Mr. P, My husband & I are watching the replay and greatly enjoying the care, attention, & obvious adoration with which you speak of Madame P. 😀❤️ In our inexpert opinions, you two seem to balance one another out just brilliantly! We feel like we know you both a little bit better, 😃 Also, some great fragrances! Rachel & Tim
Helloooo Dariush Jan!! I have been MIA but still watching from afar. Work and moving across the country got in the way, but hoping to do your lives on Sundays soon again. So, is your wife a middle eastern vampire? Never mind, no need for an answer!! Your hilarious attempt to keep her incognito, just keeps us all guessing even more. What an incredible concentration of oud; that makes me think she is not Iranian. Most Iranian women I know are not huge lovers of oud (leaning toward French perfumes instead), b/c even though we have oud in Iran, it's very much an Arabic import for us, culturally!! You already did the top 10 for her from your POV, how about a purely Mdm. Persolais top 10 for herself w/ no input from you? Great video as usual. ❤️😜🙏
Madame P. has excellent taste, and not just in things perfumery ;-) This was such a fun video, thank you for posting! And Tauers Incense Extrême is one of my favorites, too.
When you watch Persolaise's perfumes videos as if they were the last chapters of Stranger things on Netflix... Or as if they were your favourite writer's last detective story... Read or shot by your favourite teacher. You want to rush and at the same time savour every minute, all while taking mental notes as to not forget anything because everything makes sense and there is a purpose in each episodes. And now I need a lie-down, haha. Well seriously, subjects like Guerlain and themes like Madame Persolaise's favourite scents on you are just too good. Her choices may be linear as you said but as a beginner I appreciated it because I feel like I learned quite a lot about raw materials like leather, ouds, rose and incense. I say beginner but that level of excitement for perfume reviews made by you makes me one more in the geek community I guess. That and the fact that in the space of three months I have been able to recognize on 3 different women Diva, Aromatics Elixir and N°5 Edt.
They are somo ones that I put me in the right mood , I remember the Xerius Rouge I of Givenchy put my ♥️💋💯 but the reformulation killed all my fantasies.
Yes, he wears it quite often! We've bonded a lot over the olfactive... It's joyful and emotional and he admits it's opened up his perception. Thank you for the excellent content, as always. (Kate Bush, too much!! Lol)
Loved this top 10 and insight into the mysterious Madame Persolaise 😊 Regarding Habit Rouge, how does the edt compare with the edp? I typically prefer edps with Guerlain but have only tried the edt in this case and know many prefer Habit Rouge edt. Is the the edp more "feminine"?
@Lia Andrews I only know the EdT too but I am a happy woman wearing it ! At first I was confused by the leather aspect which I wasn't used to at all in any obvious way in the perfumes I know, but now I find it indeed confortable, confidence boosting and reassuring :)
Adore your videos. Love hearing of Madame P’s preferences on you. I imagine your fragrance collection is rather expanse. How do you store your collection?
Madame Persolaise certainly has an excellent taste. I'm now considering blind buying Mukhalat Malaki, as it has become available in some Polish online stores for a decent price, around 45 pounds. After binge watching a bunch of your videos, however, my must try list is getting longer and longer and now I must decide between this or Adorem or a ridiculously expensive 5 ml decant of L'Heure Nuit. Ah, decisions decision #firstworldproblems
@@Persolaise Thank you for the suggestion! I have heard that current Mukhalat Malaki might be poorer quality than it used to be, so I think I will choose Adorem. Thanks for helping me with the decision 😊
Thank you for a fun run through of some great scents. It also made me think about to what extent we should think about other people when making our perfume choices. like Freddie Malle's Superstitious a scent I absolutely adore yet my partner, like you, is not a fan. Whatever should I do? (SPOILER I just wear it)
I think you're lucky in a way that your partners like or dislike whatever perfumes you wear. My husband couldn't care less, which is both freeing and frustrating... When I wear perfume, when I talk about perfume, he doesn't know what to say and just stares. 🙄
Sarah Baker Flame and Fortune works on both myself and my wife.. Would love to try Oud Rosewood,,, will have a look for decant to try it. I have a decant of oud Ispahan and I like it, even for me to wear.
