Check out this video where I walk through the big mistake I made when I first started LEGO investing - ua-cam.com/video/9C-PWnTsh5A/v-deo.html

You consistently give quality content. You’ve convinced me to stick a “toe” in the Lego reseller world. Already made small profit from an eBay sale. Subscribed.

From what i could work out from my research this method looks great but it completely useless at least to me in the uk. Every set i checked whether new or old retired set. Medium price or high price. It was far cheaper for me to buy the lego set already put together by someone else and buy off ebay either with or without an original box. In some cases i could buy the lego brand new and still save 100's of pounds of my money instead of using this method. This method might work for you if live somewhere other than uk. But for me the cost was way too high and it didnt even included the shipping either. Which would of made even more pricy. Looks like a great idea if your a us citizen if not your screwed haha.

The only thing you're missing is the cost to ship these parts to you. On smaller orders it can sometimes double triple your price. Especially from anything coming international.

@@BrickBucks Also BrickLink as default uses "any" condition of pieces, i dont know the exact algorithm for the shop to decide what quality of bricks to pick, but you will surely end up with some used ones. So check that one out. If you use new only, the price goes up ofc
EDIT : Also "used" pieces means different thing to different sellers, always check their main page for more info. I got case when used was dented and the opposite extremes as well.
btw nice vids you make, sadly its of limited use to non US guys

Managed to collect many of the smaller classic space sets using this method. It’s perfect to avoid paying crazy prices for complete even used sets. Some printed parts can be problematic but if your willing to patient then it’s worth it and will save you $$$

I'm a Lego investor/trader in the UK - being doing it for three years or so - and what you say is spot on. Even though we deal in different countries, the same themes/ideas/observations emerge. I'm not going buying bricks and assembling - too time consuming for me. Great idea if you have the time though.

Great video Jim! I think this method could work well for certain sets. I’m curious how much of a demand there is from buyers for this type of listing on eBay. Would be interested in seeing a recap video of how it went for you!

Jim thats a great idea im curious to see the results of buying the parts building them and selling the completed set. Sounds labor intensive for an investor hehe

Ignore the negative comments. Good video. This method is hard work, however you can get creative with bricklink and make money sourcing here.

Yeah i agree. I have been playing with a few sets that i can get the pieces at a cheap price that it's profitable, and they are a bit hard to find. But as long as you don't do it with sets that have expensive minifigs it's easier. I have found some architech sets to be really good!

I wonder how many no box Curiosity Rovers are going to show up on eBay in the next month now! I have been doing something similar for a couple of weeks now to avoid opening investment sets.

You didn’t include shipping and handling plus paypal fee from every parcel you buy to complete sets.

Another great video. You've gained a huge fan from the UK. I have been running a bricklink store for a while now, buying sets and parting them out, and have been keeping some sets aside as investments, but I certainly want to lean more into the investment side. I need to take the plunge for a UK FBA account to be able to start selling from next Q4 but your videos are extremely informative and, to be honest, a breath of fresh air from the normal 'vague' Lego UA-cam videos we get where people don't like to give out too much info on their Lego money-making ventures. Keep it up - I will explore your Patreon
