As soon as I heard it, I knew what you had fired up. This is same propulsion system as Germany used for their buzz bombs. A pulse combustion engine. I worked for a company that manufactured a product based on this principle. It was studied by a Canadian scientist, Kitchener, during WWII. Kitchener realized that this system produced amazing amounts of heat, and designed boilers based on the principle. They were manufactured by Hydrotherm Corporation in NJ, a division of Penn Central.
That looks like a load of fun but I’d be shitting myself having the gas next to the exhaust due to it looking like it’s hotter than the sun lol great vid
I'm guessing the camera sensor is blowing out the highlights. If it were accurate, according to the kelvin color temperature chart, that would be 5000-6000 degrees celsius (which it can't be because what metal can withstand that heat, right?). So I'm guessing we'd need a camera sensor with more dynamic range to guess the temp - or does anyone know the temp those things get up to?
The camera can lie a bit but the metal color seemed like it was close to the melting point of steel. Its probably the camera lying a bit, but I'd be very worried about getting the thing just explode on my back. But he probably knows better. Yeah It seems its after sunset so the colors seem much more bright than they actually are.

I've followed this guy since I was a teenager, glad to see that he's still messing around with pulse jets.
Right totally forgot about this dude. Sweet footage!
Since you were a teen? Bet it's been a long time old man

I’m genuinely impressed with how efficient your pulse jet’s ignition system works

I'm not an engineer of any kind, but I was also really surprised at that. I know valveless pulsejets can be a bit tricky to get right, and I'd imagine he has years of trial and error behind that. It also looked like he had a valved pulsejet cart on the back of his truck, so he's definitely been working on some fun projects. Oh, and he probably has hearing loss. Prally worth it tho
Those pipes in back look extremely hot and I would worry if I were you.

that instant start is amazing. I've seen so many people struggling to get the pulsejet started, that I was thinking it'd take 10 minutes to get all 3 jets lit.
How in heck does instant start pulsejet work?
@@erlend1554 it doesn't need airflow as it's an acoustic pulse jet.
Once it starts and as long as there is fuel it's just going to run.

It's so inspirational to see someone not giving a shit about age and just enjoying life. I'm approaching 40 and still full of curiosity and mischief 🤣 I love seeing people like him to remind me life can always be fun if you allow it
As soon as I heard it, I knew what you had fired up.
I just realized the military's "chinese mortar" field water heaters are very VERY loosely based on this design! 🤣
Same here. The distinctive "growl" it makes left no doubt in my mind what he'd just lit off.
How fast You figure that can go?
The world needs more people like you sir. Amazing thanks for sharing!

That looks like a load of fun but I’d be shitting myself having the gas next to the exhaust due to it looking like it’s hotter than the sun lol great vid
I'd prefer to see some sort of heat shield between them!
Ah that heat make propane put out better
My thoughts exactly 🤣
Oh my God!! Somebody get this man a camera mount, he's full well entitled to it for this cart! I love it!!
