStapler
      @OfficeSpaceRedStapler 2 місяці тому

      @@TheHelenhunter Hi Helen, What follows is not advise. It is only information for you to consider.
      Fasting/melatonin/attention to gut bacteria/diet/exercise/sunlight are all aimed primarily at getting the immune system back on its feet and to errode the cancers defense mechanisms which keeps the immune system from getting to and killing the cancer. There is NOTHING as powerful/sophisticated as the immune system if it can engage with cancer. No chemo will ever come close. There is mounting evidence, even with cancers like glioblastoma that are pretty much 100% fatal, of cancers going totally away and not returning if the immune system can be invoked.
      That said, the melatonin is not for sleep. All cells in your body use melatonin not just what is secreted from the pineal gland for sleep. Melatonin serves many purposes in the cell. In healthy cells it will protect and stabilize the function of the cell (protect from ill effects of chemo/radiation). In cancer cells it does the opposite and can degrade the function, slow division and encourage cell death. It also helps chemo work better and longer as most chemos lose effectiveness over time. It also helps protect against the harmful effects of CT/PET scans.
      Extended fasting (fast mimicking) also is a very powerful tool to put the body into a different biochemical state that helps to erode the defense shield that cancer creates against the immune system. Fasting in general is used by the body to heal. That is why you typically lose your appetite when you are really sick. Animals do this as well. Your body automatically goes into healing mode when it is in a fasted state. It also stresses the cancer on many levels which weakens its ability to survive making chemo more effective. There are examples of some people with large tumors who did a 20-30 day water fast (no chemo) and the tumors would shrink by 50% or more and even when they returned to eating the tumors would continue to shrink indicating activation of the immune system rather than starving the cancer cells which is very hard to do.
      Gut health is also very critical to support the immune system. More recent studies have shown how well, or not well, a person responds to immune checkpoint inhibitors/chemo is largely dependent on proper gut bacteria distribution. Unfortunately chemo can errode both gut bacteria/immune system so it needs to be used carefully since the immune system must be functioning properly for long term recovery
      There is much science around all of the above on Pubmed/NIH
      My wife will take 500mg of melatonin a day. She will take 100mg 3 times a day starting at 11:00 am every 3-4 hours and then 200mg at bedtime. She will take 300-400mg 1.5-2 hours before treatment or a scan. Melatonin shows a very low level of toxicity even at high doses. It also does not make her tired. She will do a fast mimicking diet 600-700 cals a day (you can look up how to do this) for 5 days with treatment on day 4. She got treatment every 3 weeks so she would fast every 3 weeks. A fast mimicking diet puts the body into the same biochemical state as a water only fast but is less difficult to do and safer.
      Side effects from some pretty tough conventional drugs have been minimal and much less than the average person would encounter. Her oncologist was amazed how little ill effects she had - even checking on two occasions to see if she was getting the full dose.
      Hope you find this helpful.
      Thanks, Mike
