    Ok.. so.. I love Balade Sauvage. I also love fig and greens. So I sampled this, fully expecting to hate it because of the vitriol it has been getting... and I love it. I actually want to buy this. It's very nice in warm weather! No, it's not changing any lives, but I like how I smell when I wear it. Thank you for your review!

      Wear it and love it! You are the one who knows what you love. I believe this perfume will be liked by many. Francis Kurkdjian has made a scent that goes very well with the existing line in my opinion. He may not do what some perfume enthousiats would want him to do, but my impression is that he does very well for Dior. I admit that I am also secretly hoping for this amazingly different and wonderful creation. But who knows if Dior as a house even wants that?

    • @nightxnight
      @nightxnight Рік тому +1

      @@L-Ondee Absolutely agree. I do really hope he gets the opportunity (or wants) to do something more creative and innovative than this first scent. However, I'm just happy it falls into the realm of one of my favorite notes. Also! Rumor is they may discontinue Balade Sauvage... and if so, this might stand in its place. I'm not sure I'd be happy with that, however I already have a bottle of B.S. myself..

    I’m a bit late but I got a sample of this and (unpopular opinion) I really like this fragrance!
    The fact that the scent is simple, it smells more like nature than it smells like a perfume is what makes it great for me.
    It also has a really really good longevity on my skin, up to 18 hours which bugs me as usually perfumes perform very poorly on my skin.
    Of course it doesn’t project for that long, maybe 2-3 hours before it becomes a skin scent.
    Unfortunately it leans a bit to feminine for me to feel comfortable wearing it, which makes me incredibly sad lol!
    I won’t buy this one and just keep my sample to wear it from time to time…
    Finally, thank you for the video good sir! I recently discovered your channel and I am really enjoying your content, I think you’re very interesting, sincere and knowledgeable! :)

    When I first smelled this when it launched I was underwhelmed. Kept the mini. Then tried it again this spring and I can't get enough of it. The scent wafts in the air and lingers longer than I expected. It's addicting now. It goes quite herbal/incense-ish on me while staying fresh and I want to bury my face in it, ha!

    Dioriviera has been used as a name for the prêt à porter capsule collection which is released every summer(?) which includes summer dresses, swimsuits, sandals, surfboards etc etc. For use when one goes yachting and to stay at the summer house on the Riviera you see.

    Smelled it today in Cannes… there is quality here, but nothing original… it’s so boring… and in a marketing perspective, as someone born in the south of France, brands have to stop trying to capture the Côte d’Azur spirit and use this cliché for selling things. Hope FK will came back with something bolder 🙏

    I’m sure that being the in-house perfumer doesn’t preclude the need to please the in-house marketing committee. The large brands are probably the least likely to really take chances, so no Dior fragrance will be totally MFK in DNA.

    I feel bad for the toweringly talented capitaine. Everything he puts out will be disproportionately harshly judged, leaving no creation to stand on its own merits. It wouldn't surprise me if he quits prematurely, preferring a return to captaining his own MFK bateau rather than Arnaud's denigratory superyacht. Lovely video as always, D. Thank you.

    You need to smell Fig My Love from The Zoo NYC, by Christophe Laudamiel, as others in the live chat suggested. I know that it's not particularly on your radar, and multiple factors go into what to review, but even for your own personal enjoyment, I cannot stress it enough. It will make every other fig pale in comparison, especially because of expertly judged organosulfur compounds in the composition.

      @AllWordsAreDust Yes, Tubéreuse Organique. I am obsessed with tuberose fragrances from vintage to modern and there's honestly nothing else like it. I had deja vu smelling it, not because it reminded me of a perfume but of the actual flower itself. It's honestly more realistic than smelling a bouquet of tuberose in a flower shop. I do own Club Design too.
