- Video is circulating online showing tense moments between the Bayou Vista City Police Chief, an alderman and another man who says they were just trying to help feed the community after Hurricane Beryl knocked out power.

The Chief of Police was way out of line in his attitude and attack on the cameraman. There is no reason to lose your cool in that type of situation and his lack of professionalism both in his sloppy attire and his vehemently negative attitude speaks volumes about that man's lack of character.

Americans of a certain skin color have tried to tell others this about the police in this country for years, decades and no one would listen. Funny it's just over the last couple of years some are starting to realize the power trip that a lot of officers are on. The very basis of a community center is to act as a hub for general resources AND in times of dire need, a hub or extension of local and federal resources.

The reason is that in our modern society there's regulations to keep people safe and dispense liability. It's the reality of today. You can't just do anything without permits. It's not like old times. Ironically it's the community that fought for decades to bring in more regulation to make everything safer.
