    People seem to think that "being forgiven" is the same as "getting what you want".
    I *do* want Kanye's mental health to improve and I want him to leave these horrible ideas behind. But there's no part of either of those results that requires him to be famous. People will say "He said these things because he's unwell mentally". If that's true I guess I hope he gets better, but the unspoken half of that argument is "and therefore you should keep buying his music". Nah.
    Also, I have my doubts, because Kanye said some kinda iffy things about Jewish people back in 2013, so I can't really believe he's only doing it now because he's mentally unstable, seems more like he believes it.

      The idea that Kanye was mentally unwell back in 2013 makes sense too. It's not like he got frontal lobe damage and all of a sudden became a raging prick. He's been a f'n loon from the get, but people ignored it because his music was very popular.

    • @yunguboa
      @yunguboa 2 місяці тому +7

      @@Erichwanhtbf the points he was making in 2013 actually did make sense though. there was a barrier in the fashion industry for black creatives and he was in a shitty deal with nike.
      that being said, what kanye says now isn't correct and only normalizes bigotry.

    People using mental illness as an excuse for bigotry is a wild stretch

    This makes me wonder when the verse was recorded more than anything else - it's been nearly 5 years since CrasH Talk and Q's been saying in his interviews that he had the album pretty set in stone since ~2022, and I'm pretty sure he said he wrote Blue Slides in 2021. I have a hunch that this was was recorded pre-Yedolf and that's why they cut his name.

    Even if it was mental illness making him him a bigot, that would still mean he needs to be done as a celebrity musician until he gets his head sorted. So the excuse/defense is still a good reason for him to stop making music and being given attention as someone worth listening to.

    Did you watch the Vultures interview dude. Because He was more able to explain his thought process. This is both t the sentiment of the record, and what he thinks intertwined.
    Why can't he go independent, well
    Since 2009 when he called out the music industry during Taylor Swift, his shit controlled by Def Jam and Universal was pushed back, turned down. Every album he has done since dark fantasy has been mired in controversy. Kanye West is the face of his music. He also sat in those boardrooms, on how his music was going to be controlled, and distributed for 2 decades, and tried to get out of it. His outbursts are 0 of your fuckin concern, because if you cared about the artist or his music you would not keep calling him a nazi or Maga. What he is is conservative in a lot of his points. Even politically you don't have to agree with him, but when you refuse to even listen what he has to say. Dude he will call all of you Nazis over and over again. Is it edgy yes. Is it harmful to all of society. No we all got lives, and context, and can think about what he said on Vultures. Everybody got it. It's a fuck you with his fans supporting him independently. That's why you hate his methods but he engages, and delivers a number 1. In Burn he talks about the execs smoking sherm in him face, he was told by managers what happens if artists got their independent distribution. We have to kill him. So I would be going buck wild too. Adidas is stealing his designs, and wants to make knock offs of a show they didn't create. You can either support this artist or you can not. But when you trash him call him a nazi, because he trolls. Well then the record might be a little too much for you. Yes this Dance, Club, fuck record is so controversial, I don't want to devote any attention to it. You know most of the shit in vulture is shit talk, and jokes right? The same shit that made Kanye famous to begin with. Everybody is too chronically online for this conversation, but if you take a step back and realize Def Jam Universal Music is really about the 360 deals, and contracts where you get nothing. Anything from streaming goes back to him. Now this seems truly plausible, as with the recent Tik Tok pulling out of every universal label owned artist shows the music industry is dying. So the second one of the biggest artists pulls out of that damn right the media going in with controversial crazy nazi Kanye West has another scheme. The fans aren't true fans becaus it concept it works. It's up to Kanye actually delivering. He has to get better at meeting the people's supply and demand if he wants to be in this music game, because it's monetarily dead.

    • @danielwhitingjr2854

      Did you ever think he might Be saying a majority race, because he can't name the names for fear of assassination, or cancelation. As shitty as it is the music industry started in 1939 by a Jewish doctor Dr Julius Shwartz who worked with the mob. Over the years through payola, grooming their stars, taking out large life insurance policies in case the artist doesn't deliver ever heard of Bobby Fuller found dead from assumed smoke inhalation, when really was beaten to death, and left in his car. Over the course of music Nielson soundscans, jukeboxes and every way to determine music was fixed. Musicians couldn't make it organically as acts with pop appeal could sell more. So anyone who wanted to go independent Sam Cooke, Michael Jackson, Prince's were more a threat. Look at the Don't Oliver Atlantic record streaming disaster, or Roddy Rich not selling how much they wanted him to, so they got to rewrite the numbers and history. Vultures just broke all of that no Def Jam no Universal. Between his fans and them. That's the real scary thing not this nazi smokescreen. There is a video a UA-camr called Barely Sociable did called the Music Death Clause.
      ua-cam.com/video/Z_y_zeql7pc/v-deo.htmlsi=6dmyevX2n8HtINh3
      Yes it's even in the fuckin contract. It's insidious because there's a part of the video where even indie artist who thinks they can be free of labels still have to distribute, and that can be a way to control a person. It's hard to get out of that box is the point. For real I didn't even watch this video because we still talking about nazi shit.
      David Bowie used antisemitism as the Thin White Duke to show his cold humanity at post with one self in Station to Station.
      Kanye has had these concepts since love everybody back in 2018. You didn't think he wanted to explore some of those ideas. Vultures is the darker Donda, even in the interview he said he has a strained relationship with God. It's his darkest thoughts coming out. You deny the shadow self for too long, you go mentally unstable crazy. It comes out in outbursts. The man is total bipolarization of any thought he wants to address. Meaning every project will be good evil light and dark filthy, and faithful, bling status, with education, family, with pornography, and to act like this is something different is laughable. Paperwork, Fuck Sum, and Carnival, paired with keys to my life, talking back, and beg forgiveness. Overall I give it a 7/10

    Maybe I’ve just been listening to RC for a while but I totally understand him here lol.
    I question the idea that mental health issues can’t cause someone to hold bigoted views though. There have been real scientific studies about racist delusions as a symptom of mania. I don’t think we should dismiss that out of hand because it makes us uncomfortable. It seems like bending science and reality to what would make things easier for us, to make it simpler to judge people and separate “good people” from “bad people”.

    • @favvors
      @favvors 2 місяці тому

      The racist delusions never spawn out of mania tho, they’re usually something you feel and believe to some extent, the mania just helps you get them out and are also a “good cover” for when you get called out. Racism and bigotry are TAUGHT and LEARNED.

      Well yeah, Delusions can (and while I'm not an authority on it) probably most commonly do repeat or fixate. To my experience with various afflicted folks, they don't just randomly see dragons or whatever, they usually construct memories or fragments not unlike dreams.
      That said, the other half of the "he's unwell" argument, is well, an argument implying he's unwell, so you should write it off, or actively support him so he gets better. The first half has obvious issues, and if you believe that throwing money at him (directly, or indirectly by making reviews that do implicitly act as marketing) will help him, why him and not just donate straight to causes that support thousands of others.

    This is like if Charlie Sheen started talking about politics, you're not qualified nor does anyone care about your opinions on serious topics.
    Kanye is wrong and has mental problems, everyone sane knows that, you adding your personal ignorance and views add nothing.
    Last time I'll bring it up, if the analytics didn't warn you, I can't.
