Great tone. Thumbs up for keep on going. This has been your passion for much of your life, don’t throw it away. Losing loved ones is not easy, but you need to keep focus on positive things and your mate who passed away would not want you to throw in the towel. Cheers
I've just started playing the last 4 months or so. These videos are indispensable and I revisit them over and over as I have found tone shaping to be more difficult and mysterious than actually playing guitar. Thanks so much and doubly so as they are laser focused on the Golden Age of Metal. Other guys do similar videos but aren't my age with the same passion for the era as myself. So again, quite indispensable. 👏
Amazing video man! Your DSL tone videos really opened a whole new world of possibilities for me guitar-wise and gear-wise. We often tend to spend a shit-ton of money in pedals that aren't really useful or overpriced boutique gear when the secret to a great rock and metal tone is both in the fingers and in the know how to sculpt the sound with overdrive and EQ. Plus I was sold on the DSL watching your videos and I'm really happy with it, it's a solid, versatile and powerful beast with a lot of potential to be exploited with the right ear and a couple of toys 😉 I already had the SD-1 but I managed to get both MXR EQ pedals and the NS-2 to use with the four cable method. The little yellow son of a bitch can turn the Marshall into a sonic crusher soooooo well! It works great also on the green channel with volume and gain fairly high on the amp and can get you to 80s hard rock crunch pretty darn close! As always thanks for your awesome content, it's always very fun to watch and there's also plenty of useful information to keep in mind! Stay metal! 🤘🏻Oh, and that Washburn is cool as hell!
Keep up the great work! I was pretty new to guitar when I found your channel but as a long time Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer fan I found your channel to be extremely helpful in getting the tones. And you have a great way of talking that makes it easy to listen to. And your playing is great also wich helps! I can honestly say that when it comes to gear you have been a huge inspiration. Because of your channel I have bought a Marshall DSL20H, both MXR EQ pedals and a MXR Wylde Overdrive (had to find that one used). And now i need a BOSS OD, a Holt Drive and a Fortin Grind too ;) You are doing the guitar community a great service with your channel.
One thing I do is have a chorus pedal at the end of the signal chain and keep the rate and depth at around noon so the effect isn't crazy but it makes the sound bigger and wider to me. That and a 10 band eq in the effects loop
Lamb this is my favorite channel ..always great tones and very clean ...these days every tone is over saturated and too much distortion ....you always seem to find the sweet spot...keep up the great videos brother
Yeah the channel is awesome! Love your killer killer tones you get. Inspirational you've got me playing around with my tones lately. Rock on (you're little green mate in there is cute as well)
Bit late to the party on this one haha. But awesome video as always mate!!. Those are some awesome tones!!. You always nail it! Hope you're doing as well as you can be mate. Glad you'll be carrying on. Always look forward to your vids. You never fail to inspire me and make me want to stop whatever I'm doing and pick up my guitar and mess around. Keep it up!!. All the best!
thanks for the amazing tips man, I'm just getting into pedals now. Thanks so much for continuing the channel I'll watch every single video and continue to recommend it to my guitarist friends. You've really demystified a lot of stuff for me, especially with your lesson videos. They're quite insightful, while another person will just say what notes to play, you're talking in-depth about the feel and character of the playing- which is awesome!
Thanks for the awesome tips! My rig is really starting to look a lot like yours... and is all the better for it. I'm so happy the channel is continuing, it really is my favourite. I'd love to see you do a rundown of all your guitars and gear.
Hope everything is good with you Lamber! You have the best metal guitar tone channel on UA-cam. Keep up the great work and keep on keeping on my friend.
Man I really love your channel, thanks for sharing your knowledge on obtaining a lot of these sounds - which you are really good at, I must say! It is super helpful! Can't wait to have fun with my first eq! Cheers from VA and rock on! 🤘🏻🔥🍻
Thank you for yet another awesome video full of some really useful information. It's super cool to see ya go through so many similar pedals, but, hear the little differences that might just persuade me to pick one of these little guys up soon. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos, I look forward to them, so, please keep on keepin' on. Cheers from Texas.
I just got a Marshall DSL40 combo and watching your videos on the DSL they're super helpful for shaping tones on a Marshall. Keep up the good work dude!
Mate, you always pick such killer riffs! Haven't heard "War is my shepherd" in a while, definitely my jam for the day now 🤘 love you work bro, hope you're doing good
Glad you're back! Love your videos! Even more with the DSL! I Saw your last video and i did not comment at the time cause sometimes i dont know what to say in those type of situations... But i respect a lot your pain. Cheers from Portugal my metal brother 🍺🤘🇵🇹
Dude keep doing these videos man!! I always go to ur video to study tones and the gear to use capture them. Ur videos are amazing just like ur playing. If I may have a request Prong’s tone from the cleansing album. I’ve always loved that tone. Much love and respect from Texas brother. 🤘
My pedal setup is a boss sd1 for a clean boost with the tone knob at noon, mxr ten band eq for another clean mid boost, bbe sonic stomp maximizer and boss ns2. I don’t use any extra gain since my amp (peavey 3120) has a overkill amount on tap. Amp eq treble at noon mids at 11 o’clock and bass at 1-2 o’clock and gain at noon. My tone is tight chunky and punchy. I use bills lawrence usa pickups in my 58 flying v and my bridge pup is flipped just like dimebags. Awesome tone and pedal setup
I love doing this with my Randall RG80, it naturally doesnt have much gain but just from pushing a couple frequences with a 6 band eq in the front I get all the gain I want 🤘🏻
As always amazing tones and technique. 😁 Btw Your videos about shaping tones were super helpful, especially the ones with the mxr eq-bands. So thank You very much, You've been a great help. 😅 And keep Your chin up! Bad things happen and will happen, but it's not worth it to worry about them. It's better to have fun and play metal. 😁
The MXR EQ is really bright. If you flip the two center led lights around. It will turn the whole line off. Except the two volume controls. That's what I did with mine. Just a suggestion.
Yes please keep the videos coming!! Very informative and entertaining!! I believe Marshall should cut you a check because you have helped sell at least one Marshal DSL20HR Thanks! 🤘🤘
Hey I love your videos man, you should try to match a heathen tone like victims of deception or maybe empire of the blind or maybe among the living or spreading the disease tone
Not new as in how old the guitar is but I think it’s new to his collection. Those guitars haven’t been in production since the early 2000s before Dime switched back to Dean in 2004. Those Washburn Dime guitars are really expensive, even the cheaper Korean/China made models are way way over priced just because they’re Washburn Dimes.
Hey Chopper. Killer video man. Can you describe how you utilize reverb when it comes to metal? Would you buy a reverb pedal if your amp didn’t have reverb?
Hey Anthony, a fear factory tone chase would be awesome don't know if your a fan or not. They kinda got lumped into the nu metal genre witch I love some nu metal but they were more then that. Obsolete is one of my all time favourite albums up to digimortal was there peak for me. Dino cazares created some unforgettable riffs. I suggest giving brujeria a listen too brutal band they were he played in.
I’m good thanks mate, for a while there i just couldn’t think of anything worse than sitting in my room wasting my weekend editing videos. I wanted to make videos and play riffs but all the behind the scenes work was too much. The perceived pressure to keep up on the hamster wheel in UA-cam takes its toll. I totally understand how loads of you tubers get burned out scratching for ideas and never able to switch off. I take a break every now and then whenever it’s not fun anymore. I feel good man 🙏🏻
One thing i absolutely love about you is you play riff exactly like in a recording without any backing track
welcome to guitar playing.
Indeed
Amazing to have you back lamb but hope you are doing okay man 🤘
Why, something was wrong?

