Do yoyrself a favour and watch the pilot and there are two moments that got me hooked. At 16:40 Deacon (Charles Esten) @charlesesten is singing, playing guitar on 'Back Home' in a music circle at the legenday Bluebird Cafe surrounded no doubt by some of Nashville's finest musicians. And later at 37:40 the song that knocked me over was when Gunnar (Sam Palladio)@sampalladio and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) @clarembee, during her shift as a server at the Bluebird, get to the stage and sing, a poem she wrote, 'If I Didn't Know Better' . I just wathced it again, twice.... still gets me. Hard. My god those voices are magic together. Those two songs in theis pilot show the real soul of the show that I wish were more prominent during the series. The cast that were just on tour are the true artists of Nashville and need to be seen live on stage. #nashvillereuniontour
Me too. Turned me on, not away from the show and I'm very picky with all the news shows out today. The music from the show brings the whole show together whether you're a fan of the show or not. The music is really worth listening to whether a clip or the soundtrack itself. Love it!
I think the main reason I have and always will have hope for a Gunnar&Scarlett reunion is because Watty compared them to Deacon&Rayna and we all know Deacon&Rayna end up together because they are the "it" couple of the show. Just like with Deacon&Rayna, Scarlett&Gunnar have undeniable chemistry that not only shows when they're romantically together but especially when it comes to the music, this performance was the beginning of an amazing (TV) couple.
Summer Raine Well said. In fact, I can see Scarlett being happy with other people, just like I do with Rayna, but when I first heard Scarlett and Gunnar perform together, the chemistry was just too much to handle, you just knew they were "it". It's all fire and flame: intense, passionate, but can burn you badly.
You are so right. I would love to see Gunnar and Scarlett together again. Scarlett is one of the most unique and beautiful people.....at least in the part she plays. I know I would probably kill for her hair. (Little jealous here...lol).
Such a shame that plot had to get in the way of the best thing on this show. Songs like this one and Fade Into You are the reasons I got hooked.. They are Musical magic together but the head writers want drama more than they want great music. Oh well... very sad.
Best vocals ive heard in long time, i can't stop listening to this song since I saw the pilot. I think Sam and Clare are the true stars of the show. I'm already hooked to Nashville !!!!!!
Really missing Clare Bowen singing so far this 3rd season. I just purchased her new song Santa Baby from the new Nashville Christmas album and she sings it in that beautiful unique Clare Bowen style.
what a duet by Clare & Sam! takes me back to series one. It's a shame that Sam had to move to America to have his talent recognised, thank you Nashville!
What makes this even better; the way they look at each other. They are either great actors or something is going on between the two of them. "Civil Wars version is awesome, but as someone said these two kids knocked it out of the park
I agree it has opened the door for a new group to country (Lilianna). I love this song and I'm a R&B,HipHop, Classic Rock and Smooth Jazz kind of Girl.
This song sends chills up and down my spine. I love their chemistry and harmony and the song in general. The high notes are wonderful and these two do make this song a very private moment. I love it!
Best, first song I heard on the show, in a long time, by Clare that gave me chills. Wicked song, clearly shown of characters and their dark secrets, skeletons in closets, a great opening to the show. Also, love the mysterious dark feel, vibe! Does anyone consider this more Blues song or Pop/Rock? I think it sounds more like a Blues song. The live one is just as good, and proves Clare has natural talent and not just the dubbed remixed stuff out today. One of my absolute favorites since the start of the show.
Once in awhile along comes one of those songs that makes your skin crawl with excitement and anticipation. Well this duet by Clare and Sam singing If I Didn't know Better is just one of those songs. Sam and Clare, Thank You! Also listen up there you voice teachers. Everyone is gonna want to have that sultry southern perfumed voice of Ms. Clare Bowen.
I totally agree with you. I have never been a fan of country but the show is starting to make a fan out of me. I love the two of them singing together.
Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio are so special together; their voices blend in a magical way! They are the reason I watch "Nashville". I really hope the writers give their characters more time, keep them together, and don't turn the show into just another soap opera. In any case, I would buy a CD of just Clare & Sam singing. B:)
Great song, haunting Melody, and they sing fantastic together..Love the show and they're ratings would shoot up more if they put these two back together..and have them sing together, HOT!
This was one of the best songs written for and performed on the show. It was just the most sensuous connected rendition. Great chemistry between the actors/singers. What a gift?
This forever will be my favorite Nashville song
Robert Rodriguez mee too

This was the song that everyone just Knew. There was no way I could turn my back back on this show after this song.

I love the fact that Gunnar can be crazy sexy when he sings low and sounds beautiful when he sings high in the end
Theres a certain irony in that the best country singer on the whole show is from Australia, gotta love it!
Right
And a Brit singing with her.. don’t leave our Sam out 🤣🤣
These 2 are so amazing together!!! I want more Scarlett and Gunner songs in the next season, PLEASE!!!

The best song from Nashville
Such a shame that plot had to get in the way of the best thing on this show. Songs like this one and Fade Into You are the reasons I got hooked.. They are Musical magic together but the head writers want drama more than they want great music. Oh well... very sad.

Really missing Clare Bowen singing so far this 3rd season.
I just purchased her new song Santa Baby from the new Nashville Christmas album and she sings it in that beautiful unique Clare Bowen style.
My favourite song in this show... and that is a tall order in a show with good music. There is something so sensual of their voices.
what a duet by Clare & Sam! takes me back to series one. It's a shame that Sam had to move to America to have his talent recognised, thank you Nashville!

Cant wait to see more from this couple in the show! They are definitely better than the two main characters
What makes this even better; the way they look at each other. They are either great actors or something is going on between the two of them.
"Civil Wars version is awesome, but as someone said these two kids knocked it out of the park

Katie Heinecke That can be complicated. It's a cover of The Civil Wars, and they are like a folk rock/blues band. I like both versions of the song.

I totally agree with you. I have never been a fan of country but the show is starting to make a fan out of me. I love the two of them singing together.
Then you don't know country music very well, because this is the essence of genuine country music.
For an Australian and an Englishman to master an American accent is no easy feat.. on top of their incredible chemistry on set.

Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio are so special together; their voices blend in a magical way! They are the reason I watch "Nashville".
