Love the offense since the All Star break. It's overshadowed some of the less than stellar pitching.
Everyone is good other than Stroman and Kay
@jackphelan3219 Team as a whole has near 5 Era since all star break.
@@jackphelan3219 Stro, Smyly, Kay and Rucker have all been terrible. Hendricks and Merryweather have been below average. Taillon actually has been really good. The rest have been decent. But the hitting has been amazing.
The Cubs have had these guns loaded all season, so good to see them pulling the trigger

That exactly what I told my dad, if we somehow win 2 or 3 streaks of 7-8 games this last 54 games we could make this very interesting to end this season.

Incredible win by the cubs.... hopefully we ride this momentum forward to a playoff spot. I sure hope the stroman we seen the first half of the season comes back from the IL strong and ready to go again with his game on point, because we need him.

The pitching is what is going to stop the Cubs going deep into the post season, because the bats are certainly hot 🔥. It's fun to watch these guys hitting and Candelario has hit the ground running 👍.

If stroman can get back to what he’s been in his career (not even what he was to start the season) and taillon continues to play well then who knows what this team can do

This was the most thoroughly enjoyable game I've watched all season. I was laughing to the point of tears after those three straight errors by the Reds hahahaha!

Reds ending up with their backup catcher on the mound closing out a lopsided loss two nights in a row is classic! Wonder what his ERA is at this point.

We'll see, I'm not sure if the Reds have enough pitching. But when they lost 5 straight coming out of the ASB people said that the Reds were being exposed, then they recovered. And their starters had been doing pretty well until this series. But the Reds could lose 20 in a row and their record would still be better than what most fans would have expected by August.

Some of it is inflated by blowout wins where the game is decided with 2-3 innings to go.
But we have a major problem. All honest cub fans know what happens when a legit pitcher is on the mound.

Like we look great rite now but I’d compare this to watching Miami Dolphins lite up the scoreboard in early season vs a really bad defense who was literally just trying to get game over with.

@@MINNESOTA_PTSDI think you’re only partly right. This current lineup is better than what they’ve had and how they were using players up to now. Pitching is vulnerable when the ball is carrying like it was last night, but that’s obviously true for both sides. Come fall, Wrigley will play quite differently, with cold wins blowing in. Then, these contact pitchers backed by solid defenders will be able to limit scoring while our pass the baton lineup will be capable of manufacturing some runs. We’re better than you give us credit for NOW, after making many adjustments to how we started the season, and are pretty well positioned to make a run. Some cautious optimism is warranted. This may not be THE year for this core, but if they can retain Belli and Candelario, and with what’s coming from the farm, the future is bright.

the reds are probably one of the most overrated division leaders in the mlb right now , they have a -17 run differential which is 3rd worst in their division , meanwhile the cubs have a +77 run differential which is 5th best in the mlb , the cubs are a way better team than their record says.
