So HUMBLE about what she really did for the game and all women in general! I liked her back in the day BUT admire and LOVE her now for what she has done for everyone and the LGBTQ community specifically!

Interesting that not only the female tennis players thanked her, but the men as well, including Novak and Roger. She helped elevate the sport for both male and female players. A true icon and legend. She mattered, and continues to do so.

I remember seeing you play that match ma'am when I was a little girl. I also remember my mother and father watching you win that match. I remember my father's reactions and defeated frustration yeah he was a good good man. You made the world a better place. God bless you. And you help us with this tyranny of the Republican party and what we are 50 years later? I pray for another you and my daughters generation as well as my granddaughters. ✌️❤️🙏

How many children does Billie Jean have to be this great role model for women?

You don't have to be a mother to be a role model for women. Many women have led a full, productive lives and made tremendous contributions as "role models" without having children.

I here by challenge you billie jean king to a tennis match. i am the worlds greatest player that has ever lived in this life time and your lifetime and any previous life times.just to let you know i have seen a tennis court before. and i know what a tennis racket looks like.i will let you serve first. then im out for blood. i will have my 4 german shepards to make sure the balls are not too heavy.then i will hit the ball so hard and fast you will never see it. in fact even high speed cameras cant capture how fast i hit it.

Billie Jean should step up for girls and women forced to compete against boys and men " identifying " as female. She has been stone silent. Martina Navratilova has spoken out against it.

She hasn't been "stone silent". There is even a You Tube video of an interview done at the Open by PBS to BJK where she said that she is constantly trying to educate herself on this subject. She is not sure about banning transgender athletes when kids are of a younger age, but she is AGAINST boys past puberty playing women's sports, because they have already developed into men, and are not only physically stronger, but have a stronger muscular skeletal system and a stronger and bigger heart.

@@TheVerbalVolley I'm a cisgender male who's a full-on trans-ally, and am 100% in agreement with Ms. King's stance on this particular issue - she's parsed it out perfectly. It's a complex issue that requires a nuanced look from all sides in order to separate what is actually relevant from what is not. I fully agree that trans women who've gone through male puberty should not be allowed to compete against cis women in any sport where male puberty would provide a biological advantage - that should be a no-brainer. But too many people look on this issue as an excuse to dismiss trans rights altogether. The most important fact to consider is that, whereas this is a statistically miniscule circumstance, transphobes lean into it as if it's the only trans issue that matters, obscuring and dismissing the far more prevalent human rights violations and broad-based discrimination that most trans people face everywhere, every day. By all means let's have open and honest discussions dissecting this issue, but let's also keep it in perspective against the bigger picture.

How do you fill a tennis courts seats for a woman than supports trans men in women's sports. Invite Michelle Obamna to speak. Those people came for Obummer.

They came to a tennis stadium to see tennis matches. The bonus was to honor a woman who transcends sports and has woven her legacy into the very fabric of life in general, a rare feat for an athlete. Stop the hating.

Very few people knew that Michelle Obama was going to be there. Even BJK said that she had no idea that Michelle would be there. The crowds reaction was just as much surprise as it was excitement.
