1500HP is a pretty standard power level for a modern main battle tank...
1300HP for a sedan...
The suspension is really next level. It replaces springs and hydraulic dampers with linear electric motors. This not only allows for independent wheel control, but also energy recouperation from movement in the suspension. Mercedes, in comparison, is using a more traditional pneumatic suspension system.
Regarding turning circle, the front rack is mechanically connected but they rear is drive by wire, like most four wheel steering cars. It lets the rear wheels turn up to 20 degrees (compared to a max of 10 degrees in the Cybertruck). This is in addition to the tank turn capability (seen on stage in the video). Also, Infinity had drive by wire over a decade ago on the Q50. The only significant thing that Tesla did with their ZF-supplied system was eliminate the mechanical backup, replacing it with redundant electrical motor.
Also, official pricing has not been announced. It is anticipated to be in the 1 MM RMB price range ($136k RMB), but we do not know the price yet.
Mercedes, in comparison, is using a more "traditional pneumatic suspension system", lol you mean old technology that's been around for donkey's years.
@@monipenny408 I wouldn't be that dismissive. Mercedes still has a computer-controlled active suspension that is more advanced than 99.9% of what is on the road today, including every Tesla. The U9 supercar also uses a pneumatic active suspension. But the U7 using linear motors is something that has been speculated about with a few prototypes being built (including by Bose) but has never been brought to market before.
YangWang means “looking forward to a bright future”. Has anybody complained about these non western names Toyota, Nissan, Honda or Hyundai? Besides, western market blocks BYD with heavy tariff no matter how it’s named.
Yes, they have complained,a lot.😮
Because China makes trash and steals tech from everyone else.
In Australia we don't block Chinese cars with tarifs, Sam is just a dick when it comes to names he has zero chance of understanding.
I guess size does matter, that's why they called it that.
I drove a moving truck yesterday. I had to do a u turn. The turning circle was smaller than my SUV. Damn I was impressed.
I got to ride in the U8 last week 1100000 rmb. Beast. I also got to watch it eat bitumen as it did a tank turn. It was literally tearing up the road surface
YangWang U8 has steering by wire as well.
Remember when Gm came out with the Nova and found out No va means doesn't go in Spanish?
When Microsoft acquired Nokia's mobile phone business and released devices under the Lumia brand, it was noted that "Lumia" in Spanish slang can mean "prostitute" in some regions.
Won't go.
Totally irrelevant to this video.
And Audi released the etron which is 💩 in French. Mitsubishi had their 4wd Pajero which they thought emphasised its pulling power only to find it was synonymous with masturbation in the Spanish speaking countries.😮😅😂
I took a tesla model y for a test drive and the turning radius of that caught me off guard. When i got back i looked it up and it was over 12 metres. Just ridiculous. They need to work on reducing that.
Bragging rights. Your Model S is smaller than my Yangwang....🤣 Maybe the S stand for "small".
Perfect for Trump’s small hands.
This is really more of a Mercedes S-Class/EQS rival. At 5265 mm long, it splits the difference between the regular and long wheelbase S-Class and is a bit larger than an EQS. More tech and luxury and over a foot longer than a Model S.
@@Michael-yi4mc...and small a-brain.
Also lol @ the tow cable not hidden very well on the ski slope shots
Hmmm... yeah, but we can see that line behind the car as well, so is it really a tow cable? I'm not sure. It definitely looks too good to be true.
@@donmccomb I was about to say I don't see it behind the car at all but then I did in one shot, near the top of the hill where it's about to flatten out. Maybe they stopped pulling there and the car kept driving forward leaving a loop of the tow line behind it
It is not a tow cable. Search the official full video, it is explained.
The official video shows a close-up of the cable, probably to prevent it from deviating left or right.
Sometimes, I pick up my bicycle to point it in a different direction
Absolutely mind blowing...
My previous 2014 S class optioned (its was a $13kAUD) option with 4WS had the Turing circle of a 2014 corolla but in saying that to activate it was annoying as you had to go through a whole bunch of menus to turn it on for one go. This is actually next level that Turing circle for the BYD U7 is amazing.
If pickups cant get into some parking spots, they should make parking spaces even smaller to make sure they cant fit in any.

byd is in no need to care what english speakers think of its yangwang brand as a name. it works well in chinese, and the rest of the world will be fine with it, too.
The Mercedes G-Wagon can also turn on the spot (by counter rotation).
A special version of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a 90 degree wheels to make also extreme turning and slide maneuvers.
The suspension is really next level. It replaces springs and hydraulic dampers with linear electric motors. This not only allows for independent wheel control, but also energy recuperation from movement in the suspension. Mercedes, in comparison, is using a more traditional pneumatic suspension system.
So,where can i buy these two cars?
Canoo had full drive-by-wire on the road before Cybertruck.
This is the BYD King Seal
London taxis had the smallest turning circle have you checked it ?
