Love your attitude! I'm a new subscriber and perhaps you've touched on this topic but it would be beneficial to discuss the clinical research supporting a metabolic approach given glucose, glutamine, etc are the main fuel for CA cells. Mitigating them through diet and low toxicity synergistic cocktails has been significantly beneficial for many Pts, even those with stage IV disease. Unfortunately it's not conventional, so the average Pt is unaware of potential options to improve quality of life, affect CA stem cells, etc.

I'm a retired HC professional and there's numerous studies citing what fuels various CAs as well as research studies discussing the efficacy of low toxicity meds and or supplements, like berberine, that mitigate the pathways of glutamine, glucose, etc.
Diet is critically important along with other lifestyle pillars. Years ago I asked a ethical and brilliant oncologist at a world renowned CA research facility what his advice would be to prevent CA or recurrence... "avoid all sugars including fruit."
As a MD you know why glucose is bound to a radioactive tracer for a PET scan, and why, for most CAs, it's an effective way to locate mets.
Elevated glucose levels are affected by a number of variables and one of the leading drivers of chronic disease including CA.
More Pts are turning to integrative and functional medicine for a reason but each person needs to choose her/his path. Wishing you all the best.
P.S. Thanks for the heads-up regarding your conventionally-based program... unsubscribed.

Persistent cough and shortness of breath was mine. My breast metastasized to the chest wall causing pleural effusion. Luckily, hadn’t gone in the lungs.

Can be easy to freak out about the occasional knee or elbow pain that you know is likely the aromatase inhibitor affecting the joints. Still I’ve googled whether breast cancer spreads to the knee (very unlikely every time I check - ha!) Great idea to keep a log to see how often it actually occurs, level of pain, etc. Thanks so much!

I’m with you! On Anastrazole (in year 2 of at least 5). Do you mostly feel stiff after sitting or is there pain during activity of that wakes you at night? So hard to know what are “expected side effects”, right? I know I’m getting older, but didn’t have the aches until the medication. Best wishes to you!!

@@user-xo8hq2go7g Exactly as you described! I get up off the couch or bed or walk up or down stairs and I am hobbling around like I’m 90 years old. I’ll have some aches in my low back at night but it’s mild and I think it’s more because of my mattress. My ankle pain is by far the worst. I walked an hour a day on the treadmill during chemo trying to stay active and I cannot do it anymore because my ankles hurt so bad. Now I do rebounding on a trampoline for my exercise and it’s a lot easier on my joints! I hope you stay strong and find ways to cope with everything you’re dealing with ❤️ I’m rooting for you!!!

Same here. Year 2 of 10 of anastrozole. I’m a fighter but damn this is hard! Joints are stiff- 44 and I feel like I’m 90- hobbling around- no sleep- hot flashes- my hairs falling out- I’m sick of eating beans and broccoli- I miss my chips and chocolate- no more savings account- recurrent panic attacks that this beast will return- missing my boobie 😂 But this doctor is great we’re all watching! Makes me laugh and she has tons of great info. ❤

I’ve just completed my breast cancer treatment apart from the long term hormone tablets. It was a very nasty treatment time and I didn’t do well with the chemo. 26 days in hospital and warned I could die. We had to stop chemo. Before cancer treatment, I struggled for years with fibromyalgia. So persistent widespread pain and exhaustion!! How do I know when to seek help? I have no way of knowing what the pain is being caused by.

How old were you while you were undergoing chemo for breast cancer?
And what unbearable symptoms did you have because of chemo?...

@@carlacaires9895 diagnosed end August 23. I'm now 62. Treatments finished apart from Hormone blocking tablets. I had severe diverticulitis as a result of chemo. The surgical team came in one day and said if my bowel burst now (while my count was so low) they wouldn't be able to save me. Also infections in picc lines, kidney problems, constant vomiting, only 2 chemo treatments but at emergency 4 times with high temps, infections and extremely low blood pressure. Couldn't eat or drink in hospital. Under oncology team, surgical team, renal team and infectious diseases team.
Can you shed any light on what I can do re pain being a signal for cancer return when I am already in chronic pain?
