This is a start... my son has about 5 or 6 video game systems he wants to shoot to a single monitor and a single sound bar. Do you have a switcher for that many systems?
60hz lmao, this aint it
Hey i have an xbox series x and i want to get a dac/amp so i can enhance the sound of my headset Do i use this to plug my headset into dac/amp and dac/amp goes plugged into this device and then from the device i run a usb cable into my xbox?
Sadly, no it won't work for me.
I would like all analog channels of 5.1 uncompressed. I have a gig pa system for amps and speakers so don't need a receiver.
It seems that there aren't any products that do what I want...
Hello Steve, I bought this product to connect the PS5 to my amplifier, I have a Harman Kardon AVR110, I do get sound but I'm unable to get 5.1, can I get any help?
More boxes, more cables, more mess. And all because they decided not to give us a separate audio output any longer. Keeping my PS4. Problem solved.
Or the company says it comes with speakers and you’ll have to update the drivers and all you have is a busted up laptop and the Xbox/ps4-5 😂
0:08 The problem you are describing is exactly what im going through right now. You did a very good job at explaining everything i need to know about getting audio from my ps5 while using a monitor with no sound input. Very simple and easy to follow 👍🏼. I just bought the same extractor at the beginning of the video Thank you for the helpful explanation video.
Thanks, I just googled HDMI extractor, you were the first video and its refreshing to see a practical explanation of a product without all the fluff of filling up videos with nonsense. Good work and I'll check out a few more videos.
You're welcome.
Agreed! Thanks?
You saved me man ! I bought a projector and a screen without thinking that the projector would only pick up stereo from any hdmi input while only stereo jack output is available :'( ... I was looking at 1K€ setups to solve that problem :D this is exactly what I was looking for... THANKS SO MUCH !
Just got one of these babies for my PS5 to hook up to my receiver to play Call if Duty MW2. Works like a charm! This video easily explained how to hook it up and I had no problems. Now I almost feel every explosion, and bullet whizzing past my ear thanks to this hook up. Thanks Tech Steve!
Ps. Ordered this directly from ORei, and had it in like 2 days. So happy!
You’re welcome, the channels get credit for Amazon orders just so you’re aware.
Was goin' through theory trying to figure out how it was all going to come together for my setup, and this video was perfectly what I needed. I really appreciated the live test as well so I could verify there's no delay. Dope ass video!
You’re welcome
THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY SHOWING THE CONNECTION! I had to search to people just talking about it and showing a picture....SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks for this. I didn't realise until watching your video that I have my gear hooked up wrong, with loads of optical cables trailing all over the place when I really only needed the one as you demonstrated here. I already had 4k switcher, and have now just ordered myself the Oriel Optical Adapter. It will be nice having all my consoles going through just the one optical cable. My PS5 arrives today so I found your video just in time, as I didn't realise it had no optical port. Thanks again for a no nonsense, straight to the point video!
You’re welcome Kerri 👍🏽
I’m kinda looking for something similar. I want an all in one box that has HDMI splitters so I can’t hook up my Bose TV Speaker to my TV’s eARC port for volume control. It can be a bit confusing though
I stumbled upon this video randomly while googling for an audio extractor with multiple inputs and I struck gold.
Because the reason I was looking for one is that I want to connect multiple consoles to a monitor and I had no clue if connecting them to a HDMI switch first and then the switch to the extractor would still work.
But it looks like it does, which not only answers my question but also saves me time looking for a probably pricier alternative.
Cheers.
You’re welcome
its crazy how long Ive been looking for a solution to this exact problem, my prayers have been answered
The best damn review. oRei didn’t do as extensive review as you just did.
Thanks
You’re welcome
I'm Japanese, but the way you review products is great, straightforward, and interesting. I was very impressed.
Thank you very much
thank you so much! I literally had no idea what I'm doing and this was super helpful!
Great video, great explanation and demonstration. This video is helping a lot of people, including me 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the video Steve, this probably would work great for projectors that don't have ARC or optical port for audio, my friend has that problem and is only using a small soundbar with the 3.5mm jack on a 150" screen, movies look amazing but there is no immersion when it comes to sound, we will get this device. Thank you.
I have the same issue. Did this work from tv to audio???
Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I was looking for to connect my Xbox to my speakers.
Cheers! I was just about to have a midnight beer when your video popped up!