Great tones! Perhaps you should have your own pedal, "The Bird Pedal", the most beakstastic tone ever! Cheers!
Always on point Chops
I could listen to the riffs from Revolution Is My Name all day. One of my favorites.
If you see a SD-1 overdrive + P&P skateboard on the same room ... you know this guy is for real. Keep it up man!
Really appreciate your knowledge and passion for chasing tones, you have infected me with this desire to find and create tones thank you
You're like the god of 80's/90's thrash tone.
I'm so glad that you've come back mate and that you haven't given up on making another great video. Thank you

T-Shirt slogan incoming- "It's all about ripping your face off, and having fun" 😎
You should do Power Trip’s guitar tone off of Nightmare Logic, if you haven’t listened to them then I’d highly recommend you do
That would be fun!
Learning the rhythm parts to Swing of the Axe and Soul Sacrifice
RIP Riley!! 🤘🤘
Fort Worth represent ❤️
They have such a badass guitar tone. The breakdown in Crucifixation is one of the greatest moments in modern metal.
@@supergamechannelforadults7939 Such a good song, Riley’s vocals are fucking crushing on that one too. Such a damned shame he left us so early.

Exelente video.Muchas gracias por compartir este tipo de cosas en UA-cam. Es uno de mis canales favoritos de guitarra. Saludos desde Argentina.
I really like the Gary Holt overdrive. It packs a punch & you don't loose much mids.
Thanks for the awesome tips! My rig is really starting to look a lot like yours... and is all the better for it. I'm so happy the channel is continuing, it really is my favourite. I'd love to see you do a rundown of all your guitars and gear.

The bird is an awesome addition to the vids. 🦜 So cute seeing it’s reaction. Love that guitar too!

Is it pronounced dimes lime? Or dime slime? Honestly it could be either or lol.

Its a washburn D3, they don’t make em anymore. Really expensive guitar.

I'm pretty sure it's one of the DHgate Chinese replica D3's you can get now. Still nice though!
please don't use those cable-less patch cables. they'll wreck the jacks in your pedals in time. great video and sounds regardless!
Hey Chopper. Killer video man. Can you describe how you utilize reverb when it comes to metal? Would you buy a reverb pedal if your amp didn’t have reverb?
I like reverb in solos, I would buy one if my amp didn’t come equipped.
I’d only use it through the loop though, never the front end
