Great news Graham glad to see you up and about and working on the layout. As I have said before, and it echos everyone I have contact with, its OUR layout, its what WE are happy with and that's an end of it. Yes I like to ask for advice but doesn't mean I need to follow it. As a relative new comer I was concerned that I couldn't do a "proper" layout but was so glad to hear its our choice what we do. At the end of the day they don't pay for the layout! That 3 way point looks complicated but an interesting solution. How is it controlled? I am really pleased to see you have a turntable in as I want to put one in on my layout at some point so may be bugging you for advice if thats ok. The overall look of the heritage yard is brilliant - so much going on! Hope I can achieve the same effect. Regards Steve
HI Graham so glad the operation went ok and your back in the groove as such, the shed area I am sure will be as great as the rest of your layout which is excellent, keep up the super videos Kind regards Baz
Number 1: So glad your eye is on the mend! 2: Another very interesting video! 3: Rule one applies! Whatever you do will be up to your usual very high standard.... Keep it going Graham...
Looks fabulous to me Graham, great work. I'm with you with the eye pain as I have injections into my left eye for diabetes control, not fun, but all for the best. Great video take care.
So pleased to hear your operation was successful and that you are beginning to feel the benefits of what was done.Must admit your description of the first injection made me wince, especially as you said you hit the roof! The plans you have for the engine shed area sound very interesting and,as always,I admire the amount of thought that goes into your layout and that's why in my humble opinion it is a delight to view.Looking forward to seeing the development of this area in future videos.
Glad to hear your procedure was a success, hope you soon get back “on track” please excuse the pun. I really enjoy watching your videos, keep up the great work. 👍👍
Great to see you back working on the layout Graham the 3 way point is a good idea and with the basebord extension it will look really good. Take care and rest my friend.
Glad the op went well Graham and good to see you firing on all cylinders again. You didn't want to use the P word but used the TS label.😱 You could never call your tremendous layout a TS. Good luck with the woodwork 😊 Brian
Good to see you back Graham glad you're operation went well the turn table and shed area will look really good when finished looking forward to seeing it when it's finished
Glad to hear that the eye procedure was successful and you are on the mend! The turntable area looks grand and should work nicely. Obviously, some adjustments will come as you set it all in place, but the design and your knowledge will make it flow! Grand to see!
First of all excellent to hear the operation went well and what better way for it to come to an end than being able to get back to some modelling projects, some excellent work on that shed area Graham, keep up the great work.
That's great that you are over your operation. God bless you Graham and your eye. The sheds look well. Good luck with the work. Look after yourself. Basil.
I am very pleased your eye operation was successful and that the Heritage Yard, can progress. Putting a brew on with eggs and bacon will be an ideal and hearty breakfast for the workers. No doubt during the warmer months in the holidays, people will be able to come down to Lakeside from London, on the train, and enjoy traveling on a heritage train.
Beautiful layout Graham! Just discovered your channel - going to need to look at more of your videos as soon as I can (when I take a break from working on my layout).
Thank you my friend, that’s very kind of you to say and yes, please feel free to browse the other videos and good luck in building you layout too! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Brilliant news Graham about your operation glad it all went well. As you rightly say it's your layout and things go where you want and suits you, at least you listen to comments, keep up the good work and videos
Well done getting through the procedure and looking yourself again … you could see the frustration and pain you were feeling … enjoy getting back to the builds on Lakeside and the car 👍🏽💪🏾
Hi Graham Great to see you back and glad to know that the eye op has gone off well despite the initial experience. 👍👍. The shed area looks excellent and looking forwad to the progress of your layout. Hope your recovery progress smoothly.
Small suggestion, if I may. The siding near the fuel tanks will give you a good excuse to run 45t tankers to fill them up. Also you can have an underground feed to the fuelling point covered by concrete squares which will double as a walking route wide enough for people to tow trollies of tools and equipment around.
Really glad to know that it all went well, despite the 'discomfort'!!! Looking forward to continuing to follow your progress with Lakeside. All the very best.
Glad your eye surgery went well your yard is looking great like you said it's your layout so put it as you would like it not how everybody else wants it stay safe and look after that eye
