I was at that game and that place was loud. Baseball was back in Cincinnati for one night. I think Al Leiter should be in the Hall of Fame for his performance that night
The older ball parks just brought such a different type of energy. Being a Mets fan nothing compares to shea. But this crowd was electric to start the game. Sad the reds didnt do much after this for a bunch of years
After this season, Cincinnati would fall to 85 wins in 2000, and then a decade of trash/mediocrity, even after getting Griffey. Also, love those Reds jerseys.

Lifelong Reds fan here. Al Leiter was on that night and I hope he gets the call from Cooperstown for his performance that night
136 pitches. And this was 1999, it’s amazing how far we’ve come in 20yrs. Nobody would be allowed to go that deep in 2022.

The Mets had a horrendous run in the last month. They went like 1-12 at the end of September.

This Mets team could hit. I forgot how many of them were over 300. We cant even get one guy to bat 300 , 30, 100 on 21 Mets team
