I worked in the tourist industry in the early 90's when I lived on Maui. I remember a couple overnighters on Oahu back in the 90's, but never really had a desire to the have a real vacation there until watching this video. I've never really seen any good resort footage of Oahu until now. This video is great!! Thank you.
We just booked turtle bay before finding this video and guide! So glad we made the right decision. 2 families and 5 kids. Should be a great time. Thanks so much for all the great nuggets!
Great info thank you, I was just checking prices for our family to stay, per night (Australian dollars), yikes! Hilton $578 Royal Hawaiian $799 Sheraton Waikiki $820 Disney $1288 Four seasons - sold out Marriotts $1400 Turtle bay $1192
Love this video - we love waikiki and the North shore! We stay in Waikiki for most of our stay but always come to Turtle Bay for a couple of nights. Where is the waterfall at 22:32?!
Thanks! The waterfall is Waimea Falls, at Waimea Bay on the North Shore. Check out our Turtle Bay Review video for more footage and other things to do on the north shore, if you are interested.
No way! I said it was there but my husband said it wasn't because you couldn't see any of the rocks or anything which are there when you enter the pool of water below the waterfall. Where did you shoot that bit from??
@@Ktjte44 From the observation deck or steps to the left of the falls. The water may have been higher than normal as there was a storm on Oahu during our stay. I'm glad you won the bet with your husband!
Haha! I was so pleased about that too! We're actually just watching your North Shore video and saw it was Waimea. It's different from how I remembered. The first time we went it was strong like that but in all the recent videos we've watched, it's just been a trickle!
Hi! So I have been to Hawaii many times, mostly Maui, but also one time to The Big Island and this winter break we will be going to Oahu! We will be staying the first 4 nights at the Royal Hawaiian, it doesn’t seem they have as many vacation rentals on this island that I can see. I love good pools and amenities and restaurant But fine to be on vacation rentals walking distance!Would you recommend a hotel more on this island? Would you recommend the Ko Olina area? Thank you, I love your content
Oahu has implemented more restrictions on vacation rentals than other islands so you can find them in Waikiki or turtle Bay Area. Ko Olina is a great place to stay for couples and romantic getaways at the Four Seasons. See our video ua-cam.com/video/futdCYees3A/v-deo.htmlsi=zwLpvQF68sgG4xKc
Hi I follow you guys and bought your guide. I booked a stay at the HHV but have now read too many reviews that it’s old musty and outdated rooms and don’t wish to stay there. Is Sheraton updated with better rooms?
Yes, for the most part. They have activities for kids without parents. Check the minimum age and what they offer. Every resort has a different kids club.
What do you guys think of the Ilikai next to the HHV? We will be traveling with a baby and toddler and the kitchen is appealing. HHV also has kitchens in the HGV buildings but more expensive than the AirBnB/VRBO rentals at the Ilikai.
Great vid! HHV is our fave. We prefer the vibe and village concept to the other end of the strip. Ko Olina and Turtle bay are just too far away from everything for us.
We found ourselves spending a lot of time around HHV with Henry as there is so much to do in that complex! I didn't go there when I lived on Oahu but appreciate it now as a visitor and dad.
Hello what is the best and easiest way to get to the Hilton Hawaiian Village from the airport? Travelling with a three year old and we are not planning on bringing a car seat. Thanks
Just booked at HHV for the end of may. Do you think $10,000 for 9 nights is worth staying here? I really want to be right on the beach, but I don’t know how I feel about spending this much money. I did look at the other hotels that are on the beach but it seams like the beach area in front of the HHV is a bit less crowded.
Erica's first reaction was wow. We think you can stay at a nicer hotel for a better price (depends on when you're going). Yes, HHV is on a quieter part of Waikiki Beach as it is on the far end but I don't think that is a justification for the price. Check out some of our favorite Waikiki beach hotels here to see if you can find a better price: thehawaiivacationguide.com/stay_category/oahu/ Good luck!!

Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club is your best bet. They are vacation rentals so come with a kitchen. Others have refrigerators but not microwaves or toasters.
Thanks, this is so helpful and fun to watch with you and you adorable little guy.

You made a good choice. They are doing a big remodel right now too so it should be even nicer. We can't wait for it to open again!
Best Hawaii informative channel evaaaa!

yes it can be! especially after their recent remodel. Ko Olina has nice resorts.
Very informative channel. Keep up the good work
Great video! Our kids are all teens but might enjoy some of the resorts you mentioned.
Even adults will enjoy those pools and the locations! Have a great time on your next trip to Hawaii with your ohana.
Thanks for sharing! Looking at hotels now. Already stayed at Aulani but it’s sooo expensive.
So expensive! Yes, this list isn't budget friendly so we are planning on sharing more affordable, family-friendly places for our next trip to Oahu.

Sheraton Waikiki has better rooms. HHV has a newer tower if you can get that. We prefer the Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton for the location and pools.
Can you cook in the room if you have a portable induction cooktop? Or will the hotel fine us?
Kids club means like daycare for kids?
Yes, for the most part. They have activities for kids without parents. Check the minimum age and what they offer. Every resort has a different kids club.

Thank you for great video and information. We plan to stay at the Hilton. BTW, which month did you visit in?

Aloha- any recommendations on reef-safe sunscreens for toddlers? Heard it's required in 2021!
Any non-nano mineral based sunscreen (reef friendly) is great. And sun protective clothing is excellent to use.

Hey there! Is it possible to get a resort pass for like a day to spend at the pool to the Sheraton or Aulani for example?
we haven't heard of such an option. Aulani doesn't but call the Sheraton if they do.
Hello what is the best and easiest way to get to the Hilton Hawaiian Village from the airport?
Travelling with a three year old and we are not planning on bringing a car seat. Thanks
If you're not bringing a car seat, then use Roberts Hawaii bus or The Bus (city bus)
With 3400 rooms, the Hilton allows outsiders onto the resort? Seems like it would be crowded enough.
the grounds are massive, easy to get lost.
We are in Canada and the top of the volcano in maui was no big deal a little windy but nothing like real winter in Canada
is there any resort in hawaii with daycare services ??
the nice resorts have kids clubs. If not, the concierge can recommend day nannies