Awesome video. I just ordered the part. And can't wait to have My Xbox bumpin agen on the old school set up👍🏼
Exactly what I was looking for thank you!!
Thank you for making this video! I’m glad I found this video. I recently got a LG monitor. I was a bit disappointed about the no built in speakers. My monitor does have a headphone out. I got some speakers but I kinda don’t want to rely on that connection. I had to put audio at loudest just to hear the speakers. Your steps are very simple and easy to follow. I can’t wait to receive my hdmi extractor to set it up the way you shown in the video.
@obliviousmode Hello I just wanted to know if it worked for you and if the audio quality was good, because I think I’m in the same boat as you. I have an LG monitor too it’s the ultra gaming one.
@@triscuit6449 I sounds okay. I do notice that not all sounds are maybe properly being output. I have a PS3 hooked up to it. The PS3 has a distinctive sound when navigating the menu screens. It sounds muffled at times. I have another PS3 on a regular tv with hdmi output. You can clearly hear the distinctive sounds on a tv with speakers built in.
@@obliviousmode575 okay Thankyou for the response
You deserve millions of subs I just watched ur mac cleanser vid and it worked perfectly
Thanks, it takes time to build that many subs but I’ll keep cranking out video for now.
THANK YOU! Tried to switch up my setup today, and ran into this problem! Now hopefully Best Buy can help me out same day
Nice clear instructions. Thank you...!😊
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for the video. I was on the fence about buying one until watching this video because this is exactly the issue I was having.
straight to the point, concise video. thank you!
Thanks, Steve. i was so confused about connecting my PS5. your video helped me to understand. I connected my PS5 with Sony E4100. It is really working great.
Uggh sigh of relief, I was searching for this thank you.
show de bola! you really deserve a lot of thumbs up! nice video! greetings from Brazil!
Thanks @neo
Man hands down the best video to explain it thank you so much
Thank you so much bro this helped me I was looking for a good device to help get sound out my speakers without connecting it to my controller!! Thank you so much
exactly what I was looking for my racing sim that will support both PC and PS5 but will be played using a monitor. Thanks!!
Thanks for the explanation. That was very helpful.
Nice video keep the info coming. Thank for what you’re doing 😎

Cool thanks for the video you made a video about it
Thank you, you have saved my life.
You’re welcome
Absolutely brilliant video. Thank you for skipping all of the pointless tech jargon some people go on about and demonstrating simply how to do it step by step. You are a life saver. Thank you! Great video.
My brotha thank you very much 🙏 I appreciate you for helpin me 💯
You’re welcome
Thanks Steve, now a can enjoy 5.1 sound out of my ancient Denon 3803 avr amp again from my Ps5. 👍
👍🏽
Exactly what I needed for my PS5 and Logitech G560 speaker setup
couldnt you just connect it via USB directly to the ps5?
Did this work for you? Are you still able to get 4k and HDR? I have LG ULTRA GEAR, and using this, I no longer get HDR or 4k. My ps5 can't recognize my monitor anymore..

Have a jtech extractor and I was having issues and your video helped thanks for the help
No problem 👍
Thanks for this very helpful info. I purchased the Logitech Z906 and have a PS5 and hope now, that I can use my new 5.1 thx surround system together. I will test it.
Thank you! Found my old PS3 monitor so now I can use it for my gaming pc as a second monitor
Big help Thank You!
Super helpful thanks.
You’re welcome
Another great video Bro 😎 JJ London uk 🇬🇧 across the pond
Thanks Ronnie from 🇬🇧 👍🏽
Thank you Tech Steve. The last set up in this video was perfect for me and works like a dream. I don't have the same HDMI Switcher because I needed one with 5 IN ports, slso the one I have automatically switches between devices without me having to think about doing it mysef, so I find I have no need for the remote that came with it. Gone are the the numerous optical cables going everywhere that was clogging up the back of my TV. I thank you once again for taking the time to teach us these things Steve. You're a star my friend!
if only I could like this video multiple times
a practical solution to my exact problem
every other search was taking me to solutions of TVs with optical port or HDMI eArc
I appreciate that
Excellent video! I will use the last setup soon for N Switch and TV media box, and Miracast unit, because my f*cking TV doesn't have an optical out towards the soundbar. The previous TV had one and we got used to the rich sound of the bar instead of the flat one of the TV. The HDMI selector is already in use.
