I wanna see Paul Goldschmidt win a MVP and thats not because he hasn't won one and finished second twice, it's because he hasn't won one and finished second twice and nobody, nobody has deserved it more than Mr Humble himself
Good to see comments about us being too early in the season to talk MVP! Talking about a great first 1/3 of the season is fine and yes, from a Mets fan, Goldy has been great!
Goldy has some competition for MVP in the NL, but another thing he could get is possibly a World Series win. The Cardinals are one of the biggest contenders in the NL.
Goldy’s woba:442 Xwoba:381 Batting average:343 Xbatting average:276 The man is a legend and can win an mvp this year but he will almost definitely not have a 320+ batting average or 430+ woba. I expect his numbers to be closer to a 950 ops and a 290 batting average(I’ll just hope I don’t look silly come October)
While it is too early, if he keeps this pace then yes will be NL MVP and in my opinion solidify a HOF candidacy if he has 5 more years in him, which it seems like he does. He’s a throwback to a different era of first baseman that were always your top power bats and with how he carries himself on The field.
Goldy Is Hall Of Fame Bound for sure so it’s all good no matter what..not his first season where he is going crazy but he has some crazy stats thus far this year kinda scary this early and he has those numbers….I mean🤷🏻♂️
@@thomaschurch5322 no he is HOF man numbers like his don’t lie he has played better than a majority of the guys already in there I wouldn’t say he is the greatest but HOF bound for sure maybe not first ballot but most def secured
And it’s not just dishing it out with the bat, He has been an all star first baseman his whole career he is arguably the best first baseman of this generation.
Too early to tell. But Goldy, Manny and Mookie have a chance to win it in this year. Maybe Bryce too. Remember last year, he just smoked those balls left and right later that season.
Goldschmidt is arguably the best 1st baseman in the NL right now. Multiple gold glove awards for him. He was underappreciated way too much and overlooked a lot when he was with Arizona. And it’s about damn time they talk about a player that’s not a Dodger or Yankee.
And he doesn’t mind it. While I say his services go under appreciated, he says he’s not one for the spotlight. As long he’s holding that World Series trophy and have a ring on his finger as a Cardinal, no other award can surpass that.
He is playing extremely good baseball but if he wants to be in the MVP talk he’ll need to do what he’s doing but 10 times better. As he has to overcome a lot of other players like Acuña,Soto,Harper etc.
Acuna was injured for the start of the season, Soto has been playing like dog water, and Harper isn't even playing in the field rn while Goldy plays Gold Glove caliber defense on top of his offensive explosion.

Yeah and if I'm the Cardinals I trade Paul DeJong for Mike Trout. Probably go ahead and let go of Jake Woodford for Mookie Betts while we're at it. Since apparently we live in a fantasy world where something this stupid is possible.

I’m not saying Goldy is the mvp but who is the competition? Betts? Who else?
@@donovanjohnson4279 id say betts, harper, machado, and alonso are other contenders. I think goldy is the front runner imo.
He awesome 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great to see Goldy playing so well at this stage of his career. He'll turn 35 in September and just may have the best year of his career.
well, Goldy does have a high chance of getting MVP if he keeps up the good work!
Paul u are MVP month of may congratulations Paul u deserve
Him in the NL, and Judge in the AL. They have been head and shoulders above everyone else
Got damn cardinals have a Living Hall of Fame team bra.
Definitely having an over the top resurgence but remember, Mookie is also in the mix
The Diamondbacks have always been a reliable farm team for the rest of MLB.
except for in 2001
With the acquisition of Aranado, Goldy was out of the spotlight. Which he loves. Great to see him come around!

Betts Machado Goldschmidt. Some of the big names this year in the NL
Mechanically no one else’s swing reminds me of Trout’s the way Goldy’s swing does. It’s not as crisp but the action is very similar.

Knock on wood, MLB. Don’t jinx him like that.

It’s funny how 2 former Diamondbacks players are hitting .340+ JD Martinez and Paul Goldschmidt

This guy has hit 299 homers as of today? As a Yankee fan, I don't think I've seen him hit even one.
5 minutes is a sound bit from earlier in the clip
If the mets could stay the best team in the NL and Alonso keeps up what he's been doing, theres no chance goldy wins.
Literally posted by the mlb but the wrong audio playing with Goldy's Homer to fight against to the Brewers? Like. Really?
Whats up with the audio half way through the video??
Goldy looked like he was declining but man what a story
Yordan is MVP
Yea but he’s in AL not NL
