All right. My opponent is going to grab me by the throat, the guillotine, standing guillotine, and I'm going to show you the defense to that.
He grabs me by the neck here. The most important thing once again with chokes is you don't panic. There's no point in spazzing out right here. The first thing you do is survive. In this case, what does that mean? I grab his wrist and pull on it. Look, I just grab his wrist a little. Let's say he's much stronger than me. I'm not going to be able to yank this hand off, but I'll simply take a little pressure off. Now my opposite hand will come over his shoulder. I will now walk to the side of the hand over the shoulder. Once I get to his side, my back leg will click right behind his knee. That drops him down to the ground, I get up. I'm ready to strike. I'm ready to run.
And that's the proper way to defend against the standing guillotine. - Спорт
Remember: in a real fight, if all else fails, don’t hesitate to target the soft, squishy parts
It doesn't fail, all u need to do is be focused
I bet Lyoto machida wishes he had seen this video
He knew how to do hes a black belt in jujitsu just couldn't get it off in time
he was up against the cage and had no room to step around and was being pushed against it too
right 😆
@@LowTierKamit was a joke
Ouch 😓😢😭😭😭😭
Tip: if all else fails and whoever's choking you still has a grip, from the point on the ground you can link your right arm under the back of his neck to your other arm/hand while still on the ground. The point here is to side choke by linking both arms which puts pressure on his neck/vein which (if fully committed to) can cause your opponent or attacker to let go or pass out before you do. From their perspective in the ground, they can't get a good grip from the side.
I think that’s called the von flue choke
Very useful thanks
Now, this is what I need! This guy is a really good teacher...
I like this guy. Just direct and effective.
Love this guy!!!
Brilliant stuff, just seen someone win a fight by a guillotine so came straight here 😂. New sub ❤
Great job!!
Damn this is smart!
Thanks!

Wonderful instructor, eloquent and badass like a warrior poet.
i think he's an actor too
It also puts you in a better position on the ground because your on the opposite side of their choking arm, which instantly mechanically eliminates any power they had in that choke
when he drops him to the ground, the guy does not have the proper leverage to be able to pull off the gullotine and you have him in side control. you can apply shoulder pressure against the neck which will cause him to let go or you can try going to north south and set him up for an armbar. both will work.
He is falling on the opposite side that choke is being applied on and ending up in topside side control. The guillotine choke is very hard to finish from this angle and more than likely if he doesn't let go of the choke he will tire himself out and yes there is a counter choke, von flue, that can be applied from this position if the bottom guy insists on holding on to the head.
Bro whaaaat it's that dude from Dune
He is from DUNE
Lyoto Machida should of watched this before facing Jon Jones.
Eyy that's the member of THE HAND !
What happens if my oppent starts moving when i try to walk to the side of the hand over the shoulder ? Because when i try it always this happens he stars moving with me and my leg cannot get behind his knee
then gofor the double leg and if he spawls just pull your head out
where can i get that gee?
That's not a guillotine choke though is it? I want to know how to defend when in the blink of an eye he's wrapped his arm tight around your neck like he's trying to rip your head off. Then pushing the hips forward lifting you off the floor.
1:10 if he continues to have a strong grip you can put your right arm under his head and the left grips onto the right hand. Then just put pressure on his neck using your shoulder. Sorry if I explained it badly Idk how to explain it well
Does this work?
@@justsomeguywithtattoos6267 Yes, it's called the von flue choke, look it up and practise it and you're always gonna win
Ive been in this situation...not fun!
nice
You can use the other hand to hit the opponent's groin in that position
Isn't he still holding you after you both fall, it's now a ground guillotine, how do you get out of that?
EPIC
That's Jamis in the Dune!
someones in trouble ;-)
After you grab his arm with your left hand... Try stepping in to punch his groin with the right hand then step past him on his outside... Sensei chess
because you're on his side the choke will apply little pressure and most experienced people will let go of it, but if that doesn't work take the arm nearest to his head and put your forearm on his throat and push down.... trust me he will let go then
Is this the guy from dune?
Yep!