I just ordered my thought your link in Amazon, hopefully you get a commission for it, thank you so much.
I appreciate any and all support, thanks 🙏🏽
Thanks for the info my Samsung TV Optical audio stop working and didn't not want to buy or repair the TV this is a great work round for my ps5 surround sound
Great video 👍, is audio output only on audio out connector? Or booth hdmi and audio connector?
Steve!! Amazing job man! But would be amazing if you could test the input lag of this device... now 90% of PlayStation 5 players are using the Astro hdmi adapters to extract the audio, i m sure I have a lot of input lag with it but I realized nobody tested it yet! Maybe is a tip for one of your future video ;)
My tester wouldn’t pass thru that’s why it didn’t show 🤫

Hello Steve,
I connected my PS5 to my YAMAHA DSP-A5 using an optical cable, do you confirm that with the proper source ( movie or video game encoded in doldy digital or dts ), I should have the same output on my amplifier ? Because for now I only have 70mm written on my amplifier ( Dolby Pro Logic ) so that is very disappointing.
Thank you for your answer.
P.S. : If you have any idea how to solve that problem…
Saved my bacon bro. Thanks
Great video! Does a hdmi splitter box work if you want to send single hdmi input cable from game console (nintento switch) to double output: 1 video hdmi cable to beamer and 2 hdmi cable for audio from the hdmi splitter to a hdmi soundbar?
Subscribed! Great video. Super concise. Does the extractor support volume control, provided of course that the source does too? Perhaps that requires a dac....I want to use it coming from a tv.
It not for output from a TV it’s for inputs, you may need this ua-cam.com/video/3htbzSAjt_s/v-deo.html
Make sure you buy one with HDR support. Now there are extractors that allow for variable refresh rates and up to 8k support. These are fairly expensive so get what you think you'll need for your current setup unless you plan to upgrade your monitor to Dolby vision which you will need an extractor that supports that. While this UA-cam tech support gave you some hope he left out important information which I included. I hope this helps.
4K120Hz HDMI 2.1 Audio Extractor - The Wait Is Over!
ua-cam.com/video/xruON4hHCxI/v-deo.html
Analogue is 2.0 stereo. Fibre optics is uncompressed stereo but only compressed 5.1 surround. We need 6 and 8 channel Toslink and Coaxial to DSP active speakers. Also the software to control output levels to each speaker.
Excellent video. If the TV box to which it is connected is playing Dolby True HD / Dolby Atmos / Dts Master Audio / DTSX sound, will this allow the audio to be reproduced in 5.1 surround form via SPIDF (optical audio output) without the need for a receiver?
Sorry I didn't test all those features, go to OREI and ask them on the Amazon site
Hello @tech Steve. Saw ur video loved it ,got it .. I have question tho if u can help . Dell u2718q monitor ,ps5 and edifier r1280db speakers. I use an optical cable to connect to the speakers from the extractor. What's the best settings on the ps5 and the 3 switches on the audio extractor (tv,bitstream,2ch)... thanks
Nice video and demonstration man! I just wonder if you can tell me whether or not I will keep VRR functionality using my ps5?
I will be using Dell G2724D monitor... No audio port... Has Hdmi 2.0 only but offers VRR with ps5 through hdmi forum VRR...
Will it still work if I use this extractor I'm wondering (with HQ hdmi 2.1 cables used of course)?
I'm hoping this one works for my setup just saw your video thank you purchased with your recommendations so my fingers are crossed that it will work. I Purchase the J Tech audio extractor and I could not get any video to play through . I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong one .
Hi Steve. Fantastic videos!!!!!
Can you help me please? I have a projector that only has an aux out for sound. How can I get from the aux out to hdmi so I can connect to my arc soundbar!
Hi Steve! Wondering if this might work for me and my purposes. I have a Samsung G9 monitor and Kanto Yu2 speakers. What I’m hoping to do is be able to connect both my MacBook and ps5/switch (both are currently on a HDMI switcher) to the monitor and hear sound from both. Is this something that would be possible with the HDMI extractor? Currently the Mac is connected to the Yu2 speakers with a USB, and there’s also a 3.5 mm port in the speakers so I was hoping I could do both
Thanks a lot. Please let me ask....will I still get audio through the HDMI out? I basically need two outputs - HDMI and jack.
