Great review! I’m a stickler for accuracy in a wristwatch so I was absolutely smitten with the 9F when I first discovered it. The day I saved up enough I went to the GS boutique and bought one. What an experience that was. There’s a quote circulating around “you buy a Rolex to impress others; you buy a Grand Seiko to impress yourself.” A lot of truth to that statement. 🙌 Also, I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks the beautiful (and regal) lion logo on the caseback belongs on the dial? I’d love to see it on a 9F30 edition in the next few years. GS has a powerhouse branding opportunity they can leverage. Rolex has the crown. Omega has the symbol. GS would have the lion.
This is the same first luxury quartz for me.. I was a Rolex guy and my grail watch was the Rolex perpetual. I would go to my favorite watch store A always try on the OP..Loved the quality and fit. On the OP couldn’t decide either the black dial or blue. Then one weekend as I was leaving spotted the Grand Seiko case. Could sight of this watch fell in love with the beautiful finishing both the face and bracelet. Asked the salesman if I could try it on, he laughed saying once you put it on I’ll lose the sale on the OP. Said no way..So I did, and he was right..pulled the trigger and this watch was mine (Black dial) with half my savings for the OP LEFT OVER. Call me crazy but three weeks later I went back and bought the blue dial. And still have cash left over. Love these watches and with a 50 year maintenance, can safely pass on to my 6 year old grandson when he graduates from High School..
I have been waiting for you to do a review on this watch. I have had the champagne dial version for 5 years and the accuracy gets better every year ( 2/3 seconds approx). The sheer quality of the finish is amazing (check the hands and hour markers up close). I am lucky enough to have a couple of very nice Swiss automatics but this is still my favourite watch as the quartz movement is amazing including the finish as they are hand assembled. Cheers for the video Dave uk
The watch looks absolutely perfect on your wrist. I am looking at getting this model. 37 to 39mm is the best diameter size for men’s watches whatever your wrist size. I have 7 inch wrists and I feel my 41mm watches are too big. Nice video. Thank you
Tnx for the video :) The bigger sibling to this is the SBGV223 and it´s 40mm, not 41mm as you mentioned ;) The bracelet on the sbgx is 19/18mm and 20/18 on the sbgv. There is a micro-flex in this bracelet that you did not mention. The middle link have 2 joints, giving it the micro-flex with extra movement :)
I'm torn between this one and the SBGX 263 (Champagne). They are my Holy Grail Watches. Come to think of it, I started in this insane hobby with an Orient Bambino because of your channel.
Check out the SBGX269. Its the same exact watch except full titanium (very light), gold indices and the dial has a textured diamond pattern thru out that is very subtle.
Great review Aron. I am not sure if you know but your 7548 has a built in trimmer where you could dial in your accuracy to similar numbers as this grand Seiko. It just shows how ahead of the game Seiko was and is when it comes to watch making. Keep up the great reviews.
I don’t own Rolex just because (do own a North Flag) and if ever I was going to buy one it would be an OP 36MM with the 3, 6 and 9. But to me this is nicer.
Nice'ish review, and I have given it a thumbs up, but no excuse for not knowing the lug width. A Grand Seiko deserves at least a minute or two of research...
Thanks Joseph!! I've owned a couple of the Bulova Precisionist movement over the years. Very well made watches, and the high frequency movements are ridiculously accurate. I've actually owned this watch before, and kind of miss it!! Congratulations on your purchase!!
Greatness on that piece . Now, if I could just figure out why a 37 looks good on you & a girlie Toy on me . Same size Wrist. To bad Marshall is close by could've lost that one in the Mail too ! 🤣🎃👍
🤣🤣 I completely understand. When i wear a 36-38mm watch i feel the same way!! They actually look good, but I've been wearing a SKX size watch since i was a kid. I just accepted i like 40-42mm regardless. Cheers buddy, great comment 😎🙏👍
It's a formal dress watch, not divers or field watch. Also Grand Seiko officially claims their extremely crisp and glittering polish on the hands, like well-cut brilliant diamonds, allows user to see the time even without lume applications at night.
Yes please. It’s still years away, but the most expensive watch I’m ever going to buy will be a Grand Seiko.
This would be a wonderful one to have!! Cheers buddy
Grand seiko is expensive and we'll respected nothing to be sorry of

The movement of the seconds hand looks really satisfying. It is so relaxed and calm and absolutely precise - it's kind of hypnotising.
It’s fantastic how the second hand hits the second markers!! Love truly the case shape, very Seiko-isk!! It hugs the wrist very well!🧡🖤💚💙
It's such a beautiful, detailed watch. Really makes you appreciate the time GS puts into each of these watches. Cheers Torben 😊🙏👊

Excellent story, and thank you for sharing. GS quality is very impressive, and these movements are bulletproof and super accurate. Cheers!!
good

It's an absolutely beautiful piece. And yes, the quartz movement itself is beautiful to behold. Your lucky to have one Dave😎👍 Cheers!