Looks like a good plan to me, Graham! I'm in agreement with you, prototypical is less important than what makes you happy! While I'm going for more prototypical with my planned layout, there are still a lot of elements where I'm doing what makes me happy, rather than strictly what's true to life for the railway I'm basing my layout around. If I want tigers in tea plantations, I'm going to have tigers in tea plantations! If I want a monastery, I'm going to have a monastery - I'm trying to evoke an area of the world, not rebuild the real thing.
Glad to hear your operation was successful and I hope you recover completely very soon. A couple of scenic suggestions for you. 1) Park a couple of heavily weathered tank wagons on the line next to the oil storage tanks. 2) Put a couple of train-spotters, looking into the yard, over the wall of the road bridge, near to the roundabout.
Hello Graham looks like you have sorted your steam heritage corner looks good when finished so glad you have your eye sorted and fixed take your time let your eye heal before going mad on layout. Take care mate. 🙂 😊
Hi Graham, long time since we spoke. Been catching up on your videos as im coming back to the hobby. Great to9 see the progress on the layout and that your surgery went well.
Hi Graham glad your op went well with your eye, also can you help me please i have brought Train tech smart screen i have got a Z21 i cannot figure out how to set it up proper? Neil
Glad to hear the eye surgery went well. Love the set up of engine sheds, tracks and turn table. When I was a lad of 5 years in age my classmates and I got to ride on the turn table at the Santa Fe Railroad engine shed area in Bakersfield, Ca. I don't think there is any one way to do a engine shed layout. If you like it and it works thats all that matters. Rule 1. Bill from California
Nice Graham. Looking forward to seeing it develop. Glad your eye is on the mend despite the horrible injections you had to endure. Defo don't worry whether it looks right. I am making a TMD just because. I have no idea if it everything is correct other than looking at the odd photo from Google. Effectively I am just winging it and I don't care. As long as it makes me happy. All that matters. Same for you with yours. Tim
Glad to see you back so soon and in good health. My wife had the opposite experience with a small hand operation a couple of years ago. Expected to be in and out, next thing you know the hospital gown is getting produced, and she was in all day!
Good news on the operation Graham, onwards and upwards now. Like your plans for the yard, the 3 way point next to the turntable will allow you to bring in fuel wagons to top up the fuel tanks. The coal point, water crane and ash pit all on the steamer feed line to the steamer shed is a great idea. Yes, it is your layout and you do it your way and forget about the rivet counters and the P word. Clive.
Good afternoon Graham first great to see you on the mend. As long as you are happy then it's right. Now on top of the canal I'm hooked on watching the heitage yard not that I wasn't hooked😅 before well my friend chat soon. Stephen
Ouch! Must’ve been bloody terrifying mr foulston , I hope your feeling better I think I’d have run off and I ain’t scared of needles I’m covered in tattoos , I thought they’d knocked you out …. Bravely done me auld mucker..❤️
Glad to hear the op went well! They should have given you some laughing gas first. When I broke my wrist in 2017 they did that before the pain killing injection which my partner told me looked horrendous with a huge horse syringe full of the stuff! I felt nothing neither the injection nor the doctor resetting the wrist! Funny that you have a heritage railway steam depot. I have one on my layout as well. Its going to be great! I fully agree with you about "prototypical" layouts. If someone wants to be accurate thats fine but I prefer to do what I want whether its realistic or not especially when deciding what trains to run.
It looks OK to me Graham and who cares about the P word. If it works for you then that's all that matters, with you all the way on that. Great news with your eye and I'm sure you'll be 100% I no time cheers Andy

Great layout Graham love watching the trains run and glad to see everything went well with the operation 🏴
Love seeing the progress, but more happy to hear your eye op had a good outcome - despite the initial spearing with an evil needle.

Sono contentissimo che tutto sia andato bene,,, pronta guarigione e vista come prima
Glad all is well, home brew is always the best option and you can't beat MK1 eye to deal with the details lol.
Hi Graham I know how it feels to have eye injections. I have them every 2 months. Not painful but not pleasant.
Well done NHS, glad it's sorted, layout looking good
Glad your on the mend Graham

With the second line into the turntable you can turn guest locos and park the support carriage so the engine is in front of carriage.
Yeah , Grahams back
Very good.
It looks OK to me Graham and who cares about the P word. If it works for you then that's all that matters, with you all the way on that. Great news with your eye and I'm sure you'll be 100% I no time cheers Andy
