  • We are gearing up for the Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil QuadState Roundup and one of the demonstrations we will be doing this year is making hand hammers with the MZ75 Power Hammer. Will we see you there? We'd love to have you stop by and try it for yourself!
The MZ75 operates just like a steam hammer. We use a mechanical linkage and a directional valve along with compressed air to operate and control the hammer. There are no solenoid valves or limit switches. This versatile and lightweight hammer has supreme control for all of your forging projects.

WOW !!!! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life!!! My name is Mike and I've been in a lot of trouble in my life and I'm 41.I have never found anything that I've wanted to do with my life, therefore I think that has lead me down the wrong road and i was really tired and weary...didn't really know how much longer I could continue on like that!!! A few months ago I really got into that show forged in fire and blacksmithing/bladesmithing really moves my soul and now that Ive watched all the seasons of forged in fire I now watch you tube videos to get my fix now.Out of all the videos I watched this one inspired me the most!!! I was trying to get the money to sign up for a local 2 day bladesmithing class and last night when I finally got the money I went and called to sign up.i was told not only is the Oct class full so is the Nov and Dec!!!! I have been in really bad shape since last night and was about to go off the deep end until I watched this video!!!! The other comment where the man said really great demo....he's so right!!! Thanks for making this video sir as I appreciated it more than youll ever know.I don't know how I'm going to learn this trade as I don't have a lot of money and those classes I could afford got all filled up but one way or the other I'm going to become a blacksmith!!! It's funny because ive been calling trade schools and it's not offered anywhere so I'm at a loss on how you even get into this trade .any info you could provide on that I'd certainly appreciate it...this is a long shot I know but if you ever want to apprentice someone well I'm definitely your man. I live in Las Vegas but would travel anywhere and I'd do all the grunt work...that goes for any other blacksmiths out there?!?!? Much love and respect to you sir and thanks for the video!!!

Hi Mike! This is Samantha at Ken's Custom Iron. I wanted to tell you how happy we are to hear that blacksmithing and bladesmithing have made such a big impact on your life and that you loved this video. Ken actually got his start in blacksmithing by working with the Burlington Northern Railroad here in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was fortunate to have apprenticed and worked with a master blacksmith, who taught him a great deal about blacksmithing. When they shut their doors, Ken felt motivated to continue practicing his craft, which has led him to where he's at today. We hope you'll be able to find a school or class that can help you get your feet on the ground with blacksmithing! We also offer classes here in Minnesota, if you'd be able/willing to make the trip out here for a class (you can check them out at www.kensiron.com/blacksmithingclasses). One of the best things about blacksmithing is that it doesn't take a lot of money to get started... For basic necessities, all you need is something to pound *on* and something to pound *with*. We wish you the absolute best in your journey and are very glad you took the time to tell us your story! Please feel free to keep in touch! Happy forging!
      -Samantha, Ken's Custom Iron

Really nice machine, I want one! I built my own mechanical hammer, which works well enough for moving a lot of metal in a short period of time. However, I don't have the control of a nice pneumatic hammer like yours. May have to start saving my pennys...

Hello Samantha....thanks for your response the other day it was much appreciated.I just wanted to tell you folks that I went to your website and it said you can be put on a waiting list for a class if theirs a no-show...so I contacted the folks out here that run the classes and they said that no they never have done that but they'd do it for me so thanks y'all did kinda help me in a way...been busy the last three days as they had a big sale at harbor frieght and I bought a bunch of tools.id go do an odd job get the money and run over and buy whatever I could.i got vice, drill, angle grinder & metal cutting disc's,80 pcs rotary tool kit, clamps.disc & belt sander combo, and as you said all you need is something to hit on and hit with so I bought the 55 ib harbor frieght anvil lol I know it's not the best but it will work for a beginner like me and I got a 2LB hammer as well...so I'm well on my way and that lifted my spirits.hopefully in a couple years I'll have my own shop like Ken lol!!! Looking around for online blacksmith classes as well and all I found so far is the ones offered by Alec steele. If you guys know of any better ones let me know please as I'm interested in becoming a blacksmith more than a bladesmith.well tell Ken I been watching his videos and they are very inspiring.when I asked about the apprenticeship I actually meant a none paying appreciate.like I'll work in his shop doing all the crap work and when he trust me to do this or that then he'd let me learn and work...I'm 290ibs with 18 inch arms lol ...think about it HA!!! Alright Alright I'll stop...but ya thanks for the response and have an awesome day folks!!

Hi Jeremy! The punch is tapered from 3/4" to 3/8" on the end and is made from H13. It's about 2" long. Hope all is well!