I nooticed that the Yangwang tank turn leave significant treadmmarks and it wears down the tire so it's not something one should do every day. Dont get me wrong, i think It's amazing tech but its less practical for normal use
Tank turn achieves 0 turning radius. The 4.x meter turning radius is achieved by rear wheel steering (RWS) with much larger turning angle in the rear wheels than other RWS cars on the market. Using RWS doesn't cause significant tire wear like the tank turn.
They really need to rename the Yang Wang at least for Western markets... or maybe it doesn't matter if tariffs are going to be a permanent problem.
It doesn’t matter as long as the product is good enough, like the Chinese are living with many western brands for decades.
Finally a car that ticks all my boxes…..but one. It has to be under $25k….still waiting….
It seems to be able to stop the inside wheel and spin the outside wheel…..ie steer like a tacked vehicle like a tank.
138k is definitely worth it with 1300+ hp and all the tech
Teslapumper has had his tiny mind blown.... again.
Doesn't Lexus have steer by wire ???
Yes they do but they are still having alignment problems, the steering wheel is not matching the position of the wheels
@@paulc6766 BS
The ladies would love to go Hawk Tuah on the lucky guys with a big powerful electric YangWang😂
Yeah prepare a new set of tyres ready to go.
So you think Yangwang is bad? There used to be a Chinese restaurant in Berkeley, California, called King Dong (...pause while this registers...). I'm pretty sure they didn't consult anyone in advertising or public relation. And, no, I never ate there.
tire manufacturers really love this function
I am sure they love the tank turn, which this car also has (as seen on stage). The 4.85 m turning circle uses 4 wheel steering.
The consumers love it
no, this function doesn't destroy tire
Looks like they reverse the inside rear wheel.
Compare to european and u.s. car tech and prices the chinese are greater in tech and much cheaper than those big brand .
What is the length of your yang wang?
That type of steering destroys your tires
So, how long is BYD's Wang again?
Toyota IQ has a turning radius of 3.9 metres. I suspect a Smart city car may have smaller still.
Radius; not turning circle.
I find no problem with the name yangwang. People make fun of xiaomi and huawei back then as well and now look at the present day, people said the name like as if it's a normal english word
nothing new, the west is always laughing at stuff they don't really understand.
Hubris and arrogance are terrible diseases.
That's gonna chew tyres so fast
Toyota actually has the tech to turn on the spot - check out the new Landcruiser
The suspension is really next level. It replaces springs and hydraulic dampers with linear electric motors. This not only allows for independent wheel control, but also energy recuperation from movement in the suspension.
It's pronounced more like young-wong though, it's not so bad if you get the pronunciation right.
Or just get the dealership to rename it Da Wang.
Terrible idea, I'm not scrubbing my tires like that
Isn’t this, essentially, the Rivian “tank turn”?
The 4.85 m turning circle is due to the 20 degrees of rear steering angle in the 4 wheel steering system (Panamera has 2.8 degrees, Mercedes and Cybertruck 10 degrees). The tank turn capability is in addition to that.
If it sells in US will it be called the Yankwang.
Yang Wang towards the West
XPung Mona will give it to Yang's Wang.
Audi demonstrated the ski jump stunt back in 1986. Back then with an Audi 100 quattro.

Was it mass produced, and how many were sold till today?
@@deepseer Don't know, please google it yourself.
And You believe those Tires would Last on the roads 🤔...
The video shows the tank turn capability which it can do, but the 4.8 m turning circle cited is using the 4 wheel steering, with twice the rear steering angle of its nearest competitor.
2.9s for 0-100 is not slow, unless u are a f1 driver. Anything lower than 4s is dangerous for 99% of drivers.
For that price, it is slow.
lots of cars hawe 4 wheel stering, dont need steer by wire for that? Byd is skid steering, hard to tire and motor, transmission.
The Yang Wang U7 has both. The 4.85m turing circle mentioned here is from the four wheel steering.
Great way to wear out the tyres real quick
Tank turn on a sedan?
Uh, hum; tire ware. Let's not have EV's put out more tire particles.
BYD
young won
Mmmm good until you prematurely wear out your tyres on the tarmac, PS it’s a gimmick
Imagine telling people that your wang goes 800 km?
Lexus also has steer by wire: ua-cam.com/video/agMrewRJTow/v-deo.htmlsi=ICdUDMzltkTevDk1
yangwang in chinese is to look far away....
Yang wang is short. doh
I believe this BYD car is irrelevant. As for turning radius I would not be surprised if actuators developed for the Tesla Bot may not start showing up in Tesla vehicles enabling all sorts of innovative maneuvering capabilities. Tesla will ramp up the production of such actuators which will decrease their unit cost enough to make them economical for use in vehicular applications as well as bots. Just a guess...
Do you actually review cars or you seat and make noise about them
You should m nation NIO ET9: better suspension, better style and same turning system … ah but you are a NIO hater 😅
Young Want😂😂😂😂
Not yen wan😅😅
Silly😂😂😂