Most importantly, don’t expose your neck! And also learn a good side control for once you do the takedown:)
The opponent will tire out by choking you unconscious... haha, can't celebrate a victory unconscious lol
Is this guy an actor now, looks familiar.
keeewwwwwwlllll!!!
Tomorrow, i will try it on my best friend,
Yeah but what if he’s still choking you when you bring him down ??
I striked my opponent from the knee on belly position after a successful takedown. I was told to leave my BJJ academy 😢
Wasnt he in the defenders
100% just wrote a comment saying the same thing
i almost killed my friend when we were paracticing
Isn’t this guy an actor in The Defenders
Jamis don’t defy Stilgar! You could have trained Paul Atreides in Gracie Barra 😂
But what if they also side step/circle around when you do. Now you can't get the takedown.
Then wait until both of you are standing still
What if he doesn't let go when he falls?
You can perform a von flue choke
Just look to the sky if you are the taller person.
J
What if he keeps circling with you?
The real solution is to reach to his eyes and start squeezing them out. Works even on pitbulls.
Montin Yek In an Arm in guillotine your arm isn’t free to reach up to his eyes, and in a regular guillotine if you are reaching up for his eyes while you are being strangled he will shut his eyes turn his head and choke you to sleep in a few seconds if he has a decent guillotine.
Chris Salas If you pull with your arm over his shoulder and block his leg with yours he will have a hard time turning with you. If he keeps squaring up with you you can also push his hips away and swivel your head back inside and up his chest
My cousin put me in a guillotine and when I tucked my chin and pulled on his right hand he just kneed my in the crotch. Wasn't even expecting that lol
Jeremy Lin jus got wrecked
this season on will.i.am teaches jiujitsu
Go Lebron beat the Lin Down!
1:09 He still held onto you while you put him down so technically if they are tough they could still choke you
nah, at the point your in side mount position. its a lot harder to choke you out in that position plus since your at dominant position you can simply push ur self up, put your elbow on his face and crushing it, he has to let go. and you win.
@@xsova113 Exactly + u can perform a von flue choke
What happens if the opponent does not let go of the guillotine once you are in side control?
+Top Kid I always practice this move with the assumption that the guy does not let go. You simply add a neck frame and arm bar.
Ziv Karmi Sal B Thanks for the advice. Usually when I do this, the more inexperienced opponents just hold on to my neck, but it has worked for them in the past as I have been unable to do anything for minutes at a time! I usually try and switch to north south but my opponent always moves his body in the same direction as I move mine. The von flue choke is a great idea though, I need to practice that in the gym
Top Kid Good luck! I plan to show the Von Flue next time I get to work with our white belts, so they understand why you don't hold onto that headlock.
Is this the dude that got killed in Dune?
yup
But what if your oponent have really strong grip ? everyone know that guy who can grip you like bulldog and never let u go away
You can perform a von flue choke
Nice technique but i prefer gouging the eyes with the opposite hand, and repeatedly kneeing/punching him to the balls (maybe even rip the sac out if the case warrants). If i can get in close enough, i also sink my teeth into the his flesh. Look the guy is going to kill you anyway, you got to show him you are ready to cannibalize him. If you are going to die from the choke if you get sick from biting him it really doesn't matter since you were going to die anyway. Only bite when nothing else is working though (eye gouging/fish hooking/low blows etc.)
I love listening to people describe "what they would do" when they don't know jack shit.
Joshua Langer why was it be Bruce Lee said the same thing
🙂👍
just strike the groin. no??
ye but it some cases they might still have the grip and choke you out
Well so strike harder. and rember that you have the second hand to secure the choke. If we continue with your logic then a take down won't either help you to get out of it if they still have a grip :)@@twitchhighlights4204
Both ways are okay but one more simple@@twitchhighlights4204
@@kravmagaidftraining7428 But in krav maga there is a specific technique to get out of a headlock
he has no leverage from side control. You will be fine. Just punch him in the face, he has nothing.
Is this the mf from dune
Doesn't matter, they didn't teach that here, if a person followed this bullshit, you're fucked.
The rule is, if they don't teach it, it doesn't exist, because most people only do what they learned from that one teacher.