Nice video. Thank you
If i decide to have only one watch in my life for sure would be only this.Seiko and GS are the best.
That is the probably the best quartz watch ever.
Nice watch. Interesting choice for the background.

The Lion on the back should be Seiko’s Logo. This is the beauty and the beast.
I absolutely agree buddy 😊👍

😁😁👍👍 These GS are spectacular watches!! Thanks for tuning in Ben✌👊
Sold the sbgx261 and bought the used sbgx061 and i think it’s a perfect hidden gem
Why, please?
This watch is pure class. It doesnt bother me that it is quartz, the 9f is not a generic movement.
Absolutely spot on!! Really a spectacular watch 😎👍🙏
Just gorgeous. Nice vid Aron.
It really is beautiful. Thanks Bob😊👍👊
Just a beautiful watch. 👍👍👍

I was not aware!! Thank you 🙏🙏 Really appreciate that you tune in to the channel!
Great review Aron ! Looks great on you 😁
Thank you buddy. Thanks for letting me check it out 😎🙏👊
Aron Dunlap-OFD Watch Channel you’re welcome 😊 I’ve got more coming for you 😁

Fantastic watch! The bottom part looks empty tho. But maybe because I got used to my sarb033.
Just got one.... very nice indeed 👍
Nice'ish review, and I have given it a thumbs up, but no excuse for not knowing the lug width. A Grand Seiko deserves at least a minute or two of research...
hope my 9f GS was hitting second marks accurately as yours. Mine is off quite a bit from 50 to 05 sec marks.
Nice watch. I have a sacm 171 with 8j41. It gains about 6 to 7 seconds a year. I'd love to get a grand seiko with 9f. Perhaps, who knows.
How do you like it ? I have a 7 inch wrist I prefer and wear diver watches in 42mm
Great review but are you sure you have a 7" wrist,I have a 37mm Seiko and this looks a lot bigger than on your wrist👍
Awesome watch. Quick question-does this have quicker hour like the 9F GMT, or is it quickset date instead? Thanks
It has the quickset date.
@@martinchivers7341 awesome thanks
Does it scratch?
Great review. Well made watch.
Definitely!! Thanks so much 😎👍
Wonder what it would look like with a fluted bezel lol
I would get one for myself when i become a doctor...
nice watch... really like it cheers
Me too! Cheers Craig 🙏
beautiful
I want it
I know right!!!
Great videos my friend... What is your opinion on the Bulova 262 khz high caliber quartz movement..I just purchased the Bulove Lunar Pilot...
Thx.
Thanks Joseph!! I've owned a couple of the Bulova Precisionist movement over the years. Very well made watches, and the high frequency movements are ridiculously accurate. I've actually owned this watch before, and kind of miss it!! Congratulations on your purchase!!
@@OFD Thanks for getting back and thanks for your input. Yes. I love the watch. Keep up the good work....
After all these years following your channel, finally a GS. Does it made you have thoughts of selling your breitling for a GS. :D
Ohh my Breitling ain't going no where. A GS in collection some day?? Definitely 😎👍 Thanks so much for tuning in man 😊🙏
no lume?
No, no lume on these. Dress watches generally do not. Cheers 😎👍
You think it is 100 Meter please
The bracelet doesn't seem to match case. I notice this on most seiko watches. There is a gap at the end link. Cheers
Cheers Derek!😊👍
For some this might be cheap as chips. But for me its a grail watch ⌚
It's not inexpensive in the least, and a proper grail piece in my humble opinion. Cheers 😎👍

Which kind of Grand SEIKO is it ?
With the seconds needle jumping as a conventional quartz watch.
Seiko Quartz Technology.
Why no lume 😭
It's a formal dress watch, not divers or field watch. Also Grand Seiko officially claims their extremely crisp and glittering polish on the hands, like well-cut brilliant diamonds, allows user to see the time even without lume applications at night.
😍😍😍😍
I absolutely feel the same way 😊👍
I'm reporting you to YT for not stating your wrist circumference during the wrist shot.
4:10
I keep coming back to this. I have the same wrist size and it looks perfect on you. Are you on Instagram?
God you talk a lot, there's never a time when you're not talking, thumbs down
Thanks Karen
