The Devs need to raise the non dedicated tether distance. Its only 180 meters which is really sad. And the menu tether distance slider does not work as well.
You can manually input numbers into it though
@@TeachersGameTooyea but it’s bugged i think it doesn’t actually change the distance in game

The Devs need to put dedicated server option in the game. So i can run one on my pc and play on xbox with friends with no tether nonsence.
Just like evolved. I'll wait to play ark again till that time.

And they will never remove it for some reason when other official server or what I can go wherever you want

@@joelhoyle97 Yes it is. My friend and I play on a non-dedicated server and the tether doesn't pull us back to the host until 800 meters it seems.

Me and a friend are both on series S and it doesn't matter if i have the actual game installed or playing through cloud, she cannot join me and i cannot join her non dedicated game , when she tries to join it brings up a message saying " sorry you can't join this game session , you need the xbox series X/S version of the game to join the game session " and there is a code in brackets which is - 0x87e10019 . Are we missing something or are we maybe being retarted or is the game just fucked up ? Lol

You really should have shown the tether distance limit, but also how to rent a server, the options available, and how much it costs.
Me and my friend were always peaceful players. And once we had a really nice base. We worked on it for 1.5 months. And it was all gone. In less than 5 minutes by someone with a Wyvern. We made a decision. Unless we’re being able to create our own private server, we won’t be returning
i would never play pvp for that exact reason, pve is the move brother

hi Teach, are you experiencing that "(button)mods list\installed mods" in-game panel shows only 10 mods? the problem I have is that I have installed more than 10 mods in single player mod, and it's such a pain to find out if any of the rest installed mod is "outdated".
It wasn't stated that when upgrading the engine for ascended, they also removed player dedicated servers to force players' hands into renting a server.
Theres no reason other than greed, and the fact that they left out that detail makes me think there's lawsuit capability.
Customers expected an upgraded product, but customers were left with having options of play removed, placed behind a paywall.
This needs to be a bigger deal, but im not seeing anyone speak of it.
Yes, I've heard of downloading a runnable server and having to port forward, this wasnt necessary with evolved. Still BS

You are misinformed. It is completely free and works flawlessly.
@@leviboley is it dedicated or nondedicated? I believe they are taking about dedicated, ie always running, servers. You can always launch your own nondedicated session, but you have to be present at all times for any other players to join or any time to progress within the save.
I set up a dedicated server on an older pc that I had. It works pretty well. You have to be pretty familiar with command codes and scripts. I’m still trying to research what some of the settings actually do.

Me and my friend play Ark Ascended on the PS 5 but like one of the other users mentioned here below, the custom tether distance does not work. So even when we input a manual number like 50 or 100 we are still limited to 180 meters which sucks because we can never be far apart or go on solo missions we always have to be next to one another. Is there any way to fix this or any way to contact the devs of Ark Ascended to ask them directly?
I think they did this to prevent lag.
Ps5 can’t have that option because you simply can’t handle to have an entire world on your console.

I just want to make a permanent sever with all my server settings for all my friends to get on whenever while i dont have to be on.

no... it's pc load, the person hosting the server has to load where every player is at and what is rendered around them.@@trimcrew

Thank you, have been wondering how all that worked and what it meant. Nevertheless I still find it a little confusing. I was wondering, I am 71 yrs old and just enjoy taking my time and doing my own thing, single player on the island atm and PVE of course, without having to talk to others but at same time would be nice to fly by other players and check out their bases and dont feel totally alone on the Island. Any suggestions how to do that without being tethered or does that style not exist?? Thanks.

I had a server with just me and my friend and he wanted me to add some mods do I backed out of the server and added the mods but now everytime I try start the same server it just a whole different world where I have to restart from scratch how can I go back to the old one?

Hello I'm on playstation an I can't save my game I've crashed so many time an had to restart I don't know why. When I load back in it says I'm a new character an I lost my base with everything in it. What do I do, and your guides are always useful thank you for them❤
You can use the console comand: cheat saveworld

Same question it stores the save on me so I can go In but my other half character is also saved on me and not his ps5 so if he attempts to join last session he gets a fresh creation

Nope, greedy snailgames took that out so you are forced to rent a server for money.

How do i edit the server password? There literally is not a server password but its still forcing my friend to use one to join.

Because “Private” doesn’t work. If you check the box for private, your session cannot be found.

We need to be able to make real clusters.
If you mean your own dedicated server, you can, very easily. It is a shame so many people don't seem to be aware of this because it is extremely easy and extremely free.
@leviboley no. An actually clustered server that is rented. Only open to those already on that cluster so people can't port from SP or other servers, only the cluster.

we have a problem when we create a server, not Nitrado then our host has the problem that the other players move very laggy.
Not playable, and that was the case for all of us, so everyone tried to host but ONLY the host had the problem.