Hi I just see your post on UA-cam is about Orei hdmi audio extractor for ps5 to stereo system, just wonder to know this one will be working on Bose soundbar as well ??
TOMORROW I WILL GO TO BESTBUY 😂! you save me !
Hi Steve thanks for the video, do these adapters affect how freesync operates (matching frame rate to frequency input from console or pc etc)
Most doesn’t
Great video, i used this last night for an outdoor movie w a projector. The picture didnt look good. Had a bad purple tint . Any thoughts
This is a old model they have newer models that supports 4k and that will support more colors as well. But when I made this video 3 yrs ago i don’t remember seeing any issues with the colors, check your cables and settings
You got the PS5! Awesome! Can you please do a video of it running on Samsung Series 7 TVs? Thanks.
I will soon
Have you ever measured the influence of your devices in regards of input lag (button to display delay?) Or is there anybody who knows results about this?
I haven’t and there’s such a small percentage of people who would even know the difference. The best way is to buy top of the line with all the proper outputs and inputs.
Thank you for the helpful video. Will there be any lag if I use this setup or similar ones?
There’s always going to be lag but I didn’t notice anything distracting
@@TechSteve thank you
will this allow me to control the audio hooked up to speakers with just the tv remote? or do you know of another converter that would?
Nope, fiber optics is light that doesn’t allow you to control, you can only control volume HDMI ARC or headphone outputs on some TVs
Thank you, this helps e a lot. But, do you know any product that will have both extractor and HDMI switch in one device?
I haven’t seen one
@@TechSteve thank you for the reply.sorry if my question was not clear as I don't know how to describe it. I have seen your Orei video which is what I need but with the option to output sound via RCA
just curious how much of an audio delay is there when using this extractor, also curious about input delays.
Hi! I wanna buy one of this in Mexico but I realized that there are a lot of brands... Could you tell me if this brand work fine?? Great video..
I want to ask a question about my setup. I have 5.1 speakers with only 3.5 mm connection that I use with my PC (that three orange, green, black inputs). I also have PS5 and a monitor with HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone input. My question is; is there a way to get surround 5 channel sound with this system on the PS5?
I think I can use a cable switcher that makes 3 (green, orange, black) outputs from the speaker to one 3.5 mm output. And put it into monitor's headphone input. But that gives a stereo sound I'm guessing.
Before I watch this does this video explain how I can connect a smart TV to my old big speakers with 3.5mm aux wire. Because I need those speakers idc for Bluetooth or optical connection. Smart TVs are annoying how they couldn't keep the aux option to
So could I use this to run a line into an audio recorder to get clean audio from my game and then clean audio from my microphone to create gaming videos?
Hi Steve. I take it that the 3 console set up works the same when using the Toslink to an amplifier? Thank you!
Yes, sir
THANK YOU i bought it because of you ): , but can you give me advice, i have high end speaker ,so every speaker have its power supply, so they are not connected to each other, i need dac to connect them also support dolby and i can control the volume from the dac , by the way my device is xbox series x and my speakers focal shape 40
i forgot to mention , i have aune x1s dac for my pc , its great i can control the volume from the software windows volume ): , but when i connected to xbox via hdmi audio splitter the sound too high and disturbing
Hey Steve, can i use the 3.5 mmm jack and optical at the same time, like using two speakers
Didn’t try
Steve, one of your new subscribers here (Lou). Will this extractor setup work to connect my Samsung Q60T to my Sony “wireless” headphones that use RCA/3.5?
Thanks 🙏
No you need this ua-cam.com/video/3htbzSAjt_s/v-deo.html
Heaving an old a/v recirver with hdmi 1.4 this is ideal
Can I use this for my Astro A50's? PS5 doesnt have a optical port so I cant run 120hz and have the amazing audio my astro A50's have at the same time I have to choose 60hhz and great audio or 120hz and poor audio.
Would I be able to do this for the Bose companion 5 speaker? I’ve been having trouble connecting it to my Xbox one
Does this one support 120hz at 1080p passthrough? I didnt know if you were saying it didnt work at 4k or if you meant in general
Hi Steve. Thank you for this video. I'm just wondering does this perform the same as the ones that Astro sells? I remember you also have produced a video for that too.
I just recently purchased a PS5 and I can't use my Turtle Beach PX4 on it now since it has no optical out. I'm thinking if I should just purchased this same hdmi extractor or should opt for Astro ones.
As good or better plus it has a analog output
