Great review...answered all the questions I had about it. Will put my order in now. My Miller has served me well for last 7 years but these guys have changed the game now.
Hi, Thank you for this video. It's said that the Crystal 2.0 helmet, hasn't got an homogenous shade. So if you don't look in the center of the lens, the shade varies and causes inconvenience. Did you experience that with the Panoramaxx CLT? Than you for your answer.
Just bought one myself And so far I'm liking It. How close to your face do you set the lands under wearing it I Cal many centimeters Or millimeters do you think from your your eyes Or forehead
I bought the papr version of the panoramaxx clt in north america... they sent it with the isofit headgear so the face seal does not work at all. Apparently the us and canada send it with isofit whereas europe ships it with the proper headgear that works with the face seal. Already dissapointed with optrel after having spent about 3k and i cant use my papr day 1.
I’m real Interested in getting one of these. One question I have is, how does your respirator fit under the hood? Does it get in the way with the nose cut out?
No it doesn't get in the way because of the adjustments. It has front-to-back adjustment, and it also has up-and-down adjustments on the Iso-Fit gead hear. This will allow you to space the front of the hood so that it will not block or interfere with a 3M respirator. I use the 7075 and the 6503 and they fit perfectly.
Hey. I'm thinking about using one of those isofit in a simple fixed lens hood I love. My only concern it the "tilt stop" mechanism. I can't find any clear picture of that. Is it completely integrated in the headgear or does it have any part incorporated on the shell itself to stop the tilting??
@@zod-engineering-welding ok cool thanks for the quick reply! Is there any other helmet that you would recommend besides this one?im trying to narrow it down to two.
How reliable are the plastic grooves that click into the head frame? They seem like a big failure point if you have to always put tension to adjust the helm. Someone else said before the old usb charging input is pretty dated. I don't mind charging a battery but if they skimped on the charging then the battery too could be junk. Is it replaceable and what does it cost? $120?
So I've had this almost 6 months as my go-to helmet. Here are the only failure points I have found: 1. The front forehead padding will lost adhesion from the plastic. There are about 4 little (
I would say it's a great helmet, but if you are welding at very high amperages, you might want another helmet. This one and the Crystal 2.0 only goes up to Shade 12 so if you will be welding over 250-275A a lot, I think you'd need a helmet that can go to shade 13 or 14, but then again everyone's eyes are different. Aside from that, the image is just as good as the crystal 2.0, which is simply amazing.
Mine fell off a table and it’s completely broken. Beware literally prices of garbage that look nice. The first one came in broken as well. Both the same problem. The delay not working fast enough and flashing me.
Junked the iso stuff, too much clutter in the way of the switches esp with air fed liner. Fitted old optrel type. The mask though is something else - keep forgetting it's already down. Absolutly superb lid. Get one. Make sure it's the 2.0 and not the 2.5. The 2's seem to come in 2.5 boxes but the clue is on the cartridge.
My panoramaxx clt papr version was shipped "squished." The inner lense protector had gaps everywhere which would allow the ad lena to get damaged. Then i realized a micro chip near the nose piece 2 months later. Turned out that micro chip was the start of a crack and that my helmet was deformed which was why the inner protective lens would never sit tight. At firat i thought maybe it was a bent inner peotective lens. I looked back at my unboxing video and realized the crack was visible in the viseo from day one but never realized it. i sent optrel the time stamped video and an email regarding the deformed shell and they sent me a new papr helmet without having to send mine in so now i have spare parts. I love the lens in the pano clt, i hate the isofit headgear because it never sat well with a welsing hat ans respirstor on. I switched to their plane jane headgear. I found the isofit headgear also prevented you from adjusting the controls. I also think the isofit headgear prevented the papr from sealing around my forehead as it blocks the ability to seal to my head. The older headgewr dis not have that issue. If i could go back i would have bought the non papr version as im fabing in all different positions and the papr on your waist is a real pain in the ass. The battery also always dies 2 hours b4 the end of my 10 hr shift even with a full charge and filter. @@thh4584
Only major downfall in my humble opinion is that the Lens adjustment knobs are all inside the helmet and on top of the lens, like old school Welding hoods. I think I like the crystal better as far as comfort and Having the controls entirely on the outside is a Night and Day difference
Just received this helmet. The shell was cracked when I took it out of the box. Returned for refund. If it can't even survive intact till it comes out of the box, then something's seriously wrong! WAY too much money for something that delicate. It'd probably shatter like glass if dropped.
I had the 2.5 my battery fail after 1 month on it's first charge, got a full exchange and was given the CLT the lense cracked TIG welding aluminium. These panoramaxx look great but fragile junk.
Haha, yep! The Miller headgear fit me nicely which is why I like it. Sadly enough, I haven't even used my welding gear in over a year! I have to get back into it, but work is killer! So little free time. Thanks for the comment.
What a s**t show of a control setup. The knobs are made for children's fingers. Fire whoever thought the controls should be blocked by the headgear. Looks like you may have to pull the head gear to get the charging cable inserted and they couldn't afford a USB-C port? WTF??? I got excited when I saw this helmet come out. Not now! The Germans are laughing their a*s off at the Swiss right now.

i really appreciate you showing it fit with the respirator, i've been trying to find this info for a long time. cheers!
That's a seriously intricate headgear. Should fit most heads.
That grind mode indicator is brilliant.
Nice review Oscar.
Im definitely buying one thanks optrel been waiting for crystal lens on a panoramaxx
Yeah researched panoramaxx before buying the crystal about 6 months ago & now I'm thinking how I shoulda waited haha
Very thorough review. I have an earlier Optrel Vegaview 2.5 helmet. I like it a lot but this is a really nice upgrade.
Very thorough and intelligent review. I just placed my order for the same one in black.

I've heard the same. It's because 1/1/1/2.

I use the middle setting on the headgear. Any closer and it hits my prescription glasses/safety glasses.
@@gmaestro79 ok I was wondering cause I'm able to set it at the closest setting but half the time it will end up bumping my forehead/the iso headgear

What a great review. Good job man. Gonna get one
Update, this helmet is terrible and the headgear is even worse. Waste of money.
Interesting but is it comfortable?
SOLD!
Great looking helmet
Each time you put on or off the helmet of your head do you need to tightned or loose the
scroll wheel of the headgear?
every time it seems. used it today
What
How does it do for fogging up?

its in the shell
Is the tint of the lense green?the black version looks like it’s blue.
There is no tint. It is a true color lens. It's just a slightly darker version of reality.

Will the new headgear work with an optrel papr system?
I wish I knew....i don't have a PAPR system
i had the 2.5 3months later the battery died, sent me a replacment, the lense cracked while i was welding. Is the newer clt fragile?
So far, it has worked flawlessly for me, with regards to the actual AD filter.

You think optrel panoramaxx clt is the best helmet in the world? Now I use esab sentinel a50 and want to bye optrel panoramaxx clt 2.0.
