Man is it so sweet to be able to watch meaningful games at Wrigley again. The last few years have been rough but no matter how this season ends, I’m so happy to watch games that mean something again. WHAT. A. GAME.

Besides, this is Hoyer’s team, not Theo’s. I mean don’t get me wrong, the 2015/16 teams were exciting, but a lot more streaky. This club seems to sustain the approach and mentality of a veteran club, yet they’re mostly young. Very exciting!

Bryce did so bad today. That is the only reason the Cubs won. You are right about tomorrow though, Steele is amazing. I hope my Braves can dismantle him a bit but it's for sure gonna be tough.
@@wrmonahan30 Elder is hit or miss with his control…you can tell by the first 3 batters he faces if he’s going to be good or mark it up as a loss. A lot of people say he’s good but I cringe when he’s the starter.
@wrmonahan30 that's a bummer attitude assuming that's the only reason. Bats didn't swing themselves with those HRs. I thought Hendricks had his stuff and just got hit yesterday. Braves just hit well. It's ok to lose sometimes ;)
@@Dannygriz3443 its not a bummer attitude at all. If Bryce was on his game all of those runs wouldn't have happened. Just like Fried shut the cubs down yesterday, Bryce has the ability to do that as well, but he didn't. Unfortunately its Morton for us tomorrow so I am not confident about winning it either. Steele is an amazing pitcher and I beleive the Braves are gonna struggle with him. I only see the Braves pulling it off if they can breakthrough Steeles performance.

Ugh, as a Georgia boy, it crushes me to see my favorite player, Dansby Swanson, who's from Kennesaw, GA, hit an HR against his former team, our mighty Bravos. I wish him ALL the best in Chicago. GO BRAVES!!
It goes to show u how good Atlanta is not having dansby and still be on top. Go cubs will see u in the playoffs.

When Elder is pitching I can tell by the first three batters he’s facing if it’s going to be a good game or mark it up as a loss..when he comes out of the gate throwing balls and putting guys on base it’s a done deal..offense has to have a great day to compensate for Elder when he’s out of the zone.
So we all see this. The question then is.............Why do they leave him in to get bombed anyway?
Those walks and then homers were brutal. About as brutal as Eddie running the bases.
I've just recently tuned back into MLB. Somehow that guy was an all-star?? He must be in a serious slump starting the same day I started watching again.

Hey MLB, how did you manage to leave out the force play in the top of the fifth? Whether it was alert play by Bellinger in center or a baserunning gaffe by Acuna, the Braves wound up with one out and one on when the could have had two on and nobody out. Doesn't anyone pay attention to the games when assembling these highlight videos?

Well can’t win them all. Unfortunately it was a bad outing for bryce elder, if wright isn’t going to be able to return healthy then bryce will be majorly needed in the postseason and he needs to be consistently reliable. Hopefully he bounces back in his next start. Despite getting down 5-0 early the braves still showed some fight and made it a competitive game. It is nice to see ozzie and olson homer again. Charlie on the mound tomorrow looking for the series win but he has struggled last two starts, really need him to bounce back and have a good outing. Hopefully atlanta can bounce back and take the series tomorrow. #ForTheA

I don’t care how we won this game - we found a way and beat the best team in baseball. If we can get the series win tomorrow, we’ll really be feeling good about ourselves. Cubs historically have taken Sundays off from winning games. Time to change that pattern.
I’m a Braves fan and I think your Cubs will take the series….the White Sox and the Diamondbacks took their series in Atlanta..so they do have their weak moments. If you beat ‘em y’all deserve it. Wish Dansby Swanson the best…good guy.

Grew up in Atlanta but spent many years in Chicago....I always have mixed feelings about these matchups. Always bitter-sweet whoever wins.

Game 108: Tough start by Elder and tough game for the Braves. We can't win them all. We face a good pitcher in Justin Steele tomorrow so that will be a tougher game. Hopefully we can do better than we did today. Congrats Cubs on winning in the rain and congrats to Swanson on the home run against us haha

Snitker didn't do a good job coaching today. Should've seen how much Elder was struggling and take him out sooner. Elder should have also been able to make adjustments. Not sure if he was stubborn or just not having a good day.

I think something special is happening in Chicago again
After delivering a major shutout victory over the Cubs, the Atlanta Braves were eager for round two today, hoping to steal the series. But unfortunately, those plans were thwarted by the Cubs today in a 8-6 loss at Wrigley Field.
The second round began with a five-run blowout by the Cubs in the first inning, and the Braves weren’t expecting such a retaliatory response at the very start of this game. But for Chicago, this was an act of revenge from Friday’s shutout defeat. As the game moved on, Atlanta answered with two separate runs by the end of the third inning, trimming down Chicago’s lead to three.
The Cubs added two more separate runs of their own by the conclusion of the fifth inning to get a little bit more breathing room and build their lead back up to five. Atlanta wasn’t gonna go down that easily. They scored two more in the sixth, trying to keep pace with the Cubs. Perhaps Chicago can give the Braves more credit for their resilience and putting up more of a fight against them. But the Cubs were determined not to let the other team win, and they did so by putting up one last run in the seventh.
By the ninth inning, Atlanta still wasn’t finished and they delivered two more runs, but still hoping to add more to tie the game. But the Cubs pulled the plug on their plans to win the series, and the Braves ended round two in bitter defeat.
With the series now tied up, the third and final round will be the deciding factor for tomorrow afternoon before the Braves jet off to the Steel City, known as Pittsburgh, to face the Pirates. Can the Atlanta Braves find a way to win back the series, or will the Cubs delivered them a Chicago-style beatdown finale?
Be there tomorrow afternoon to see if the Braves can survive the Windy City wrath from Wrigley Field on the North Side of Chicago!

Very disappointing and crappy performance by Bryce Elder, I had hope those two back to back terrible starts he had around the all star break had worked it's way out of him, but when he started it off by walking the first two batters something told me right there that he wasn't going to be right today, 6 runs wins a ball game if you have good pitching, anyway hope the Bravos can bounce back tomorrow, GO BRAVES!!!!!!!
