Ohh my goodness, I am originally from Sandbach, and live in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire now, I used to go on the bus from Sandbach as a girl, to go shopping. I would save my money to go and treat myself in the shops and at the market. This fills my heart with sadness, as I remember the thriving and bustling town. This is what the internet has done to our country, unfortunately. People want clicks and not bricks.
Thanks for that, really makes St Helens look great and that's really saying something. You know it's bad when Admiral has gone and Poundworld. Good vid, I come from Chester originally, what a contrast.
Omg how utterly depressing?! What happened? Crewe in the early 90's was a thriving shopping center! What are the locals doing for work? 😮 What about when they need items from the shops? How did it get like this? It's honestly sad and depressing, like a ghost town 😢
@@Shankar.Raja.MCR.108fair point, but it's more than just online shopping. This channel just posted a video of Nantwich town center and it's still busy, lots of open shops and businesses and very clean! It's only a few miles from Crewe...
That's really depressing. Must add though that lots of the shops in West Street with shutters are still trading. This bit of filming was obviously done on a Wednesday as West Street still observes Wednesday closing as in bygone years
What the he'll as happend to crewe used to be a bustling town for shopping.People pull Rhyl down for worst place to live..it must be depressing living in Crewe and nowhere to shop.Think I will stay in Rhyl if this is the future for towns like crewe.Yes I used to live in Cheshire
Crewe's not so bad, High Streets and shopping centres have been killed by Amazon, Ebay and out of town shopping centres, Macclesfield is a nice town but now it's just charity shops and Stockport just awarded best place to live in the NW hardly any shops left, Britain has changed the High Street has had its day.

The poles love it!
I bet. Hear more Polish speaking and other Countries when walking around the Supermarkets these days than English.
Obnoxious comment, grow up.

The last time I visited Crewe town centre was 1998 and back then it wasn't a bad place to shop, although nearby Nantwich looked more prosperous.
the internet happened - Amazon happened. I'm amazed people even need to ask..
