- Ukraine’s President Zelensky has warned the country is running out of air defences, as it faces another wave of Russian strikes.
On Thursday, a major power plant near Kiyv was completely destroyed, after being targeted by multiple missiles.
Staff on shift at the Trypillya plant were able to run for cover and escape, but the plant - which was the largest electricity provider for three regions, including Kyiv - has been put out of use.
More than 80 missiles and drones targeted sites across Ukraine in the early hours of Thursday. Many targeted energy infrastructure and almost a third made it through Ukraine's air defences.

Yesterday Ukraine was blowing oil refineries, that was not an issue, so why is the bombing of power stations an issue?
Because refineries are legitimate military target, while hitting power plants affects mainly civilians, deprives them of electricity and drinking water... seriously it's not that hard to figure out the difference.

Unfortunately, no refinery remained in Ukraine to strike. So Russia targeted industrial production by cutting the electricity. Given the previous year's attack, they had a good opportunity to study and map all of Ukraine's power grid and now know which are the critical ones exactly.
Meanwhile, yesterday an Antonov landed in Niger with dozens of Russia military trainers and a brand new S-300 air defense complex. No more exploitation of the country by the French and the US. 😂 Ukraine has not enough of everything, while Russia has so much they can throttle AFU and expand their political influence on the other side of the world at the same time.

They were left with no options besides taking them back in rear where they will be out of range then the Russians will rain their glide bombs freely. Ukraine has long lost this war. Those are indeed launched from the Caspian and Black seas, outside of anti-air range, hence only missiles themselves can be intercepted. Planes carrying FABs, however, are flown to launch sites located much closer to the frontline, and several Su’s got downed by Patriots previously, decreasing frequency of FAB attacks significantly.

@@michael-muller Uh no, now you're skipping a lot of context. First you need to look at what happened in 2014, and Russia's constitution. Then you have to look at Putin's propaganda, repeatedly claiming to reclaim "Greater Rossia", which is what they like to use when referring to the Soviet Union. Then look at what they in Russia think of the way the Cold War ended, and what they think of Gorbachev. And then you can look at how Russia defines "Nazis", and why they like to use it as an umbrella term for anyone going against the "Russian ideal" (it has to do with the Red Army in ww2, and how it has been used as propaganda over there ever since).
The reason Russia advanced so suddenly and why it never seemed ideal for them to do so, considering the cost of doing so and how they weren't really prepared, is because NATO provoked them. It's the exact same scenario as the Cuban missile crisis, except it's NATO that wanted to plant some in Ukraine. But Russia has never accepted the end of the Cold War, and has always strived for reclaiming Eastern Europe again, so they would more than likely have done so eventually either way.

Patriot and camm missiles, two of the air defence systems that have been deployed their, camm is used in the British army’s sky sabre, they have only recently been sent there so would have provided the missiles they where running out of, but still might be not enough.
Every time nato hesitates, it ends up costing more than it needed to, if we had just sent troops into Ukraine before it started, Russia wouldn’t dare cross that border, because either by nuclear or conventional war, Russia loses to NATO.

It's a proxy war. You shouldn't read too much into it. When push comes to shove, if they'd clash directly and either side starts using WMD, then there would be no winner and we'd all be goners all around the world. It's why proxy wars matters, and why world powers holds back in proxy wars. It's to not tilt the equilibrium too far to one side but at the same time achieving the bare minimum of whatever purpose a world power would participate in a proxy war.