Other than being entirely too educative and ambrosial to watch, your videos are always tender and soporific (compliment!). Perhaps start a second channel dedicated to ASMR and perfume and call it PersoLAZE...mmmm lovely. Also, I wonder if you've ever had the opportunity of snorting Dior's Oud oil (Elixir Précieux or whatever the hell it's called). It's utterly byzantine and fathomless in its oudy, stinky, tenacious beauty. I once dabbed it behind my ears and it was going strong THREE days (and three showers) later! Mrs. P would heartily approve. Bye and thank you, D! ❤️
I followed your recommendation and ordered a bottle of Mukhalat Malaki- it's unbelievable! Thank you very much By the way, have you ever tried Rose and Musk?
Loved this list , the new habit rouge is available on myorigins website they ship to UK easily I've used them several times. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on it
Swiss Arabian Mukhalat Malaki. Gonna bookmark. I picked up samples from them. BOGO mix and match type of thing. I must have got 40 or 50 samples for under 20. Haven't even got to them yet. Good burnables as you know. I also pick up burnables from ASAQ. I like the house of Ajmal. Some of their stuff is nuclear. Persolaise, Guerlain is putting some of their, if not all, the Habit Rouge etc, in the Ideal style bottles. I am going to get a backup of Habit Rouge and Heritage in the Listerine bottles. They are still around but are getting a bit harder to find at the discounters etc. In regards to Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver. From the Hermes page. "Opps. Looks like what your looking for is no longer available". A week and a half ago, it was available on their site, as well as Herods etc. Searching for that one. SOTD. Boss Hugo Boss edt Boss No.1 Eurocos Frankfurt/M. UTIF 799. Back up bottle worthy. Have a great day Mr.P

I am so jealous of your habit rouge bottle. Yours has pronounced red stripes at the left and right corners of the red label. And guerlain is not written in italic. I have 3 silver cap habit rouge edt perfumes and 1 vintage gold cap. Two of my silver cap HRs have guerlain written in Italic and no stripes at all (2R01 batch code) = 2012 version. The other one had the two metal stripes (just like the vetiver/vetiver extreme, and batch is 1S01. But I happen to know that you have a 200 ml bottle of habit rouge with Guerlain written in italic. Any differences sir? Especially longevity and diffusion?
GOD I love Leather Oud - you are so lucky to have a better half who enjoys it (the indomitable Madame Babysmoker is quite vocal in her distaste haha... ahhh :*( lol)! I personally don't find it particularly animalic or dark at all, in fact I find there to be a kind of airy or transparent quality, almost a brightness, to it while still being dense & exceptionally long lasting. I had no idea about the logo on the cap (very interesting!) - my bottle has the initials connected, so I do wonder how it compares to earlier formulations... that said I originally had a 10ml sample that I got in 2018ish which was decanted from a bottle from who knows when, & I really don't notice any marked differences between that juice & my 200ml bottle purchased between 2020-21. It always calls to mind a hint of banana for me (but not at all the banana leaf that I've encountered in some others fragrances & find decidedly unattractive)... not something that would generally appeal to me at first blush, but I love every single thing about Leather Oud so what can I say? Another top notch exposition, as per usual, Mr. Persolaise!
Persolaise, you produced another epic video for all fragrance lovers to watch.
That's too kind, Ed. Thank you.

Regarding Habit Rouge, how does the edt compare with the edp? I typically prefer edps with Guerlain but have only tried the edt in this case and know many prefer Habit Rouge edt. Is the the edp more "feminine"?
The edp is denser and seems to have less room to breathe. Somehow, it just doesn’t ‘work’ as well.
